e cercava di veder Gesù, per saper chi egli era; ma non poteva per la moltitudine, perciocchè egli era piccolo di statura.

Y procuraba ver á Jesús quién fuese; mas no podía á causa de la multitud, porque era pequeño de estatura.

And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
