Es begab sich aber zu der Zeit, daß ein Gebot vom Kaiser Augustus ausging, daß alle Welt geschatzt wurde.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Da machte sich auch auf Joseph aus Galilaa, aus der Stadt Nazareth, in das judische Land zur Stadt Davids die da heiftt Bethlehem, darum daß er von dem Hause und Geschlechte Davids war,

Und als sie daselbst waren, kam die Zeit, daß sie gebaren sollte.

Y aconteció que estando ellos allí, se cumplieron los días en que ella había de parir.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.

Und sie gebar ihren ersten Sohn und wickelte ihn in Windeln und legte ihn in eine Krippe; denn sie hatten sonst keinen Raum in der Herberge.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Und es waren Hirten in derselbigen Gegend auf dem Felde bei den Hurden, die huteten des Nachts ihre Herde.

Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

und siehe des Herm Engel trat zu ihnen, und die Klarheit des Herm leuchtete urn sie, und sie furchteten sich sehr.

Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Und der Engel sprach zu ihnen: Furchtet euch nicht! Siehe, ich verkundige euch grofte Freude, die allem Volk widerfahren wird;

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

denn euch ist heute der Heiland geboren, welcher ist Christus, der Herr, in der Stadt Davids.

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Und das habtzum Zeichen: Ihrwerdetfinden das Kind in Windeln gewickelt und in einer Krippe liegen.

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

Und alsbald war da bei dem Engel die Menge der himmlischen Heerscharen, die lobten Gott und sprachen:

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe und Friede auf Erden und den Menschen ein Wohlgefallen!

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Und da die Engel von ihnen gen Himmel fuhren, sprachen die Hirten untereinander: Laftt uns nun gehen gen Bethlehem und die Geschichte sehen, die da geschehen ist, die uns der Herr kundgetan hat.

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Und sie kamen eilend und fanden beide, Maria und Joseph, dazu das Kind in der Krippe liegen.

Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Da sie es aber gesehen hatten, breiteten sie das Wort aus, welches zu ihnen von diesem Kind gesagt war.

Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Und alle, vor die es kam, wunderten sich der Rede, die ihnen die Hirten gesagt hatten.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Maria aber behielt alle diese Worte und bewegete sie in ihrem Herzen.

Und die Hirten kehreten wieder urn, preiseten und lobten Gott urn alles, was sie gehoret und gesehen hatten, wie denn zu ihnen gesagt war.

Und da die Tage ihrer Reinigung nach dem Gesetz. Moses kamen, brachten sie ihn gen Jerusalem, daß sie ihn darstelleten dem Herm

Y como se cumplieron los días de la purificación de ella, conforme á la ley de Moisés, le trajeron á Jerusalem para presentarle al Señor,

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

und daß sie gaben das Opfer, nachdem gesagt ist im Gesetz des Herm, ein Paar Turteltauben Oder zwo junge Tauben.

Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

Und siehe, ein Mensch war zu Jerusalem mit Namen Simeon; und derselbe Mensch war fromm und gottesfurchtig und wartete auf den Trost Israels; und der Heilige Geist war in ihm.

Und ihm war eine Antwort worden von dem Heiligen Geist, er sollte den Tod nicht sehen, er hatte denn zuvor den Christ des Herrn gesehen.

Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Und kam aus Anregen des Geistes in den Tempel. Und da die Eltern das Kind Jesus in den Tempel brachten, daß sie fur ihn taten, wie man pfleget nach dem Gesetz,

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

da nahm er ihn auf seine Arme und lobete Gott und sprach:

Herr, nun lassestdu deinen Diener im Frieden fahren, wie du gesagt hast;

Ahora despides, Señor, á tu siervo, conforme á tu palabra, en paz;

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

denn meine Augen haben deinen Heiland gesehen,

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

welchen du bereitet hast vor alien Volkern,

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

ein Licht, zu erleuchten die Heiden, und zum Preis deines Volks Israel.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Und sein Vater und Mutter wunderten sich des, das von ihm geredet ward.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him.

Und Simeon segnete sie und sprach zu Maria, seiner Mutter: Siehe, dieser wird gesetzt zu einem Fall und Auferstehen vieler in Israel und zu einem Zeichen, dem widersprochen wird

Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

(und es wird ein Schwert durch deine Seele dringen), auf daß vieler Herzen Gedanken offenbar werden.

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Und es war eine Prophetin, Hanna, eine Tochter Phanuels, vom Geschlecht Asser; die warwohl betaget und hatte gelebt sieben Jahre mit ihrem Manne nach ihrer Jungfrauschaft

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

und war nun eine Witwe bei vierundachtzig Jahren; die kam nimmervom Tempel, dienete Gott mit Fasten und Beten Tag und Nacht:

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

Dieselbige trat auch hinzu zu derselbigen Stunde und preisete den Herm und redete von ihm zu alien, die da auf die Erlosung zu Jerusalem warteten.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

Und da sie es alles vollendet hatten nach dem Gesetz des Herm, kehrten sie wieder nach Galilaa zu ihrer Stadt Nazareth.

Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Aber das Kind wuchs und ward stark im Geist, voller Weisheit; und Gottes Gnade war bei ihm.

Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Und seine Eltern gingen alle Jahre gen Jerusalem auf das Osterfest.

E iban sus padres todos los años á Jerusalem en la fiesta de la Pascua.

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

Und da er zwolf Jahre alt war, gingen sie hinauf gen Jerusalem nach Gewohnheit des Festes.

Y cuando fué de doce años, subieron ellos á Jerusalem conforme á la costumbre del día de la fiesta.

And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

Sie meineten aber, erware unter den Gefahrten, und kamen eine Tagereise und suchten ihn unter den Gefreundeten und Bekannten.

Y pensando que estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos:

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

Und da sie ihn nicht fanden gingen siewiederum gen Jerusalem und suchten ihn.

Mas como no le hallasen, volvieron á Jerusalem buscándole.

When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.

Und begab sich, nach dreien Tagen fanden sie ihn im Tempel sitzen mitten unter den Lehrern, daß er ihnen zuhorete und sie fragete.

Y aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo, sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Und alle, die ihm zuhoreten, verwunderten sich seines Verstandes und seiner Antwort.

Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas.

And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Und da sie ihn sahen, entsetzten sie sich. Und seine Mutter sprach zu ihm: Mein Sohn, warum hast du uns das getan? Siehe, dein Vater und ich haben dich mit Schmerzen gesucht.

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was ist's, daß ihr mich gesucht habt? Wisset ihr nicht, daß ich sein muß in dem, was meines Vaters ist?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Und sie verstunden das Wort nicht, das er mit ihnen redete.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Und er ging mit ihnen hinab und kam gen Nazareth und war ihnen untertan. Und seine Mutter behielt alle diese Worte in ihrem Herzen.

Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Und Jesus nahm zu an Weisheit, Alter und Gnade bei Gott und den Menschen.

Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, y en edad, y en gracia para con Dios y los hombres.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
