Lucas 3

No décimo quinto ano do reinado do imperador Tibério César, Pilatos era governador da Judeia; Herodes, o tetrarca da Galileia; seu irmão Filipe, tetrarca da Itureia e Traconites; e Lisânias, tetrarca de Abilene;

Y EN el año quince del imperio de Tiberio César, siendo gobernador de Judea Poncio Pilato, y Herodes tetrarca de Galilea, y su hermano Felipe tetrarca de Iturea y de la provincia de Traconite, y Lisanias tetrarca de Abilinia,

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cæsar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judæa, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

Anás e Caifás eram os sumos sacerdotes judaicos. Foi nesse ano que veio uma mensagem do Senhor a João, filho de Zacarias, enquanto ele estava no deserto.

Siendo sumos sacerdotes Anás y Caifás, vino palabra del Señor sobre Juan, hijo de Zacarías, en el desierto.

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.

Então João ia de lugar em lugar, em ambos os lados do rio Jordão, pregando que as pessoas deviam batizar-se para mostrar que se haviam voltado para Deus e abandonado seus pecados, a fim de serem perdoadas.

Y él vino por toda la tierra al rededor del Jordán predicando el bautismo del arrepentimiento para la remisión de pecados;

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Como está escrito no livro das palavras do profeta Isaías: “Ouçam! Estou ouvindo uma voz que clama: ‘Preparem um caminho para o Senhor através do deserto; preparem um caminho reto e plano no deserto para o nosso Deus.

Como está escrito en el libro de las palabras del profeta Isaías que dice: Voz del que clama en el desierto: Aparejad el camino del Señor, haced derechas sus sendas.

As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.

Aterrem os vales, nivelem os montes e colinas; endireitem os caminhos tortos e deixem perfeitamente planos os lugares por onde ele passar.

Todo valle se henchirá, y bajaráse todo monte y collado; y los caminos torcidos serán enderezados, y los caminos ásperos allanados;

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

Every valley will be filled. Every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth.

A glória do Senhor será revelada e vista por todos as pessoas’ ”.

Y verá toda carne la salvación de Dios.

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”

João dizia às multidões que vinham para o batismo: “Filhos de serpentes! Vocês estão procurando escapar do terrível castigo sem voltar-se verdadeiramente para Deus! É por isso que estão querendo batizar-se!

Y decía á las gentes que salían para ser bautizadas de él: ¡Oh generación de víboras, quién os enseñó á huir de la ira que vendrá?

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Primeiramente deem frutos que mostrem que vocês realmente se arrependeram. E não pensem que estão livres porque são da família de Abraão. Isso não basta. Destas pedras do deserto Deus pode fazer nascer filhos de Abraão!

Haced, pues, frutos dignos de arrepentimiento, y no comencéis á decir en vosotros mismos: Tenemos á Abraham por padre: porque os digo que puede Dios, aun de estas piedras, levantar hijos á Abraham.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and don’t begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!

O machado do seu julgamento está posto à raiz das árvores. Sim, toda árvore que não der bom fruto será derrubada e atirada no fogo”.

Y ya también el hacha está puesta á la raíz de los árboles: todo árbol pues que no hace buen fruto, es cortado, y echado en el fuego.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

A multidão perguntou: “O que devemos fazer?”

Y las gentes le preguntaban, diciendo: ¿Pues qué haremos?

And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

The multitudes asked him, “What then must we do?”

“Se alguém tem duas túnicas”, respondeu ele, “dê uma a quem não tiver nenhuma. Quem tiver comida de sobra, dê àqueles que estão com fome”.

Y respondiendo, les dijo: El que tiene dos túnicas, dé al que no tiene; y el que tiene qué comer, haga lo mismo.

He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”

Até os cobradores de impostos vieram para serem batizados. Eles perguntaram: “Mestre, o que devemos fazer?”

Y vinieron también publicanos para ser bautizados, y le dijeron: Maestro, ¿qué haremos?

Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?

Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”

Ele respondeu: “Cuidem para que não cobrem mais impostos do que o governo romano exige de vocês”.

Y él les dijo: No exijáis más de lo que os está ordenado.

And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

He said to them, “Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”

“E nós”, perguntaram alguns soldados, “o que devemos fazer?” João respondeu: “Não tomem dinheiro com ameaças nem violência; não acusem ninguém falsamente; contentem-se com o seu salário!”

Y le preguntaron también los soldados, diciendo: Y nosotros, ¿qué haremos? Y les dice: No hagáis extorsión á nadie, ni calumniéis; y contentaos con vuestras pagas.

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

Soldiers also asked him, saying, “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”

Todos estavam esperando que o Messias chegasse em breve, e estavam impacientes para saber se João era ele, ou não.

Y estando el pueblo esperando, y pensando todos de Juan en sus corazones, si él fuese el Cristo,

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;

As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he was the Christ,

João respondeu a todos: “Eu os batizo com água; mas em breve virá alguém que tem autoridade muito maior do que a minha; de fato, eu não sou digno nem de desamarrar as correias das suas sandálias. Ele batizará vocês com o Espírito Santo e com fogo.

Respondió Juan, diciendo á todos: Yo, á la verdad, os bautizo en agua; mas viene quien es más poderoso que yo, de quien no soy digno de desatar la correa de sus zapatos: él os bautizará en Espíritu Santo y fuego;

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

John answered them all, “I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire.

Ele traz a pá em sua mão, a fim de separar a palha do trigo, armazenar o trigo e queimar a palha com fogo que nunca se apaga”.

Cuyo bieldo está en su mano, y limpiará su era, y juntará el trigo en su alfolí, y la paja quemará en fuego que nunca se apagará.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

His winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

João fazia muitas outras advertências e anunciava a boa-nova ao povo.

Y amonestando, otras muchas cosas también anunciaba al pueblo.

And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,

Mas, depois que João repreendeu publicamente Herodes, o tetrarca, governador da Galileia, por ter se casado com Herodias, esposa do seu próprio irmão, e por muitas outras maldades que ele tinha praticado,

Entonces Herodes el tetrarca, siendo reprendido por él á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano, y de todas las maldades que había hecho Herodes,

But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,

but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,

Herodes prendeu João na cadeia, acrescentando assim mais esse pecado a todos os outros.

Añadió también esto sobre todo, que encerró á Juan en la cárcel.

Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

Então um dia o próprio Jesus juntou-se ao povo que era batizado por João. E depois que ele foi batizado, e estava orando, os céus se abriram,

Y aconteció que, como todo el pueblo se bautizaba, también Jesús fué bautizado; y orando, el cielo se abrió,

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also had been baptized and was praying. The sky was opened,

e o Espírito Santo desceu sobre ele na forma de uma pomba, e uma voz do céu disse: “Você é meu Filho muito amado; em você está o meu prazer”.

Y descendió el Espíritu Santo sobre él en forma corporal, como paloma, y fué hecha una voz del cielo que decía: Tú eres mi Hijo amado, en ti me he complacido.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”

Jesus estava com cerca de 30 anos de idade quando começou o seu ministério público. Jesus era conhecido como o filho de José; o pai de José foi Heli;

Y el mismo Jesús comenzaba á ser como de treinta años, hijo de José, como se creía; que fué hijo de Elí,

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,
