Und Er kam hinein und ging durch Jericho.

Y HABIENDO entrado Jesús, iba pasando por Jericó;

And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

He entered and was passing through Jericho.

Und siehe, da war ein Mann, der mit Namen Zachäus hieß; und er war Oberzöllner, und er war reich.

Y he aquí un varón llamado Zaqueo, el cual era el principal de los publicanos, y era rico;

And, behold, there was a man named Zacchæus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

Und er suchte Jesus zu sehen, wer Er wäre, und konnte nicht vor dem Gedränge; denn er war klein von Wuchs.

Y procuraba ver á Jesús quién fuese; mas no podía á causa de la multitud, porque era pequeño de estatura.

And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.

Und er lief voraus vornhin und stieg auf einen Maulbeerfeigenbaum, auf daß er Ihn sähe; weil Er allda vorbeiziehen sollte.

Y corriendo delante, subióse á un árbol sicómoro para verle; porque había de pasar por allí.

And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

Und da Jesus an den Ort kam, blickte Er auf, sah ihn und sprach zu ihm: Zachäus, steige eilends herab; denn heute muß Ich in deinem Hause bleiben.

Y como vino á aquel lugar Jesús, mirando, le vió, y díjole: Zaqueo, date priesa, desciende, porque hoy es necesario que pose en tu casa.

And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

Und er stieg eilends hernieder und nahm Ihn auf mit Freuden.

Entonces él descendió apriesa, y le recibió gozoso.

And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.

Und die es sahen, murrten alle und sagten: Bei einem sündhaften Manne ist Er zur Einkehr eingegangen.

Y viendo esto, todos murmuraban, diciendo que había entrado á posar con un hombre pecador.

And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”

Zachäus aber stand und sprach zum Herrn: Siehe, Herr, die Hälfte meiner Habe gebe ich den Armen, und so ich jemand in etwas betrogen, gebe ich es vierfältig wieder.

Entonces Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: He aquí, Señor, la mitad de mis bienes doy á los pobres; y si en algo he defraudado á alguno, lo vuelvo con el cuatro tanto.

And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Heute ist diesem Hause Heil geworden, sintemal auch er ein Sohn Abrahams ist.

Y Jesús le dijo: Hoy ha venido la salvación á esta casa; por cuanto él también es hijo de Abraham.

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

Denn des Menschen Sohn ist gekommen, zu suchen und zu retten, das verloren ist.

Porque el Hijo del hombre vino á buscar y á salvar lo que se había perdido.

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Da sie aber solches hörten, fuhr Er fort und sagte ein Gleichnis, darum, daß Er nahe bei Jerusalem war, und sie meinten, daß das Reich Gottes sogleich erscheinen werde.

Y oyendo ellos estas cosas, prosiguió Jesús y dijo una parábola, por cuanto estaba cerca de Jerusalem, y porque pensaban que luego había de ser manifestado el reino de Dios.

And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.

Er sprach nun: Ein wohlgeborener Mensch zog in eine ferne Landschaft, um ein Reich zu empfangen und dann zurückzukehren.

Dijo pues: Un hombre noble partió á una provincia lejos, para tomar para sí un reino, y volver.

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

Er rief aber zehn seiner Knechte und gab ihnen zehn Pfunde und sprach zu ihnen: Handelt damit, bis ich komme.

Mas llamados diez siervos suyos, les dió diez minas, y díjoles: Negociad entre tanto que vengo.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’

Seine Bürger aber haßten ihn und sandten eine Gesandtschaft hinter ihm und her und sprachen: Wir wollen nicht, daß dieser über uns König sei;

Empero sus ciudadanos le aborrecían, y enviaron tras de él una embajada, diciendo: No queremos que éste reine sobre nosotros.

But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’

Und es geschah, da er wiederkam, als er das Reich an sich genommen, daß er sagte, man solle ihm diese Knechte rufen, denen er das Silber gegeben hatte, auf daß er erführe, wieviel ein jeder erhandelt hätte.

Y aconteció, que vuelto él, habiendo tomado el reino, mandó llamar á sí á aquellos siervos á los cuales había dado el dinero, para saber lo que había negociado cada uno.

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

Da trat aber herzu der erste uns sprach: Herr, dein Pfund hat zehn Pfund dazu erworben.

Y vino el primero, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha ganado diez minas.

Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’

Und er sprach zu ihm: Wohlan, guter Knecht! weil du bist im Geringsten treu gewesen, sollst du Gewalt über zehn Städte haben.

Y él le dice: Está bien, buen siervo; pues que en lo poco has sido fiel, tendrás potestad sobre diez ciudades.

And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

Und der zweite kam und sprach: Herr, dein Pfund hat fünf Pfund, gewonnen.

Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha hecho cinco minas.

And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’

Er sprach aber auch zu diesem: Und du sollst über fünf Städte sein!

Y también á éste dijo: Tú también sé sobre cinco ciudades.

And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

Und ein anderer kam und sprach: Herr, siehe, dein Pfund, das ich im Schweißtuche daliegen hatte.

Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, he aquí tu mina, la cual he tenido guardada en un pañizuelo:

And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,

Denn ich fürchtete dich, weil du ein strenger Mensch bist. Du nimmst, das du nicht hingelegt, und erntest, das du nicht gesät hast.

Porque tuve miedo de ti, que eres hombre recio; tomas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste.

For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’

Er aber sprach zu ihm: Aus deinem Munde richte ich dich, du schlimmer Knecht! Du wußtest, daß ich ein strenger Mensch bin, nehme, was ich nicht hingelegt, und ernte, was ich nicht gesät habe?

Entonces él le dijo: Mal siervo, de tu boca te juzgo. Sabías que yo era hombre recio, que tomo lo que no puse, y que siego lo que no sembré;

And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.

Und warum hast du mein Silber nicht auf die Wechselbank gegeben? So hätte ich es, wann ich gekommen wäre, mit Zins eingefordert.

¿Por qué, pues, no diste mi dinero al banco, y yo viniendo lo demandara con el logro?

Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?

Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’

Und er sprach zu den Dabeistehenden: Nehmt das Pfund von ihm weg und gebt es dem, der zehn Pfunde hat.

Y dijo á los que estaban presentes: Quitadle la mina, y dadla al que tiene las diez minas.

And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’

Und sie sagten zu ihm: Herr, er hat zehn Pfunde.

Y ellos le dijeron: Señor, tiene diez minas.

(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’

Denn Ich sage euch: Wer da hat, dem wird gegeben werden; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch weggenommen werden, das er hat.

Pues yo os digo que á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; mas al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.

Aber jene meine Feinde, die nicht wollen, daß ich König sei über sie, führet her und schlaget sie nieder vor mir!

Y también á aquellos mis enemigos que no querían que yo reinase sobre ellos, traedlos acá, y degolladlos delante de mí.

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”

Und als Er solches gesprochen hatte, zog Er voran auf Seinem Zug hinauf gen Jerusalem.

Y dicho esto, iba delante subiendo á Jerusalem.

And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

Und es geschah, als Er nahe an Bethphage und Bethania, an den Berg, den man Ölberg heißt, kam, sandte Er zwei Seiner Jünger ab,

Y aconteció, que llegando cerca de Bethfagé, y de Bethania, al monte que se llama de las Olivas, envió dos de sus discípulos,

And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,

Und sprach: Gehet hin in den Flecken gegenüber von euch, und wenn ihr hineinkommt, werdet ihr ein Füllen angebunden finden, auf dem noch nie ein Mensch gesessen ist. Löst es und führt es her.

Diciendo: Id á la aldea de enfrente; en la cual como entrareis, hallaréis un pollino atado, en el que ningún hombre se ha sentado jamás; desatadlo, y traedlo.

Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

Und wenn euch jemand fragt: Warum löst ihr es? so sprechet also zu ihm: Der Herr bedarf seiner.

Y si alguien os preguntare, ¿por qué lo desatáis? le responderéis así: Porque el Señor lo ha menester.

And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”

Und die so gesandt waren, gingen hin und fanden es, wie Er ihnen gesagt hatte.

Y fueron los que habían sido enviados, y hallaron como les dijo.

And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.

Als sie aber das Füllen lösten, sprachen dessen Herren zu ihnen: Warum löst ihr das Füllen?

Y desatando ellos el pollino, sus dueños les dijeron: ¿Por qué desatáis el pollino?

And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

Sie aber sagten: Der Herr bedarf seiner.

Y ellos dijeron: Porque el Señor lo ha menester.

And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

They said, “The Lord needs it.”

Und sie führten es zu Jesus und warfen ihre Kleider auf das Füllen und setzten Jesus darauf.

Y trajéronlo á Jesús; y habiendo echado sus vestidos sobre el pollino, pusieron á Jesús encima.

And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.

Da Er aber dahinzog, breiteten sie ihre Kleider unter Ihm auf den Weg.

Y yendo él tendían sus capas por el camino.

And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.

Und da Er Sich bereits dem Abhang des Ölberges nahte, fing die ganze Menge der Jünger an, freudig mit großer Stimme Gott zu loben über alle die Wundertaten, die sie gesehen hatten,

Y como llegasen ya cerca de la bajada del monte de las Olivas, toda la multitud de los discípulos, gozándose, comenzaron á alabar á Dios á gran voz por todas las maravillas que habían visto,

And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,

Und sprachen: Gesegnet sei der König, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn! Friede im Himmel und Herrlichkeit in den Höhen!

Diciendo: ¡Bendito el rey que viene en el nombre del Señor: paz en el cielo, y gloria en lo altísimo!

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

Und etliche der Pharisäer aus dem Gedränge sprachen zu Ihm: Lehrer, bedrohe deine Jünger!

Entonces algunos de los Fariseos de la compañía, le dijeron: Maestro, reprende á tus discípulos.

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

Und Er antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ich sage euch, wenn diese stilleschwiegen, so würden die Steine schreien.

Y él respondiendo, les dijo: Os digo que si éstos callaren, las piedras clamarán.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

Und wie Er Sich näherte, sah Er die Stadt an und weinte über sie,

Y como llegó cerca, viendo la ciudad, lloró sobre ella,

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,

Und sprach: Wenn du erkenntest, auch du, noch an diesem deinem Tage, was für deinen Frieden ist! Nun aber ist es vor deinen Augen verborgen.

Diciendo: ¡Oh si también tú conocieses, á lo menos en este tu día, lo que toca á tu paz! mas ahora está encubierto de tus ojos.

Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

Denn es werden Tage über dich kommen, da deine Feinde einen Wall um dich aufwerfen, und dich ringsum umringen, und dich von allen Seiten bedrängen werden;

Porque vendrán días sobre ti, que tus enemigos te cercarán con baluarte, y te pondrán cerco, y de todas partes te pondrán en estrecho,

For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,

Und sie werden dich und deine Kinder in dir zu Boden reißen und keinen Stein in dir auf dem Steine lassen, darum, daß du die Zeit deiner Heimsuchung nicht erkannt hast.

Y te derribarán á tierra, y á tus hijos dentro de ti; y no dejarán sobre ti piedra sobre piedra; por cuanto no conociste el tiempo de tu visitación.

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

Und Er ging in das Heiligtum und fing an, die Verkäufer und Käufer darin auszutreiben,

Y entrando en el templo, comenzó á echar fuera á todos los que vendían y compraban en él.

And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,

Und sprach zu ihnen: Es ist geschrieben: Mein Haus ist ein Bethaus, ihr aber habt es zu einer Räuberhöhle gemacht.

Diciéndoles: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración es; mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.

Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”

Und Er lehrte täglich im Heiligtum; die Hohenpriester aber und die Schriftgelehrten und die Vornehmsten des Volkes trachteten danach, daß sie Ihn umbrächten.

Y enseñaba cada día en el templo; mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los principales del pueblo procuraban matarle.

And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.

Und sie fanden nicht, was sie tun sollten; denn das ganze Volk hing Ihm an und hörte auf Ihn.

Y no hallaban qué hacerle, porque todo el pueblo estaba suspenso oyéndole.

And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
