Nun erhob sich ihre ganze Versammlung, und sie führten ihn dem Pilatus vor.

LEVANTÁNDOSE entonces toda la multitud de ellos, lleváronle á Pilato.

And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.

The whole company of them rose up and brought him before Pilate.

Dort erhoben sie folgende Anklagen gegen ihn: »Wir haben festgestellt, daß dieser Mensch unser Volk aufwiegelt und es davon abhalten will, dem Kaiser Steuern zu entrichten, und daß er behauptet, er sei Christus, ein König.«

Y comenzaron á acusarle, diciendo: A éste hemos hallado que pervierte la nación, y que veda dar tributo á César, diciendo que él es el Cristo, el rey.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cæsar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”

Pilatus fragte ihn nun: »Bist du der König der Juden?«, und Jesus antwortete ihm: »Ja, ich bin es!«

Entonces Pilato le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judíos? Y respondiéndole él, dijo: Tú lo dices.

And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.

Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered him, “So you say.”

Da sagte Pilatus zu den Hohenpriestern und der Volksmenge: »Ich finde keine Schuld an diesem Manne.«

Y Pilato dijo á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á las gentes: Ninguna culpa hallo en este hombre.

Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitudes, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

Sie aber versicherten immer heftiger: »Er wiegelt das Volk auf, indem er seine Lehre im ganzen jüdischen Lande verbreitet: in Galiläa hat er damit begonnen und bis hierher es fortgesetzt!«

Mas ellos porfiaban, diciendo: Alborota al pueblo, enseñando por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea hasta aquí.

And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.

But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.”

Als Pilatus das hörte, fragte er, ob der Mann ein Galiläer wäre;

Entonces Pilato, oyendo de Galilea, preguntó si el hombre era Galileo.

When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilæan.

But when Pilate heard Galilee mentioned, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

und als er vernahm, daß er aus dem Machtbereich des Herodes sei, sandte er ihn dem Herodes zu, der in diesen Tagen ebenfalls in Jerusalem weilte.

Y como entendió que era de la jurisdicción de Herodes, le remitió á Herodes, el cual también estaba en Jerusalem en aquellos días.

And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

When he found out that he was in Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days.

Herodes aber war sehr erfreut darüber, Jesus zu sehen; denn er hätte ihn längst gern gesehen, weil er viel über ihn gehört hatte; er hoffte auch, ein Wunderzeichen von ihm vollführt zu sehen.

Y Herodes, viendo á Jesús, holgóse mucho, porque hacía mucho que deseaba verle; porque había oído de él muchas cosas, y tenía esperanza que le vería hacer alguna señal.

And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.

Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him. He hoped to see some miracle done by him.

So richtete er denn mancherlei Fragen an ihn, doch Jesus gab ihm keinerlei Antwort;

Y le preguntaba con muchas palabras; mas él nada le respondió:

Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

die Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten aber standen dabei und verklagten ihn leidenschaftlich.

Y estaban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas acusándole con gran porfía.

Da behandelte ihn denn Herodes samt den Herren seines Gefolges mit Verachtung und Hohn und sandte ihn, nachdem er ihm ein Prachtgewand hatte anlegen lassen, zu Pilatus zurück.

Mas Herodes con su corte le menospreció, y escarneció, vistiéndole de una ropa rica; y volvióle á enviar á Pilato.

And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.

An diesem Tage wurden Herodes und Pilatus miteinander befreundet, während sie vordem in Feindschaft gegeneinander gestanden hatten.

Y fueron hechos amigos entre sí Pilato y Herodes en el mismo día; porque antes eran enemigos entre sí.

And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.

Pilatus ließ nun die Hohenpriester und die Mitglieder des Hohen Rates und das Volk zusammenrufen

Entonces Pilato, convocando los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los magistrados, y el pueblo,

And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

und sagte zu ihnen: »Ihr habt mir diesen Mann als einen Volksverführer vorgeführt. Nun, ihr seht, ich habe ihn in eurem Beisein verhört, habe aber an ihm durchaus nicht die Schuld gefunden, deren ihr ihn anklagt.

Les dijo: Me habéis presentado á éste por hombre que desvía al pueblo: y he aquí, preguntando yo delante de vosotros, no he hallado culpa alguna en este hombre de aquéllas de que le acusáis.

Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:

and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one that perverts the people, and behold, having examined him before you, I found no basis for a charge against this man concerning those things of which you accuse him.

Ebensowenig auch Herodes, denn er hat ihn an uns zurückverwiesen. Ihr seht also: nichts, was die Todesstrafe verdient, ist von ihm begangen worden.

Y ni aun Herodes; porque os remití á él, y he aquí, ninguna cosa digna de muerte ha hecho.

No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

Neither has Herod, for I sent you to him, and see, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.

Darum will ich ihn geißeln lassen und dann freigeben.«

Le soltaré, pues, castigado.

I will therefore chastise him, and release him.

†Er war aber verpflichtet, ihnen an jedem Fest einen (Gefangenen) freizugeben.

Y tenía necesidad de soltarles uno en cada fiesta.

(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)

Now he had to release one prisoner to them at the feast.

Da schrien sie aber allesamt: »Hinweg mit diesem! Gib uns dagegen Barabbas frei!« –

Mas toda la multitud dió voces á una, diciendo: Quita á éste, y suéltanos á Barrabás:

And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:

But they all cried out together, saying, “Away with this man! Release to us Barabbas!”—

dieser saß nämlich wegen eines Aufruhrs, der in der Stadt vorgekommen war, und wegen Mordes im Gefängnis.

(El cual había sido echado en la cárcel por una sedición hecha en la ciudad, y una muerte.)

(Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)

one who was thrown into prison for a certain revolt in the city, and for murder.

Da redete Pilatus zum zweitenmal auf sie ein, weil er Jesus gern freigeben wollte;

Y hablóles otra vez Pilato, queriendo soltar á Jesús.

Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.

Then Pilate spoke to them again, wanting to release Jesus,

sie aber riefen ihm dagegen zu: »Kreuzige, kreuzige ihn!«

Pero ellos volvieron á dar voces, diciendo: Crucifícale, crucifícale.

But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.

but they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify him!”

Zum drittenmal fragte er sie dann: »Was hat denn dieser Mann Böses getan? Ich habe keine todeswürdige Schuld an ihm gefunden! Ich will ihn also geißeln lassen und dann freigeben.«

Y él les dijo la tercera vez: ¿Pues qué mal ha hecho éste? Ninguna culpa de muerte he hallado en él: le castigaré, pues, y le soltaré.

And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.

He said to them the third time, “Why? What evil has this man done? I have found no capital crime in him. I will therefore chastise him and release him.”

Sie aber bestürmten ihn mit lautem Geschrei und verlangten seine Kreuzigung; und ihr Geschrei drang durch.

Mas ellos instaban á grandes voces, pidiendo que fuese crucificado. Y las voces de ellos y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes crecían.

And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.

But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be crucified. Their voices and the voices of the chief priests prevailed.

So fällte denn Pilatus das Urteil, ihr Verlangen solle erfüllt werden.

Entonces Pilato juzgó que se hiciese lo que ellos pedían;

And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.

Pilate decreed that what they asked for should be done.

Er gab also den Mann frei, der wegen Aufruhrs und Mordes ins Gefängnis geworfen worden war, wie sie es verlangten; Jesus dagegen gab er ihrem Willen preis.

Y les soltó á aquél que había sido echado en la cárcel por sedición y una muerte, al cual habían pedido; y entregó á Jesús á la voluntad de ellos.

And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

He released him who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus up to their will.

Als sie ihn dann (zur Richtstätte) abführten, griffen sie einen gewissen Simon aus Cyrene auf, der vom Felde heimkam, und bürdeten ihm das Kreuz auf, damit er es Jesu nachtrüge.

Y llevándole, tomaron á un Simón Cireneo, que venía del campo, y le pusieron encima la cruz para que la llevase tras Jesús.

And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

When they led him away, they grabbed one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, and laid the cross on him to carry it after Jesus.

Es folgte ihm aber eine große Volksmenge, auch viele Frauen, die um ihn wehklagten und weinten.

Y le seguía una grande multitud de pueblo, y de mujeres, las cuales le lloraban y lamentaban.

And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.

A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him.

Da wandte Jesus sich zu ihnen um und sagte: »Ihr Töchter Jerusalems, weint nicht über mich, weint vielmehr über euch selbst und über eure Kinder!

Mas Jesús, vuelto á ellas, les dice: Hijas de Jerusalem, no me lloréis á mí, mas llorad por vosotras mismas, y por vuestros hijos.

But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, don’t weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

Denn wisset wohl: es kommen Tage, an denen man sagen wird: ›Glücklich zu preisen sind die Unfruchtbaren und die Frauen, die nicht Mutter geworden sind und die kein Kind an der Brust genährt haben!‹

Porque he aquí vendrán días en que dirán: Bienaventuradas las estériles, y los vientres que no engendraron, y los pechos que no criaron.

For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.

For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’

Dann wird man anfangen, den Bergen zuzurufen: ›Fallet auf uns!‹ und den Hügeln: ›Bedecket uns!‹

Entonces comenzarán á decir á los montes: Caed sobre nosotros: y á los collados: Cubridnos.

Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

Then they will begin to tell the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and tell the hills, ‘Cover us.’

Denn wenn man dies am grünen Holze tut, was wird da erst am dürren geschehen?«

Porque si en el árbol verde hacen estas cosas, ¿en el seco, qué se hará?

For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

For if they do these things in the green tree, what will be done in the dry?”

Es wurden aber außerdem noch zwei Verbrecher mit ihm zur Hinrichtung abgeführt.

Y llevaban también con él otros dos, malhechores, á ser muertos.

And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

There were also others, two criminals, led with him to be put to death.

Als sie nun an den Platz gekommen waren, der ›Schädel(stätte)‹ heißt, kreuzigten sie dort ihn und die beiden Verbrecher, den einen zu seiner Rechten, den anderen zu seiner Linken.

Y como vinieron al lugar que se llama de la Calavera, le crucificaron allí, y á los malhechores, uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

When they came to the place that is called “The Skull”, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

Jesus aber sprach: »Vater, vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun!« Darauf verteilten sie seine Kleidungsstücke unter sich, indem sie das Los darüber warfen;

Y Jesús decía: Padre, perdónalos, porque no saben lo que hacen. Y partiendo sus vestidos, echaron suertes.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.

und das Volk stand dabei und sah zu. Es verhöhnten (ihn) aber auch die Mitglieder des Hohen Rates mit den Worten: »Anderen hat er geholfen; so helfe er nun sich selbst, wenn er wirklich Christus, der Gesalbte Gottes, ist, der Auserwählte!«

Y el pueblo estaba mirando; y se burlaban de él los príncipes con ellos, diciendo: A otros hizo salvos: sálvese á sí, si éste es el Mesías, el escogido de Dios.

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

Auch die Soldaten verspotteten ihn: sie traten hinzu, reichten ihm Essig

Escarnecían de él también los soldados, llegándose y presentándole vinagre,

And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

und sagten: »Bist du der König der Juden, so hilf dir selbst!«

Y diciendo: Si tú eres el Rey de los Judíos, sálvate á ti mismo.

Über ihm war aber auch eine Inschrift angebracht †in griechischer, lateinischer und hebräischer Schrift: »Dies ist der König der Juden.«

Y había también sobre él un título escrito con letras griegas, y latinas, y hebraicas: ESTE ES EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Einer aber von den Verbrechern, die da gehenkt waren, schmähte ihn mit den Worten: »Du willst Christus sein? So hilf dir doch selbst und uns!«

Y uno de los malhechores que estaban colgados, le injuriaba, diciendo: Si tú eres el Cristo, sálvate á ti mismo y á nosotros.

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”

Da antwortete ihm der andere mit lautem Vorwurf: »Hast du denn nicht einmal Furcht vor Gott, da dich doch derselbe Urteilsspruch getroffen hat?

Y respondiendo el otro, reprendióle, diciendo: ¿Ni aun tú temes á Dios, estando en la misma condenación?

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?

Und zwar uns beide mit Recht, denn wir empfangen den Lohn für unsere Taten; dieser aber hat nichts Unrechtes getan!«

Y nosotros, á la verdad, justamente padecemos; porque recibimos lo que merecieron nuestros hechos: mas éste ningún mal hizo.

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

Dann fuhr er fort: »Jesus, denke an mich, wenn du in deine Königsherrschaft kommst!«

Y dijo á Jesús: Acuérdate de mí cuando vinieres á tu reino.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: »Wahrlich ich sage dir: Heute (noch) wirst du mit mir im Paradiese sein!«

Entonces Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo, que hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Es war nunmehr um die sechste Stunde: da kam eine Finsternis über das ganze Land bis zur neunten Stunde,

Y cuando era como la hora de sexta, fueron hechas tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

indem die Sonne ihren Schein verlor; und der Vorhang im Tempel riß mitten entzwei.

Y el sol se obscureció: y el velo del templo se rompió por medio.

And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

Da rief Jesus mit lauter Stimme die Worte aus: »Vater, in deine Hände befehle ich meinen Geist!«, und nach diesen Worten verschied er.

Entonces Jesús, clamando á gran voz, dijo: Padre, en tus manos encomiendo mi espíritu. Y habiendo dicho esto, espiró.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” Having said this, he breathed his last.

Als nun der Hauptmann sah, was geschehen war, pries er Gott und sagte: »Dieser Mann ist wirklich ein Gerechter gewesen!«

Y como el centurión vió lo que había acontecido, dió gloria á Dios, diciendo: Verdaderamente este hombre era justo.

Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

Und die ganze Volksmenge, die zu diesem Schauspiel zusammengekommen war und alles sah, was sich zugetragen hatte, schlug sich an die Brust und kehrte heim.

Y toda la multitud de los que estaban presentes á este espectáculo, viendo lo que había acontecido, se volvían hiriendo sus pechos.

And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned home beating their chests.

Alle seine Bekannten aber standen von ferne, auch die Frauen, die ihm aus Galiläa nachgefolgt waren und dies alles mit ansahen.

Mas todos sus conocidos, y las mujeres que le habían seguido desde Galilea, estaban lejos mirando estas cosas.

And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

All his acquaintances and the women who followed with him from Galilee stood at a distance, watching these things.

Und siehe, ein Mann namens Joseph, der ein Mitglied des Hohen Rates war, ein guter und gerechter Mann –

And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:

er war mit ihrem Beschluß und ihrer Handlungsweise nicht einverstanden gewesen – aus der jüdischen Stadt Arimathäa, der auf das Reich Gottes wartete:

(El cual no había consentido en el consejo ni en los hechos de ellos), de Arimatea, ciudad de la Judea, el cual también esperaba el reino de Dios;

(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathæa, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

(he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who was also waiting for God’s Kingdom.

dieser ging zu Pilatus und bat ihn um den Leichnam Jesu.

Este llegó á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.

This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.

This man went to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

Dann nahm er ihn (vom Kreuz) herab, wickelte ihn in feine Leinwand und legte ihn in ein Grab, das in den Felsen gehauen und in welchem bisher noch niemand beigesetzt worden war.

Y quitado, lo envolvió en una sábana, y le puso en un sepulcro abierto en una peña, en el cual ninguno había aún sido puesto.

And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

Es war aber der Rüsttag, und der Sabbat wollte anbrechen.

And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.

It was the day of the Preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.

Die Frauen aber, die ihn aus Galiläa begleitet hatten, waren mitgegangen und hatten sich das Grab und die Beisetzung seines Leichnams angesehen.

Y las mujeres que con él habían venido de Galilea, siguieron también y vieron el sepulcro, y cómo fué puesto su cuerpo.

And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

The women who had come with him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.

Nachdem sie hierauf (in die Stadt) zurückgekehrt waren, besorgten sie wohlriechende Stoffe und Salben und brachten dann den Sabbat nach der Vorschrift des Gesetzes in der Stille zu.

Y vueltas, aparejaron drogas aromáticas y ungüentos; y reposaron el sábado, conforme al mandamiento.

And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
