Or il arriva, en ces jours-là, qu'un décret fut publié de la part de César Auguste, ordonnant un recensement de toute la terre.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Et il y avait dans la même contrée des bergers qui demeuraient aux champs et gardaient leurs troupeaux pendant les veilles de la nuit.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Et un ange du Seigneur se présenta à eux, et la gloire du Seigneur resplendit autour d'eux, et ils furent saisis d'une grande crainte.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Et l'ange leur dit : Ne craignez point, car voici je vous annonce la bonne nouvelle d'une grande joie, qui sera pour tout le peuple :

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

C'est qu'aujourd'hui, dans la ville de David, vous est né un Sauveur, qui est Christ, Seigneur.

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Et ceci en sera pour vous le signe : vous trouverez un petit enfant emmailloté dans une crèche.

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

Et soudain, il y eut, avec l'ange, une multitude de l'armée céleste, louant Dieu et disant :

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Gloire à Dieu, dans les lieux très hauts et paix sur la terre ! bienveillance envers les hommes !

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Et il arriva, lorsque les anges s'en furent allés d'avec eux dans le ciel, que les bergers se dirent les uns aux autres : Allons donc jusqu'à Bethléhem, et voyons cet événement qui est arrivé et que le Seigneur nous a fait connaître.

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Et ils y allèrent en hâte, et ils trouvèrent Marie et Joseph, et le petit enfant couché dans la crèche.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Et l'ayant vu, ils firent connaître la parole qui leur avait été dite au sujet de ce petit enfant,

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Et tous ceux qui entendirent furent dans l'étonnement des choses qui leur étaient dites par les bergers.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

et pour offrir le sacrifice, selon ce qui est prescrit dans la loi du Seigneur : une paire de tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

et il vint dans le temple poussé par l'Esprit. Et comme les parents amenaient le petit enfant Jésus, pour faire à son égard ce qui est en usage selon la loi,

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

car mes yeux ont vu ton salut,

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

que tu as préparé en présence de tous les peuples,

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

lumière pour éclairer les nations et gloire de ton peuple d'Israël.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Et son père et sa mère étaient dans l'étonnement des choses qui étaient dites de lui.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Et Siméon les bénit, et dit à Marie sa mère : Voici, celui-ci est destiné à être une occasion de chute et de relèvement pour plusieurs en Israël, et à être un signe auquel on contredira ;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

et toi-même, une épée te transpercera l'âme ; afin que les pensées du cœur de plusieurs soient révélées.

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Et il y avait Anne, prophétesse, fille de Phanuel, de la tribu d'Asser. Elle était fort avancée en âge ; elle avait vécu avec son mari sept ans, depuis sa virginité,

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

Elle aussi, étant survenue à cette même heure, louait Dieu et parlait de lui à tous ceux qui attendaient la délivrance de Jérusalem.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Et après qu'ils eurent tout accompli selon la loi du Seigneur, ils retournèrent en Galilée, à Nazareth, leur ville.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Cependant le petit enfant croissait et se fortifiait, étant rempli de sagesse, et la grâce de Dieu était sur lui.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Et il leur dit : Pourquoi me cherchiez-vous ? Ne saviez-vous pas qu'il me faut être aux affaires de mon Père ?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Et eux ne comprirent point la parole qu'il leur avait dite.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Et il descendit avec eux et vint à Nazareth, et il leur était soumis. Et sa mère conservait toutes ces choses dans son cœur.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
