Lucas 23

Então resolveram levar Jesus ao governador Pilatos.

LEVANTÁNDOSE entonces toda la multitud de ellos, lleváronle á Pilato.

And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.

The whole company of them rose up and brought him before Pilate.

Começaram logo a acusá-lo: “Ele tem levado o nosso povo à ruína, dizendo que não pague seus impostos a César e alegando ser ele mesmo o Cristo, o rei”.

Y comenzaron á acusarle, diciendo: A éste hemos hallado que pervierte la nación, y que veda dar tributo á César, diciendo que él es el Cristo, el rey.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cæsar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”

Então Pilatos perguntou-lhe: “Você é o rei dos judeus?” “É o senhor quem está dizendo”, respondeu Jesus.

Entonces Pilato le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judíos? Y respondiéndole él, dijo: Tú lo dices.

And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.

Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered him, “So you say.”

Depois Pilatos voltou-se para os sacerdotes principais e a multidão, e disse: “Não vejo nesse homem nenhum motivo de acusação!”

Y Pilato dijo á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á las gentes: Ninguna culpa hallo en este hombre.

Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitudes, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

Mas eles insistiram: “Acontece que ele está provocando revoltas contra o governo nos diversos lugares aonde vai, em toda a Judeia, na Galileia e agora aqui!”

Mas ellos porfiaban, diciendo: Alborota al pueblo, enseñando por toda Judea, comenzando desde Galilea hasta aquí.

And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.

But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.”

“Então ele é galileu?”, perguntou Pilatos.

Entonces Pilato, oyendo de Galilea, preguntó si el hombre era Galileo.

When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilæan.

But when Pilate heard Galilee mentioned, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

Quando eles disseram que sim, Pilatos ordenou que o levassem ao rei Herodes, porque a Galileia estava sob o comando de Herodes. Acontece que Herodes estava em Jerusalém naqueles dias.

Y como entendió que era de la jurisdicción de Herodes, le remitió á Herodes, el cual también estaba en Jerusalem en aquellos días.

And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

When he found out that he was in Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days.

Herodes ficou alegre com a oportunidade de ver Jesus, porque tinha ouvido falar a seu respeito e esperava vê-lo realizar um milagre.

Y Herodes, viendo á Jesús, holgóse mucho, porque hacía mucho que deseaba verle; porque había oído de él muchas cosas, y tenía esperanza que le vería hacer alguna señal.

And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.

Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him. He hoped to see some miracle done by him.

Ele fez a Jesus uma pergunta atrás da outra, mas não obteve nenhuma resposta.

Y le preguntaba con muchas palabras; mas él nada le respondió:

Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

He questioned him with many words, but he gave no answers.

Enquanto isso, os sacerdotes principais e os mestres da lei permaneciam ali gritando suas acusações.

Y estaban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas acusándole con gran porfía.

And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.

The chief priests and the scribes stood, vehemently accusing him.

Então Herodes e seus soldados começaram a zombar dele e a ridicularizá-lo. Vestiram nele um manto real e o mandaram de volta a Pilatos.

Mas Herodes con su corte le menospreció, y escarneció, vistiéndole de una ropa rica; y volvióle á enviar á Pilato.

And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.

Naquele dia Herodes e Pilatos — que antes eram inimigos — tornaram-se amigos.

Y fueron hechos amigos entre sí Pilato y Herodes en el mismo día; porque antes eran enemigos entre sí.

And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.

Então Pilatos reuniu os sacerdotes principais e as outras autoridades judaicas, juntamente com o povo,

Entonces Pilato, convocando los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los magistrados, y el pueblo,

And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

e anunciou sua sentença: “Vocês me trouxeram este homem acusando-o de provocar uma revolta contra o governo. Eu o interroguei na presença de vocês e não encontro nenhuma base para as acusações que fazem contra ele.

Les dijo: Me habéis presentado á éste por hombre que desvía al pueblo: y he aquí, preguntando yo delante de vosotros, no he hallado culpa alguna en este hombre de aquéllas de que le acusáis.

Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:

and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one that perverts the people, and behold, having examined him before you, I found no basis for a charge against this man concerning those things of which you accuse him.

Herodes chegou à mesma conclusão e o devolveu a nós. Nada do que este homem tem feito merece a pena de morte.

Y ni aun Herodes; porque os remití á él, y he aquí, ninguna cosa digna de muerte ha hecho.

No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

Neither has Herod, for I sent you to him, and see, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.

Portanto, eu mandarei açoitá-lo e o soltarei”.

Le soltaré, pues, castigado.

I will therefore chastise him, and release him.

Na Festa da Páscoa, Pilatos tinha o costume de soltar um preso, a pedido do povo.

Y tenía necesidad de soltarles uno en cada fiesta.

(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)

Now he had to release one prisoner to them at the feast.

Mas nesse momento um poderoso clamor levantou-se da multidão, como se fosse uma só voz: “Mate-o, e solte-nos Barrabás!”

Mas toda la multitud dió voces á una, diciendo: Quita á éste, y suéltanos á Barrabás:

And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:

But they all cried out together, saying, “Away with this man! Release to us Barabbas!”—

Barrabás estava na prisão por ter começado em Jerusalém uma revolta contra o governo e por ter praticado um assassinato.

(El cual había sido echado en la cárcel por una sedición hecha en la ciudad, y una muerte.)

(Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)

one who was thrown into prison for a certain revolt in the city, and for murder.

Pilatos discutia com eles, porque queria soltar Jesus.

Y hablóles otra vez Pilato, queriendo soltar á Jesús.

Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.

Then Pilate spoke to them again, wanting to release Jesus,

Porém eles continuavam gritando: “Crucifique! Crucifique!”

Pero ellos volvieron á dar voces, diciendo: Crucifícale, crucifícale.

But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.

but they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify him!”

Pela terceira vez, ele perguntou: “Por quê? Que crime ele cometeu? Eu não achei razão nenhuma para condená-lo. Portanto, será castigado e solto”.

Y él les dijo la tercera vez: ¿Pues qué mal ha hecho éste? Ninguna culpa de muerte he hallado en él: le castigaré, pues, y le soltaré.

And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.

He said to them the third time, “Why? What evil has this man done? I have found no capital crime in him. I will therefore chastise him and release him.”

Porém eles gritavam cada vez mais alto pedindo a morte de Jesus. E o pedido deles prevaleceu.

Mas ellos instaban á grandes voces, pidiendo que fuese crucificado. Y las voces de ellos y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes crecían.

And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.

But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be crucified. Their voices and the voices of the chief priests prevailed.

Portanto, Pilatos sentenciou Jesus à morte conforme a vontade daquelas pessoas.

Entonces Pilato juzgó que se hiciese lo que ellos pedían;

And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.

Pilate decreed that what they asked for should be done.

E soltou Barrabás, o homem preso por revolta e assassinato, a pedido deles. Mas entregou-lhes Jesus, para fazerem com ele o que quisessem.

Y les soltó á aquél que había sido echado en la cárcel por sedición y una muerte, al cual habían pedido; y entregó á Jesús á la voluntad de ellos.

And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

He released him who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus up to their will.

Enquanto a multidão estava levando Jesus para a morte, Simão de Cirene, que estava naquela hora chegando do campo, foi obrigado a carregar a cruz de Jesus.

Y llevándole, tomaron á un Simón Cireneo, que venía del campo, y le pusieron encima la cruz para que la llevase tras Jesús.

And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

When they led him away, they grabbed one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, and laid the cross on him to carry it after Jesus.

Grandes multidões o seguiam, e muitas mulheres, que lamentavam e choravam por ele.

Y le seguía una grande multitud de pueblo, y de mujeres, las cuales le lloraban y lamentaban.

And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.

A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him.

Mas Jesus voltou-se e lhes disse: “Filhas de Jerusalém, não chorem por mim, mas por vocês mesmas e por seus filhos.

Mas Jesús, vuelto á ellas, les dice: Hijas de Jerusalem, no me lloréis á mí, mas llorad por vosotras mismas, y por vuestros hijos.

But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, don’t weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

Porque estão chegando dias em que vocês dirão: ‘Felizes as mulheres que não tiverem filhos, os ventres que nunca geraram e os seios que nunca amamentaram’.

Porque he aquí vendrán días en que dirán: Bienaventuradas las estériles, y los vientres que no engendraron, y los pechos que no criaron.

For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.

For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’

Nesses dias, ‘todos dirão às montanhas: “Caiam em cima de nós!” e dirão às colinas: “Cubram-nos!” ’

Entonces comenzarán á decir á los montes: Caed sobre nosotros: y á los collados: Cubridnos.

Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

Then they will begin to tell the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and tell the hills, ‘Cover us.’

Pois, se fazem estas coisas à árvore verde, o que não farão quando ela estiver seca?”

Porque si en el árbol verde hacen estas cosas, ¿en el seco, qué se hará?

For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

For if they do these things in the green tree, what will be done in the dry?”

Outros dois, que eram criminosos, foram conduzidos para fora, a fim de serem executados com Jesus.

Y llevaban también con él otros dos, malhechores, á ser muertos.

And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

There were also others, two criminals, led with him to be put to death.

Quando chegaram ao lugar chamado Caveira, ali todos os três foram crucificados — Jesus na cruz do meio, e os dois criminosos, um de cada lado.

Y como vinieron al lugar que se llama de la Calavera, le crucificaron allí, y á los malhechores, uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

When they came to the place that is called “The Skull”, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

Jesus disse: “Pai, perdoa-lhes, porque não sabem o que estão fazendo”. Os soldados tiraram sortes sobre a roupa dele, jogando dados para cada peça.

Y Jesús decía: Padre, perdónalos, porque no saben lo que hacen. Y partiendo sus vestidos, echaron suertes.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.

A multidão olhava. E os líderes riam e caçoavam dele. “Ele foi tão bom salvando os outros”, diziam, “vamos ver se ele se salva a si mesmo, se é o Cristo de Deus, o Escolhido”.

Y el pueblo estaba mirando; y se burlaban de él los príncipes con ellos, diciendo: A otros hizo salvos: sálvese á sí, si éste es el Mesías, el escogido de Dios.

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

Os soldados também caçoavam dele, oferecendo-lhe vinagre para beber.

Escarnecían de él también los soldados, llegándose y presentándole vinagre,

And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

E lhe diziam: “Se você é de fato o rei dos judeus, salve-se a si mesmo!”

Y diciendo: Si tú eres el Rey de los Judíos, sálvate á ti mismo.

And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”

Na cruz, por cima dele, estava escrito: “ESTE É O REI DOS JUDEUS”.

Y había también sobre él un título escrito con letras griegas, y latinas, y hebraicas: ESTE ES EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

An inscription was also written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Um dos criminosos ao lado zombava: “Então você é o Cristo, não é? Prove isso, salvando-se a si mesmo e a nós também!”

Y uno de los malhechores que estaban colgados, le injuriaba, diciendo: Si tú eres el Cristo, sálvate á ti mismo y á nosotros.

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”

Mas o outro criminoso o repreendeu, dizendo: “Você não teme a Deus, nem estando sob a mesma sentença?

Y respondiendo el otro, reprendióle, diciendo: ¿Ni aun tú temes á Dios, estando en la misma condenación?

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?

Nós merecemos morrer pelos nossos crimes, mas este homem não cometeu nenhum mal”.

Y nosotros, á la verdad, justamente padecemos; porque recibimos lo que merecieron nuestros hechos: mas éste ningún mal hizo.

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

E em seguida disse: “Jesus, lembre-se de mim quando o Senhor entrar em seu Reino”.

Y dijo á Jesús: Acuérdate de mí cuando vinieres á tu reino.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

He said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

E Jesus respondeu: “Eu afirmo a você: Hoje você estará comigo no paraíso”.

Entonces Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo, que hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

A esta altura era meio-dia, e a escuridão cobriu toda a terra até as 3 horas da tarde.

Y cuando era como la hora de sexta, fueron hechas tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.

A luz do sol desapareceu — e de repente o véu do santuário rasgou-se no meio.

Y el sol se obscureció: y el velo del templo se rompió por medio.

And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

Nessa hora Jesus gritou em alta voz: “Pai, nas tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito”, e, com estas palavras, morreu.

Entonces Jesús, clamando á gran voz, dijo: Padre, en tus manos encomiendo mi espíritu. Y habiendo dicho esto, espiró.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” Having said this, he breathed his last.

Quando o centurião que dirigia as execuções viu o que tinha acontecido, louvou a Deus e disse: “Verdadeiramente este homem era inocente”.

Y como el centurión vió lo que había acontecido, dió gloria á Dios, diciendo: Verdaderamente este hombre era justo.

Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous man.”

E a multidão que veio para ver a crucificação, quando viu que Jesus estava morto, começou a bater no peito e a afastar-se.

Y toda la multitud de los que estaban presentes á este espectáculo, viendo lo que había acontecido, se volvían hiriendo sus pechos.

And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned home beating their chests.

Enquanto isso, os amigos de Jesus, incluindo as mulheres que o seguiram desde a Galileia, estavam olhando de longe, observando essas coisas.

Mas todos sus conocidos, y las mujeres que le habían seguido desde Galilea, estaban lejos mirando estas cosas.

And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

All his acquaintances and the women who followed with him from Galilee stood at a distance, watching these things.

Havia um homem chamado José, membro do Conselho, homem bom e justo,

Y he aquí un varón llamado José, el cual era senador, varón bueno y justo,

And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:

Behold, there was a man named Joseph, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man

que não concordava com a decisão e os atos dos outros líderes judaicos. Ele era de Arimateia, na Judeia, e esperava a vinda do Reino de Deus.

(El cual no había consentido en el consejo ni en los hechos de ellos), de Arimatea, ciudad de la Judea, el cual también esperaba el reino de Dios;

(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathæa, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

(he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who was also waiting for God’s Kingdom.

José foi a Pilatos e pediu o corpo de Jesus.

Este llegó á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.

This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.

This man went to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

Assim ele desceu o corpo de Jesus da cruz e o enrolou numa longa peça de linho, colocando o corpo num sepulcro novo, cavado na rocha, que ainda não havia sido usado.

Y quitado, lo envolvió en una sábana, y le puso en un sepulcro abierto en una peña, en el cual ninguno había aún sido puesto.

And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

He took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no one had ever been laid.

Isso foi feito bem à tardinha, na sexta-feira, o Dia da Preparação; e estava para começar o sábado.

Y era día de la víspera de la Pascua; y estaba para rayar el sábado.

And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.

It was the day of the Preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.

As mulheres da Galileia seguiram José e viram o sepulcro, e como o corpo de Jesus fora carregado para dentro do sepulcro.

Y las mujeres que con él habían venido de Galilea, siguieron también y vieron el sepulcro, y cómo fué puesto su cuerpo.

And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

The women who had come with him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.

Dali elas foram para casa e prepararam perfumes para embalsamar o corpo. E descansaram no sábado, conforme o mandamento da lei dos judeus.

Y vueltas, aparejaron drogas aromáticas y ungüentos; y reposaron el sábado, conforme al mandamiento.

And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
