Lucas 20

Et il arriva, l’un de ces jours, comme il enseignait le peuple dans le temple et évangélisait, que les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes survinrent avec les anciens.

Y ACONTECIÓ un día, que enseñando él al pueblo en el templo, y anunciando el evangelio, llegáronse los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas, con los ancianos;

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

On one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.

Et ils lui parlèrent, disant : Dis-nous par quelle autorité tu fais ces choses, ou qui est celui qui t’a donné cette autorité ?

Y le hablaron, diciendo: Dinos: ¿con qué potestad haces estas cosas? ¿ó quién es el que te ha dado esta potestad?

And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”

Et répondant, il leur dit : Je vous demanderai, moi aussi, une chose, et dites-moi :

Respondiendo entonces Jesús, les dijo: Os preguntaré yo también una palabra; respondedme:

And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:

Le baptême de Jean était-il du ciel, ou des hommes ?

El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo, ó de los hombres?

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”

Et ils raisonnèrent entre eux, disant : Si nous disons : Du ciel, il dira : Pourquoi ne l’avez-vous pas cru ?

Mas ellos pensaban dentro de sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos, del cielo, dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

Et si nous disons : Des hommes, tout le peuple nous lapidera, car il est persuadé que Jean était un prophète.

Y si dijéremos, de los hombres, todo el pueblo nos apedreará: porque están ciertos que Juan era profeta.

But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”

Et ils répondirent qu’ils ne savaient pas d’où †il était.

Y respondieron que no sabían de dónde.

And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.

Et Jésus leur dit : Moi non plus, je ne vous dis pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

Entonces Jesús les dijo: Ni yo os digo con qué potestad hago estas cosas.

And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Et il se mit à dire au peuple cette parabole : Un homme planta une vigne, et la loua à des cultivateurs, et s’en alla hors du pays pour longtemps.

Y comenzó á decir al pueblo esta parábola: Un hombre plantó una viña, y arrendóla á labradores, y se ausentó por mucho tiempo.

Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.

Et en la saison, il envoya un esclave aux cultivateurs, afin qu’ils lui donnent du fruit de la vigne ; mais les cultivateurs, l’ayant battu, le renvoyèrent à vide.

Y al tiempo, envió un siervo á los labradores, para que le diesen del fruto de la viña; mas los labradores le hirieron, y enviaron vacío.

And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty.

Et il envoya encore un autre esclave ; mais l’ayant battu lui aussi, et l’ayant traité ignominieusement, ils le renvoyèrent à vide.

Y volvió á enviar otro siervo; mas ellos á éste también, herido y afrentado, le enviaron vacío.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

Et il en envoya encore un troisième ; mais ils blessèrent aussi celui-ci, et le jetèrent dehors.

Y volvió á enviar al tercer siervo; mas ellos también á éste echaron herido.

And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him and threw him out.

Et le maître de la vigne dit : Que ferai-je ? J’enverrai mon fils bien-aimé ; peut-être que, quand ils verront celui-ci, ils le respecteront.

Entonces el señor de la viña dijo: ¿Qué haré? Enviaré mi hijo amado: quizás cuando á éste vieren, tendrán respeto.

Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’

Mais quand les cultivateurs le virent, ils raisonnèrent entre eux, disant : Celui-ci est l’héritier, tuons-le, afin que l’héritage soit à nous.

Mas los labradores, viéndole, pensaron entre sí, diciendo: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle para que la heredad sea nuestra.

But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

“But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’

Et l’ayant jeté hors de la vigne, ils le tuèrent. Que leur fera donc le maître de la vigne ?

Y echáronle fuera de la viña, y le mataron. ¿Qué pues, les hará el señor de la viña?

So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

Then they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

Il viendra et fera périr ces cultivateurs, et donnera la vigne à d’autres. Et l’ayant entendu, ils dirent : Qu’ainsi n’advienne !

Vendrá, y destruirá á estos labradores, y dará su viña á otros. Y como ellos lo oyeron, dijeron: ¡Dios nos libre!

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard that, they said, “May that never be!”

Et lui, les regardant, dit : Qu’est-ce donc que ceci qui est écrit : « La pierre que ceux qui bâtissaient ont rejetée, celle-là est devenue la maîtresse pierre du coin » ?

Mas él mirándolos, dice: ¿Qué pues es lo que está escrito: La piedra que condenaron los edificadores, ésta fué por cabeza de esquina?

And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

But he looked at them and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the chief cornerstone’?

Quiconque tombera sur cette pierre, sera brisé ; mais celui sur qui elle tombera, elle le broiera.

Cualquiera que cayere sobre aquella piedra, será quebrantado; mas sobre el que la piedra cayere, le desmenuzará.

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”

Et les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes cherchèrent, en cette heure même, à mettre les mains sur lui ; et ils craignaient le peuple, car ils connurent qu’il avait dit cette parabole contre eux.

Y procuraban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas echarle mano en aquella hora, porque entendieron que contra ellos había dicho esta parábola: mas temieron al pueblo.

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.

Et l’observant, ils envoyèrent des agents secrets, qui feignaient d’être justes, pour le surprendre en †quelque parole, de manière à le livrer au magistrat et au pouvoir du gouverneur.

Y acechándole enviaron espías que se simulasen justos, para sorprenderle en palabras, para que le entregasen al principado y á la potestad del presidente.

And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.

They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.

Et ils l’interrogèrent, disant : Maître, nous savons que tu dis et que tu enseignes justement, et que tu n’as point égard à l’apparence des personnes, mais que tu enseignes la voie de Dieu avec vérité.

Los cuales le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que dices y enseñas bien, y que no tienes respeto á persona; antes enseñas el camino de Dios con verdad.

And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.

Nous est-il permis de payer le tribut à César, ou non ?

¿Nos es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cæsar, or no?

Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

Et s’apercevant de leur perfidie, il leur dit : Pourquoi me tentez-vous ?

Mas él, entendiendo la astucia de ellos, les dijo: ¿Por qué me tentáis?

But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?

Montrez-moi un denier ; de qui a-t-il l’image et l’inscription ? Et répondant, ils dirent : De César.

Mostradme la moneda. ¿De quién tiene la imagen y la inscripción? Y respondiendo dijeron: De César.

Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cæsar’s.

Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”

Et il leur dit : Rendez donc les choses de César à César, et les choses de Dieu à Dieu.

Entonces les dijo: Pues dad á César lo que es de César; y lo que es de Dios, á Dios.

And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

Et ils ne pouvaient le surprendre dans ses paroles devant le peuple ; et étonnés de sa réponse, ils se turent.

Y no pudieron reprender sus palabras delante del pueblo: antes maravillados de su respuesta, callaron.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.

Et quelques-uns des sadducéens, qui nient qu’il y ait une résurrection, s’approchèrent, et l’interrogèrent,

Y llegándose unos de los Saduceos, los cuales niegan haber resurrección, le preguntaron,

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.

disant : Maître, Moïse nous a écrit, que si le frère de quelqu’un meurt, ayant une femme, et qu’il meure sans enfants, son frère prenne la femme et suscite de la postérité à son frère.

Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés nos escribió: Si el hermano de alguno muriere teniendo mujer, y muriere sin hijos, que su hermano tome la mujer, y levante simiente á su hermano.

Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.

Il y avait donc sept frères ; et le premier, ayant pris une femme, mourut sans enfants ;

Fueron, pues, siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió sin hijos.

There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.

et le second †prit la femme, et celui-ci aussi mourut sans enfants ;

Y la tomó el segundo, el cual también murió sin hijos.

And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

et le troisième la prit, et de même aussi les sept : ils ne laissèrent pas d’enfants et moururent ;

Y la tomó el tercero: asimismo también todos siete: y murieron sin dejar prole.

And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.

et après eux tous la femme aussi mourut.

Y á la postre de todos murió también la mujer.

Last of all the woman died also.

Afterward the woman also died.

Dans la résurrection donc, duquel d’entre eux sera-t-elle la femme, car les sept l’ont eue pour femme ?

En la resurrección, pues, ¿mujer de cuál de ellos será? porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”

Et Jésus leur dit : Les fils de ce siècle se marient et sont donnés en mariage ;

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Los hijos de este siglo se casan, y son dados en casamiento:

And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.

mais ceux qui seront estimés dignes d’avoir part à ce siècle-là et à la résurrection d’entre les morts, ne se marient ni ne sont donnés en mariage,

Mas los que fueren tenidos por dignos de aquel siglo y de la resurrección de los muertos, ni se casan, ni son dados en casamiento:

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

car aussi ils ne peuvent plus mourir ; car ils sont semblables aux anges, et ils sont fils de Dieu, étant fils de la résurrection.

Porque no pueden ya más morir: porque son iguales á los ángeles, y son hijos de Dios, cuando son hijos de la resurrección.

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

Or que les morts ressuscitent, Moïse même l’a montré, au †titre : “Du buisson”, quand il appelle le ✶Seigneur : le Dieu d’Abraham, et le Dieu d’Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob.

Y que los muertos hayan de resucitar, aun Moisés lo enseñó en el pasaje de la zarza, cuando llama al Señor: Dios de Abraham, y Dios de Isaac, y Dios de Jacob.

Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

Or il n’est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants ; car pour lui tous vivent.

Porque Dios no es Dios de muertos, mas de vivos: porque todos viven á él.

For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

Et quelques-uns des scribes, répondant, dirent : Maître, tu as bien dit.

Y respondiéndole unos de los escribas, dijeron: Maestro, bien has dicho.

Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”

Et ils n’osèrent plus l’interroger sur rien.

Y no osaron más preguntarle algo.

And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

Et il leur dit : Comment dit-on que le Christ est fils de David ?

Y él les dijo: ¿Cómo dicen que el Cristo es hijo de David?

And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?

He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?

Et David lui-même dit, dans le livre des Psaumes : « Le ✶Seigneur a dit à mon seigneur : Assieds-toi à ma droite,

Y el mismo David dice en el libro de los Salmos: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra,

And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

jusqu’à ce que je mette tes ennemis pour marchepied de tes pieds ».

Entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.

Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’

David donc l’appelle seigneur ; et comment est-il son fils ?

Así que David le llama Señor: ¿cómo pues es su hijo?

David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

“David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

Et comme tout le peuple écoutait, il dit à ses disciples :

Y oyéndole todo el pueblo, dijo á sus discípulos:

Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,

In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,

Soyez en garde contre les scribes, qui se plaisent à se promener en longues robes, et qui aiment les salutations dans les places publiques, et les premiers sièges dans les synagogues, et les premières places dans les repas ;

Guardaos de los escribas, que quieren andar con ropas largas, y aman las salutaciones en las plazas, y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y los primeros asientos en las cenas;

Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

“Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;

qui dévorent les maisons des veuves, et pour prétexte font de longues prières ; – ceux-ci recevront une sentence plus sévère.

Que devoran las casas de las viudas, poniendo por pretexto la larga oración: éstos recibirán mayor condenación.

Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
