1Er sah aber auf und schaute die Reichen, wie sie ihre Opfer einlegten in den Gotteskasten.
2Er sah aber auch eine arme Witwe, die legte zwei Scherflein ein.
3Und er sprach: Wahrlich ich sage euch: Diese arme Witwe hat mehr denn sie alle eingelegt.
4Denn diese alle haben aus ihrem Überfluß eingelegt zu dem Opfer Gottes; sie aber hat von ihrer Armut alle ihre Nahrung, die sie hatte, eingelegt.
5Und da etliche sagten von dem Tempel, daß er geschmückt wäre mit feinen Steinen und Kleinoden, sprach er:
6Es wird die Zeit kommen, in welcher von dem allem, was ihr sehet, nicht ein Stein auf dem andern gelassen wird, der nicht zerbrochen werde.
7Sie fragten ihn aber und sprachen: Meister, wann soll das werden? und welches ist das Zeichen, wann das geschehen wird?
8Er aber sprach: Sehet zu, lasset euch nicht verführen. Denn viele werden kommen in meinem Namen und sagen, ich sei es, und: “Die Zeit ist herbeigekommen.” Folget ihnen nicht nach!
9Wenn ihr aber hören werdet von Kriegen und Empörungen, so entsetzet euch nicht. Denn solches muß zuvor geschehen; aber das Ende ist noch nicht so bald da.
10Da sprach er zu ihnen: Ein Volk wird sich erheben wider das andere und ein Reich wider das andere,
11und es werden geschehen große Erdbeben hin und wieder, teure Zeit und Pestilenz; auch werden Schrecknisse und große Zeichen am Himmel geschehen.
12Aber vor diesem allem werden sie die Hände an euch legen und euch verfolgen und werden euch überantworten in ihre Schulen und Gefängnisse und vor Könige und Fürsten ziehen um meines Namens willen.
13Das wird euch aber widerfahren zu einem Zeugnis.
14So nehmet nun zu Herzen, daß ihr nicht sorget, wie ihr euch verantworten sollt.
15Denn ich will euch Mund und Weisheit geben, welcher nicht sollen widersprechen können noch widerstehen alle eure Widersacher.
16Ihr werdet aber überantwortet werden von den Eltern, Brüdern, Gefreunden und Freunden; und sie werden euer etliche töten.
17Und ihr werdet gehaßt sein von jedermann um meines Namens willen.
18Und ein Haar von eurem Haupte soll nicht umkommen.
19Fasset eure Seelen mit Geduld.
20Wenn ihr aber sehen werdet Jerusalem belagert mit einem Heer, so merket daß herbeigekommen ist seine Verwüstung.
21Alsdann, wer in Judäa ist, der fliehe auf das Gebirge, und wer drinnen ist, der weiche heraus, und wer auf dem Lande ist, der komme nicht hinein.
22Denn das sind die Tage der Rache, daß erfüllet werde alles, was geschrieben ist.
23Weh aber den Schwangern und Säugerinnen in jenen Tagen! Denn es wird große Not auf Erden sein und ein Zorn über dies Volk,
24und sie werden fallen durch des Schwertes Schärfe und gefangen geführt werden unter alle Völker; und Jerusalem wird zertreten werden von den Heiden, bis daß der Heiden Zeit erfüllt wird.
25Und es werden Zeichen geschehen an Sonne und Mond und Sternen; und auf Erden wird den Leuten bange sein, und sie werden zagen, und das Meer und die Wassermengen werden brausen,
26und Menschen werden verschmachten vor Furcht und vor Warten der Dinge, die kommen sollen auf Erden; denn auch der Himmel Kräfte werden sich bewegen.
27Und alsdann werden sie sehen des Menschen Sohn kommen in der Wolke mit großer Kraft und Herrlichkeit.
28Wenn aber dieses anfängt zu geschehen, so sehet auf und erhebet eure Häupter, darum daß sich eure Erlösung naht.
29Und er sagte ihnen ein Gleichnis: Sehet an den Feigenbaum und alle Bäume:
30wenn sie jetzt ausschlagen, so sehet ihr's an ihnen und merket, daß jetzt der Sommer nahe ist.
31Also auch ihr: wenn ihr dies alles sehet angehen, so wisset, daß das Reich Gottes nahe ist.
32Wahrlich ich sage euch: Dies Geschlecht wird nicht vergehen, bis daß es alles geschehe.
33Himmel und Erde werden vergehen; aber meine Worte vergehen nicht.
34Hütet euch aber, daß eure Herzen nicht beschwert werden mit Fressen und Saufen und mit Sorgen der Nahrung und komme dieser Tag schnell über euch;
35denn wie ein Fallstrick wird er kommen über alle, die auf Erden wohnen.
36So seid nun wach allezeit und betet, daß ihr würdig werden möget, zu entfliehen diesem allem, das geschehen soll, und zu stehen vor des Menschen Sohn.
37Und er lehrte des Tages im Tempel; des Nachts aber ging er hinaus und blieb über Nacht am Ölberge.
38Und alles Volk machte sich früh auf zu ihm, im Tempel ihn zu hören.

2Y vió también una viuda pobrecilla, que echaba allí dos blancas.
3Y dijo: De verdad os digo, que esta pobre viuda echó más que todos:
4Porque todos estos, de lo que les sobra echaron para las ofrendas de Dios; mas ésta de su pobreza echó todo el sustento que tenía.
5Y á unos que decían del templo, que estaba adornado de hermosas piedras y dones, dijo:
6Estas cosas que veis, días vendrán que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea destruída.
7Y le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, ¿cuándo será esto? ¿y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas hayan de comenzar á ser hechas?
8El entonces dijo: Mirad, no seáis engañados; porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy; y, El tiempo está cerca: por tanto, no vayáis en pos de ellos.
9Empero cuando oyereis guerras y sediciones, no os espantéis; porque es necesario que estas cosas acontezcan primero: mas no luego será el fin.
10Entonces les dijo: Se levantará gente contra gente, y reino contra reino;
11Y habrá grandes terremotos, y en varios lugares hambres y pestilencias: y habrá espantos y grandes señales del cielo.
12Mas antes de todas estas cosas os echarán mano, y perseguirán, entregándoos á las sinagogas y á las cárceles, siendo llevados á los reyes y á los gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.
13Y os será para testimonio.
14Poned pues en vuestros corazones no pensar antes cómo habéis de responder:
15Porque yo os daré boca y sabiduría, á la cual no podrán resistir ni contradecir todos los que se os opondrán.
16Mas seréis entregados aun de vuestros padres, y hermanos, y parientes, y amigos; y matarán á algunos de vosotros.
17Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre.
18Mas un pelo de vuestra cabeza no perecerá.
19En vuestra paciencia poseeréis vuestras almas.
20Y cuando viereis á Jerusalem cercada de ejércitos, sabed entonces que su destrucción ha llegado.
21Entonces los que estuvieren en Judea, huyan á los montes; y los que en medio de ella, váyanse; y los que estén en los campos, no entren en ella.
22Porque estos son días de venganza: para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.
23Mas ¡ay de las preñadas, y de las que crían en aquellos días! porque habrá apuro grande sobre la tierra é ira en este pueblo.
24Y caerán á filo de espada, y serán llevados cautivos á todas las naciones: y Jerusalem será hollada de las gentes, hasta que los tiempos de las gentes sean cumplidos.
25Entonces habrá señales en el sol, y en la luna, y en las estrellas; y en la tierra angustia de gentes por la confusión del sonido de la mar y de las ondas:
26Secándose los hombres á causa del temor y expectación de las cosas que sobrevendrán á la redondez de la tierra: porque las virtudes de los cielos serán conmovidas.
27Y entonces verán al Hijo del hombre, que vendrá en una nube con potestad y majestad grande.
28Y cuando estas cosas comenzaren á hacerse, mirad, y levantad vuestras cabezas, porque vuestra redención está cerca.
29Y díjoles una parábola: Mirad la higuera y todos los árboles:
30Cuando ya brotan, viéndolo, de vosotros mismos entendéis que el verano está ya cerca.
31Así también vosotros, cuando viereis hacerse estas cosas, entended que está cerca el reino de Dios.
32De cierto os digo, que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo sea hecho.
33El cielo y la tierra pasarán; mas mis palabras no pasarán.
34Y mirad por vosotros, que vuestros corazones no sean cargados de glotonería y embriaguez, y de los cuidados de esta vida, y venga de repente sobre vosotros aquel día.
35Porque como un lazo vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la faz de toda la tierra.
36Velad pues, orando en todo tiempo, que seáis tenidos por dignos de evitar todas estas cosas que han de venir, y de estar en pie delante del Hijo del hombre.
37Y enseñaba de día en el templo; y de noche saliendo, estábase en el monte que se llama de las Olivas.
38Y todo el pueblo venía á él por la mañana, para oirle en el templo.

1And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
5And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
6As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
7And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
9But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.
13And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
18But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19In your patience possess ye your souls.
20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
37And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
38And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
World English Bible
1He looked up and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.
2He saw a certain poor widow casting in two small brass coins.
3He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,
4for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”
5As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,
6“As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.”
7They asked him, “Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?”
8He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.
9When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.”
10Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
12But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.
13It will turn out as a testimony for you.
14Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,
15for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.
16You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death.
17You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.
18And not a hair of your head will perish.
19“By your endurance you will win your lives.
20“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.
21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.
22For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath to this people.
24They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
25“There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;
26men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”
29He told them a parable. “See the fig tree and all the trees.
30When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.
31Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that God’s Kingdom is near.
32Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.
33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
34“So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.
35For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.
36Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
37Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he would go out and spend the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.
38All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.
