Lucas 20

Ainsi ils ne purent le prendre en défaut sur aucune parole devant le peuple ; et admirant sa réponse, ils gardèrent le silence.

Y no pudieron reprender sus palabras delante del pueblo: antes maravillados de su respuesta, callaron.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.
