Il disait donc aux foules, qui sortaient pour être baptisées par lui : Race de vipères, qui vous a appris à fuir la colère à venir ?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Et les foules l'interrogeaient disant : Qu'avons-nous donc à faire ?
Y las gentes le preguntaban, diciendo: ¿Pues qué haremos?
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
The multitudes asked him, “What then must we do?”
Et répondant, il leur disait : Que celui qui a deux tuniques en fasse part à celui qui n'en a point ; et que celui qui a des aliments en agisse de même.
Y respondiendo, les dijo: El que tiene dos túnicas, dé al que no tiene; y el que tiene qué comer, haga lo mismo.
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

En faisant ainsi ces nombreuses exhortations, et d'autres semblables, il annonçait la bonne nouvelle au peuple.
Y amonestando, otras muchas cosas también anunciaba al pueblo.
And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.
