Y HABIENDO entrado Jesús, iba pasando por Jericó;
And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

Y he aquí que un hombre rico llamado Zaqueo, principal entre los publicanos,

And, behold, there was a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

hacía diligencias para conocer a Jesús de vista; y no pudiendo a causa del gentío, por ser de muy pequeña estatura,
Y procuraba ver á Jesús quién fuese; mas no podía á causa de la multitud, porque era pequeño de estatura.
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
se adelantó corriendo, y se subió sobre una higuera silvestre para verle; porque había de pasar por allí.
Y corriendo delante, subióse á un árbol sicómoro para verle; porque había de pasar por allí.
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
Llegado que hubo Jesús a aquel lugar, alzando los ojos le vio, y le dijo: Zaqueo, baja luego; porque conviene que yo me hospede hoy en tu casa.
Y como vino á aquel lugar Jesús, mirando, le vió, y díjole: Zaqueo, date priesa, desciende, porque hoy es necesario que pose en tu casa.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
El bajó a toda prisa, y le recibió gozoso.
Entonces él descendió apriesa, y le recibió gozoso.
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

Todo el mundo al ver esto, murmuraba diciendo que se había ido a hospedar en casa de un hombre de mala vida.
Y viendo esto, todos murmuraban, diciendo que había entrado á posar con un hombre pecador.
And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
Mas Zaqueo, puesto en presencia del Señor, le dijo: Señor, desde ahora doy yo la mitad de mis bienes a los pobres; y si he defraudado en algo a alguno, le voy a restituir cuatro tantos más.
Entonces Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: He aquí, Señor, la mitad de mis bienes doy á los pobres; y si en algo he defraudado á alguno, lo vuelvo con el cuatro tanto.
And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
Jesús le respondió: Ciertamente que el día de hoy ha sido día de salvación para esta casa; pues que también éste es hijo de Abrahán.
Y Jesús le dijo: Hoy ha venido la salvación á esta casa; por cuanto él también es hijo de Abraham.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
Porque el Hijo del hombre ha venido a buscar y a salvar lo que había perecido.
Porque el Hijo del hombre vino á buscar y á salvar lo que se había perdido.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Mientras escuchaban estas cosas los presentes, añadió una parábola, atento a que se hallaba vecino a Jerusalén , y las gentes creían que luego se había de manifestar el reino de Dios.
Y oyendo ellos estas cosas, prosiguió Jesús y dijo una parábola, por cuanto estaba cerca de Jerusalem, y porque pensaban que luego había de ser manifestado el reino de Dios.
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
Dijo, pues: Un hombre de ilustre nacimiento se marchó a una región remota para recibir el reino, y volver con ella.
Dijo pues: Un hombre noble partió á una provincia lejos, para tomar para sí un reino, y volver.
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

Con este motivo, convocados diez de sus criados, les dio diez minas o marcos de plata, diciéndoles: Negociad con ellas hasta mi vuelta.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
Es de saber que sus naturales le aborrecían; y así despacharon tras de él embajadores, diciendo: No queremos a ése por nuestro rey.
Empero sus ciudadanos le aborrecían, y enviaron tras de él una embajada, diciendo: No queremos que éste reine sobre nosotros.
But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
Pero habiendo vuelto, recibido el reino, mandó luego llamar a los criados, a quienes había dado su dinero, para informarse de lo que había negociado cada uno.
Y aconteció, que vuelto él, habiendo tomado el reino, mandó llamar á sí á aquellos siervos á los cuales había dado el dinero, para saber lo que había negociado cada uno.
And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
Vino, pues, el primero, y dijo: Señor, tu marco ha rendido diez marcos.
Y vino el primero, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha ganado diez minas.
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
Le respondió: Bien está, buen criado, ya que en esto poco has sido fiel, tendrás mando sobre diez ciudades.
Y él le dice: Está bien, buen siervo; pues que en lo poco has sido fiel, tendrás potestad sobre diez ciudades.
And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
Llegó el segundo, y dijo: Señor, tu marco ha dado de ganancia cinco marcos.
Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha hecho cinco minas.
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
Dijo asimismo a éste: Tú tendrás también el gobierno de cinco ciudades.
Y también á éste dijo: Tú también sé sobre cinco ciudades.
And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
Vino otro, y dijo: Señor, aquí tienes tu marco de plata, el cual he guardado envuelto en un pañuelo;
Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, he aquí tu mina, la cual he tenido guardada en un pañizuelo:
And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
porque tuve miedo de ti por cuanto eres hombre de un natural austero; tomas lo que no has depositado, y siegas lo que no has sembrado.
Porque tuve miedo de ti, que eres hombre recio; tomas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste.
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
Le dijo el amo: ¡Oh mal siervo!, por tu propia boca te condeno; sabías que yo soy un hombre duro y austero, que me llevo lo que no deposité y siego lo que no he sembrado;
Entonces él le dijo: Mal siervo, de tu boca te juzgo. Sabías que yo era hombre recio, que tomo lo que no puse, y que siego lo que no sembré;
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
¿pues cómo no pusiste mi dinero en el banco, para que yo volviendo lo recobrase con los intereses?
¿Por qué, pues, no diste mi dinero al banco, y yo viniendo lo demandara con el logro?
Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
Por lo que dijo a los asistentes: Quitadle el marco, y dádselo al que tiene diez marcos.
Y dijo á los que estaban presentes: Quitadle la mina, y dadla al que tiene las diez minas.
And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
Le replicaron: Señor, que tiene ya diez marcos.
Y ellos le dijeron: Señor, tiene diez minas.
(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
Yo os declaro que a todo aquel que tiene, se le dará, y se hará rico; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene se le quitará.
Pues yo os digo que á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; mas al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
Pero en orden a aquellos enemigos míos, que no me han querido por rey, conducidlos acá, y quitadles la vida en mi presencia.
Y también á aquellos mis enemigos que no querían que yo reinase sobre ellos, traedlos acá, y degolladlos delante de mí.
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
Después de haber dicho Jesús estas cosas, prosiguió su viaje a Jerusalén , e iba él delante de todos.
Y dicho esto, iba delante subiendo á Jerusalem.
And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
Y estando cerca de Betfage y de Betania, junto al monte llamado de los Olivos, despachó a dos de sus discípulos,
Y aconteció, que llegando cerca de Bethfagé, y de Bethania, al monte que se llama de las Olivas, envió dos de sus discípulos,
And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
diciéndoles: Id a esa aldea de enfrente, donde al entrar hallaréis un burrito atado, en que ningún hombre ha montado jamás; desatadlo, y traedlo.
Diciendo: Id á la aldea de enfrente; en la cual como entrareis, hallaréis un pollino atado, en el que ningún hombre se ha sentado jamás; desatadlo, y traedlo.
Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.
Que si alguno os preguntare: ¿Por qué lo desatáis?, le diréis así: Porque el Señor lo necesita.
Y si alguien os preguntare, ¿por qué lo desatáis? le responderéis así: Porque el Señor lo ha menester.
And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
Fueron, pues, los enviados; y hallaron el burro de la misma manera que les había dicho.
Y fueron los que habían sido enviados, y hallaron como les dijo.
And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.
Al desatarlo, les dijeron los dueños de él: ¿Por qué desatáis ese burro?
Y desatando ellos el pollino, sus dueños les dijeron: ¿Por qué desatáis el pollino?
And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
A lo que respondieron ellos: Porque lo necesita el Señor.
Y ellos dijeron: Porque el Señor lo ha menester.
And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
They said, “The Lord needs it.”
Lo condujeron, pues, a Jesús , y echando las ropas de ellos sobre el burro, lo hicieron montar en él.
Y trajéronlo á Jesús; y habiendo echado sus vestidos sobre el pollino, pusieron á Jesús encima.
And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.
Mientras iba Jesús pasando, tendían sus vestidos por el camino.
Y yendo él tendían sus capas por el camino.
And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
Pero estando ya cercano a la bajada del monte de los Olivos, todos los discípulos en gran número, transportados de gozo, comenzaron a alabar a Dios en alta voz por todos los prodigios que habían visto,
Y como llegasen ya cerca de la bajada del monte de las Olivas, toda la multitud de los discípulos, gozándose, comenzaron á alabar á Dios á gran voz por todas las maravillas que habían visto,
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
diciendo: ¡Bendito sea el rey que viene en nombre del Señor; paz en el cielo y gloria en lo más alto de los cielos!
Diciendo: ¡Bendito el rey que viene en el nombre del Señor: paz en el cielo, y gloria en lo altísimo!
Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
Con esto algunos de los fariseos, que iban entre la gente, le dijeron: Maestro, reprende a tus discípulos.
Entonces algunos de los Fariseos de la compañía, le dijeron: Maestro, reprende á tus discípulos.
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
Les respondió él: En verdad os digo, que si éstos callan, las mismas piedras darán voces.
Y él respondiendo, les dijo: Os digo que si éstos callaren, las piedras clamarán.
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
Al llegar cerca de Jerusalén , poniéndose a mirar esta ciudad, derramó lágrimas sobre ella, diciendo:
Y como llegó cerca, viendo la ciudad, lloró sobre ella,
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,
¡Ah! si conocieses también tú, por lo menos este día que se te ha dado, lo que puede atraerte la paz; mas ahora está todo ello oculto a tus ojos.
Diciendo: ¡Oh si también tú conocieses, á lo menos en este tu día, lo que toca á tu paz! mas ahora está encubierto de tus ojos.
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
La lástima es que vendrán unos días sobre ti, en que tus enemigos te circunvalarán, y te rodearán, y te estrecharán por todas partes,
Porque vendrán días sobre ti, que tus enemigos te cercarán con baluarte, y te pondrán cerco, y de todas partes te pondrán en estrecho,
For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
y te arrasarán, con los hijos tuyos, que tendrás encerrados dentro de ti, y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra; por cuanto has desconocido el tiempo en que Dios te ha visitado.
Y te derribarán á tierra, y á tus hijos dentro de ti; y no dejarán sobre ti piedra sobre piedra; por cuanto no conociste el tiempo de tu visitación.
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
Y habiendo entrado en el templo, comenzó a echar fuera a los que vendían y compraban en él,
Y entrando en el templo, comenzó á echar fuera á todos los que vendían y compraban en él.
And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
diciéndoles: Escrito está: Mi casa es casa de oración; mas vosotros la tenéis hecha una cueva de ladrones.
Diciéndoles: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración es; mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
Y enseñaba todos los días en el templo. Pero los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los principales del pueblo buscaban cómo quitarle del mundo.
Y enseñaba cada día en el templo; mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los principales del pueblo procuraban matarle.
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
Y no hallaban medio de obrar contra él; porque todo el pueblo estaba con la boca abierta escuchándole.
Y no hallaban qué hacerle, porque todo el pueblo estaba suspenso oyéndole.
And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
