Ellos se alegraron, y concertaron con él en cierta suma de dinero.

Jesús , pues, envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles: Id a prepararnos lo necesario para celebrar la Pascua .

And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

Les respondió: Así que entrareis en la ciudad, encontraréis un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle hasta la casa en que entre.

And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
Y dirás al padre de familia de ella: El Maestro te envía a decir: ¿Dónde está la pieza en que yo he de comer el cordero pascual con mis discípulos?
Y decid al padre de la familia de la casa: El Maestro te dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde tengo de comer la pascua con mis discípulos?
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
Y él os enseñará, en lo alto de la casa, una sala grande bien aderezada; preparad allí lo necesario.
Entonces él os mostrará un gran cenáculo aderezado; aparejad allí.
And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

Cuando se fueron, lo hallaron todo como les había dicho, y dispusieron la Pascua .

Llegada la hora, se puso a la mesa con los doce apóstoles.
Y como fué hora, sentóse á la mesa, y con él los apóstoles.
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

Y les dijo: Ardientemente he deseado comer este cordero pascual con vosotros, antes de mi pasión.

And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

Porque yo os digo, que ya no lo comeré otra vez, hasta cuando tenga su cumplimiento en el reino de Dios.

For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”
Y tomando el cáliz dio gracias a Dios, y dijo: Tomad, y distribuidlo entre vosotros;

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

porque os aseguro que ya no beberé el zumo de la vid, hasta que llegue el reino de Dios.

Después tomó el pan, dio gracias, lo partió, y se los dio, diciendo: Este es mi cuerpo, el cual se da por vosotros; haced esto en memoria mía.
Y tomando el pan, habiendo dado gracias, partió, y les dió, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado: haced esto en memoria de mí.
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Del mismo modo tomó el cáliz después que hubo cenado, diciendo: Este cáliz es la nueva alianza sellada con mi sangre, que se derramará por vosotros.
Asimismo también el vaso, después que hubo cenado, diciendo: Este vaso es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre, que por vosotros se derrama.
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Con todo, he aquí que la mano del que me hace traición está conmigo en la mesa.

Inmediatamente comenzaron a preguntarse unos a otros quién de ellos podía ser el que lo hiciese.
Ellos entonces comenzaron á preguntar entre sí, cuál de ellos sería el que había de hacer esto.
And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

Se suscitó además entre los mismos una contienda sobre quién de ellos sería considerado el mayor.

And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Mas Jesús le dijo: Los reyes de las naciones las tratan con imperio; y los que tienen autoridad sobre ellas, son llamados bienhechores.
Entonces él les dijo: Los reyes de las gentes se enseñorean de ellas; y los que sobre ellas tienen potestad, son llamados bienhechores:
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
No habéis de ser así vosotros; antes bien el mayor de entre vosotros, pórtese como el menor; y el que tiene la precedencia, como sirviente.
Mas vosotros, no así: antes el que es mayor entre vosotros, sea como el más mozo; y el que es príncipe, como el que sirve.
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
Porque, ¿quién es mayor, el que está comiendo a la mesa, o el que sirve? ¿No es claro que quien está a la mesa? No obstante, yo estoy en medio de vosotros como un sirviente.
Porque, ¿cuál es mayor, el que se sienta á la mesa, ó el que sirve? ¿No es el que se sienta á la mesa? Y yo soy entre vosotros como el que sirve.
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
Vosotros sois los que constantemente habéis perseverado conmigo en mis tribulaciones.
Empero vosotros sois los que habéis permanecido conmigo en mis tentaciones:
Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
“But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
Por eso yo os preparo el reino celestial como mi padre me lo preparó a mí;

And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
para que comáis y bebáis a mi mesa en mi reino, y os sentéis sobre tronos para juzgar a las doce tribus de Israel.

Dijo también el Señor: Simón, Simón mira que Satanás va tras de vosotros para zarandearos, como el trigo:

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Mas yo he rogado por ti a fin de que tu fe no perezca; y tú, cuando te conviertas, confirma en ella a tus hermanos.

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Señor, respondió él, yo estoy pronto a ir contigo a la cárcel y aun a la muerte.
Y él le dijo: Señor, pronto estoy á ir contigo aun á cárcel y á muerte.
And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
Pero Jesús le replicó: Yo te digo, ¡oh Pedro!, que no cantará hoy el gallo, antes que tú niegues tres veces haberme conocido. Les dijo después:
Y él dijo: Pedro, te digo que el gallo no cantará hoy antes que tú niegues tres veces que me conoces.
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
En aquel tiempo en que os envié sin bolsillo, sin alforja y sin zapatos, ¿por ventura os faltó alguna cosa?
Y á ellos dijo: Cuando os envié sin bolsa, y sin alforja, y sin zapatos, ¿os faltó algo? Y ellos dijeron: Nada.
And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
Nada, respondieron ellos. Pues ahora, prosiguió Jesús , el que tiene bolsillo, llévelo, y también alforja; y el que no tiene espada, venda su túnica, y cómprela.
Y les dijo: Pues ahora, el que tiene bolsa, tómela, y también la alforja, y el que no tiene, venda su capa y compre espada.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
Porque yo os digo, que es necesario que se cumpla en mí todavía esto que está escrito: El ha sido contado entre los malhechores. Lo cual sucederá luego; pues las cosas que de mí fueron pronunciadas, están a punto de cumplirse.
Porque os digo, que es necesario que se cumpla todavía en mí aquello que está escrito: Y con los malos fué contado: porque lo que está escrito de mí, cumplimiento tiene.
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”
Ellos dijeron: Señor, he aquí dos espadas. Pero Jesús les respondió: Basta.

And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Salió, pues, Jesús , y se fue según costumbre hacia el monte de los Olivos. Lo siguieron asimismo sus discípulos.

Y apartándose de ellos como la distancia de un tiro de piedra, hincadas las rodillas hacía oración,

En esto se le apareció un ángel del cielo, confortándole. Y entrando en agonía, oraba con mayor intensión.

Estando todavía con la palabra en la boca, sobrevino un tropel de gente, delante de la cual iba uno de los doce llamado Judas, que se arrimó a Jesús para besarle.

And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
Y Jesús le dijo: ¡Oh Judas!, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del hombre?

But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

Viendo los que acompañaban a Jesús lo que iba a suceder, le dijeron: Señor, ¿heriremos con la espada?
Y viendo los que estaban con él lo que había de ser, le dijeron: Señor, ¿heriremos á cuchillo?
When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
Y uno de ellos hirió a un criado del príncipe de los sacerdotes,y le cortó la oreja derecha.
Y uno de ellos hirió á un siervo del príncipe de los sacerdotes, y le quitó la oreja derecha.
And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
Pero Jesús , tomando la palabra, dijo luego: Dejadlo, no paséis adelante, y habiendo tocado la oreja del herido, le curó.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Dejad hasta aquí. Y tocando su oreja, le sanó.
And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear and healed him.
Dijo después Jesús a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los prefectos del templo, y a los ancianos que venían contra él: ¿Habéis salido armados con espadas y garrotes como contra un ladrón?
Y Jesús dijo á los que habían venido á él, los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los magistrados del templo, y los ancianos: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos?
Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
Aunque cada día estaba con vosotros en el templo, nunca me habéis echado la mano; mas ésta es la hora vuestra y el poder de las tinieblas.
Habiendo estado con vosotros cada día en el templo, no extendisteis las manos contra mí; mas ésta es vuestra hora, y la potestad de las tinieblas.
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

En seguida prendieron a Jesús , le condujeron a casa del sumo sacerdote; y Pedro le iba siguiendo a lo lejos.
Y prendiéndole trajéronle, y metiéronle en casa del príncipe de los sacerdotes. Y Pedro le seguía de lejos.
Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
Encendido fuego en medio del atrio, y sentándose todos a la redonda estaba también Pedro entre ellos.
Y habiendo encendido fuego en medio de la sala, y sentándose todos alrededor, se sentó también Pedro entre ellos.
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.

Al cual, como una criada le viese sentado a la lumbre, fijando en él los ojos, dijo: También éste andaba con aquel.

But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
Mas Pedro lo negó, diciendo: Mujer, no le conozco.
Entonces él lo negó, diciendo: Mujer, no le conozco.
And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
De allí a poco mirándole otro, dijo: Si, tú también eres de aquéllos. Mas Pedro le respondió: ¡Oh hombre!, no lo soy.
Y un poco después, viéndole otro, dijo: Y tú de ellos eras. Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no soy.
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
Pasada como una hora, otro distinto aseguraba lo mismo, diciendo: No hay duda, éste estaba también con él porque es igualmente de Galilea.
Y como una hora pasada otro afirmaba, diciendo: Verdaderamente también éste estaba con él, porque es Galileo.
And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilæan.
After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
A lo que Pedro respondió: Hombre, yo no entiendo lo que dices. E inmediatamente, estando todavía él hablando, cantó el gallo.
Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no sé qué dices. Y luego, estando él aún hablando, el gallo cantó.
And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
Y volviéndose el Señor, dio una mirada a Pedro. Y Pedro se acordó luego de la palabra que el Señor le había dicho: Antes que cante el gallo, tres veces me negarás.
Entonces, vuelto el Señor, miró á Pedro: y Pedro se acordó de la palabra del Señor como le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
Y habiendo salido afuera lloró amargamente.
Y saliendo fuera Pedro, lloró amargamente.
And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

Mientras tanto, los que tenían atado a Jesús , se mofaban de él, y le golpeaban.

Y cubriéndole, herían su rostro, y preguntábanle, diciendo: Profetiza quién es el que te hirió.
And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
Y repetían otros muchos insultos blasfemando contra él.
Y decían otras muchas cosas injuriándole.
And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
Luego que fue de día, se congregaron los ancianos del pueblo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y haciéndole comparecer en su concilio, le dijeron: Si tú eres el Cristo , o Mesías, dínoslo.
Y cuando fué de día, se juntaron los ancianos del pueblo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y le trajeron á su concilio,
And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
Les respondió: Si os lo dijere, no me creeréis.
Diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Cristo? dínoslo. Y les dijo: Si os lo dijere, no creeréis;
Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
Y si yo os hiciere alguna pregunta, no me responderéis, ni me dejaréis ir.
Y también si os preguntare, no me responderéis, ni me soltaréis:
And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
Pero después de ahora, el Hijo del hombre estará sentado a la diestra del poder de Dios.
Mas después de ahora el Hijo del hombre se asentará á la diestra de la potencia de Dios.
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
Dijeron entonces todos: ¿Luego tú eres el Hijo de Dios? Les respondió él: Así es, que yo soy, como vosotros decís.
Y dijeron todos: ¿Luego tú eres Hijo de Dios? Y él les dijo: Vosotros decís que yo soy.
Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
Y replicaron ellos: ¿Qué necesitamos ya buscar otros testigos, cuando nosotros mismos lo hemos oído de su propia boca?
Entonces ellos dijeron: ¿Qué más testimonio deseamos? porque nosotros lo hemos oído de su boca.
And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
