Or il arriva, en ces jours-là, qu’un décret fut rendu de la part de César Auguste, †portant qu’il soit fait un recensement de toute la terre habitée.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Et il arriva, pendant qu’ils étaient là, que les jours où elle devait accoucher s’accomplirent ;

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.

et elle mit au monde son fils premier-né, et l’emmaillota, et le coucha dans la crèche, parce qu’il n’y avait pas de place pour eux dans l’hôtellerie.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Et il y avait dans la même contrée des bergers demeurant aux champs, et gardant leur troupeau durant les veilles de la nuit.

Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.

Et voici, un ange du ✶Seigneur se trouva avec eux, et la gloire du ✶Seigneur resplendit autour d’eux ; et ils furent saisis d’une fort grande peur.

Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Et l’ange leur dit : N’ayez point de peur, car voici, je vous annonce un grand sujet de joie qui sera pour tout le peuple ;

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.

car aujourd’hui, dans la cité de David, vous est né un sauveur, qui est le Christ, le Seigneur.

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Et ceci en est le signe pour vous, c’est que vous trouverez un petit enfant emmailloté et couché dans une crèche.

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

Et soudain il y eut avec l’ange une multitude de l’armée céleste, louant Dieu, et disant :

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Gloire à Dieu dans les lieux très hauts ; et sur la terre, paix ; et bon plaisir dans les hommes !

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Et il arriva, lorsque les anges s’en furent allés d’avec eux au ciel, que les bergers dirent entre eux : Allons donc jusqu’à Bethléhem, et voyons cette chose qui est arrivée que le ✶Seigneur nous a fait connaître.

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Et ils allèrent en hâte, et ils trouvèrent Marie et Joseph, et le petit enfant couché dans la crèche.

Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Et l’ayant vu, ils divulguèrent la parole qui leur avait été dite touchant ce petit enfant.

Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Et tous ceux qui l’entendirent s’étonnèrent des choses qui leur étaient dites par les bergers.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Et Marie gardait toutes ces choses par-devers elle, les repassant dans son cœur.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Et quand les jours de leur purification, selon la loi de Moïse, furent accomplis, ils le portèrent à Jérusalem, pour le présenter au ✶Seigneur

et pour offrir un sacrifice, selon ce qui est prescrit dans la loi du ✶Seigneur, une paire de tourterelles ou deux jeunes colombes.

Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

Et il avait été averti divinement par l’Esprit Saint qu’il ne verrait pas la mort, que premièrement il n’ait vu le Christ du ✶Seigneur.

Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Et il vint par l’Esprit dans le temple ; et comme les parents apportaient le petit enfant Jésus pour faire à son égard selon l’usage de la loi,

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

il le prit entre ses bras et bénit Dieu et dit :

Maintenant, Seigneur, tu laisses aller ton esclave en paix selon ta parole ;

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

car mes yeux ont vu ton salut,

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

lequel tu as préparé devant la face de tous les peuples :

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

une lumière pour la révélation des nations, et la gloire de ton peuple Israël.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Et son père et sa mère s’étonnaient des choses qui étaient dites de lui.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him.

Et Siméon les bénit et dit à Marie sa mère : Voici, celui-ci est mis pour la chute et le relèvement de plusieurs en Israël, et pour un signe que l’on contredira

Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

(et même une épée transpercera ta propre âme), en sorte que les pensées de plusieurs cœurs soient révélées.

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Et il y avait Anne, une prophétesse, fille de Phanuel, de la tribu d’Aser (elle était fort avancée en âge, ayant vécu avec un mari sept ans depuis sa virginité,

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

et veuve d’environ 84 ans), qui ne quittait pas le temple, servant †Dieu en jeûnes et en prières, nuit et jour ;

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

celle-ci, survenant en ce même moment, louait le ✶Seigneur, et parlait de lui à tous ceux qui, à Jérusalem, attendaient la délivrance.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

Et quand ils eurent tout accompli selon la loi du ✶Seigneur, ils s’en retournèrent en Galilée, à Nazareth, leur ville.

Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Et l’enfant croissait et se fortifiait, étant rempli de sagesse ; et la faveur de Dieu était sur lui.

Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Et ses parents allaient chaque année à Jérusalem, à la fête de Pâque.

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

Et il arriva qu’après trois jours ils le trouvèrent dans le temple, assis au milieu des docteurs, les écoutant et les interrogeant.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Et tous ceux qui l’entendaient s’étonnaient de son intelligence et de ses réponses.

Et quand ils le virent, ils furent frappés d’étonnement, et sa mère lui dit : Mon enfant, pourquoi nous as-tu fait ainsi ? Voici, ton père et moi nous te cherchions, étant en grande peine.

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Et il leur dit : Pourquoi me cherchiez-vous ? Ne saviez-vous pas qu’il me faut être aux affaires de mon Père ?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Et ils ne comprirent pas la parole qu’il leur disait.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Et il descendit avec eux, et vint à Nazareth, et leur était soumis. Et sa mère conservait toutes ces paroles dans son cœur.

Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Et Jésus avançait en sagesse et en stature, et en faveur auprès de Dieu et des hommes.
