1Und es geschah am zweit-ersten Sabbath, daß er durch die Saaten ging, und seine Jünger die Ähren abpflückten und aßen, indem sie sie mit den Händen zerrieben.
2Einige der Pharisäer aber sprachen zu ihnen: Warum tut ihr, was nicht erlaubt ist, am Sabbath zu tun?
3Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr auch dieses nicht gelesen, was David tat, als ihn und die bei ihm waren hungerte?
4Wie er in das Haus Gottes ging und die Schaubrote nahm und aß, und auch denen gab, die bei ihm waren, welche niemand essen darf, als nur die Priester allein?
5Und er sprach zu ihnen: Der Sohn des Menschen ist Herr auch des Sabbaths.
6Es geschah aber auch an einem anderen Sabbath, daß er in die Synagoge ging und lehrte; und es war daselbst ein Mensch, dessen rechte Hand verdorrt war.
7Die Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer aber lauerten darauf, ob er am Sabbath heilen würde, auf daß sie eine Beschuldigung wider ihn fänden.
8Er aber wußte ihre Überlegungen und sprach zu dem Menschen, der die verdorrte Hand hatte: Stehe auf und stelle dich in die Mitte. Er aber stand auf und stellte sich hin.
9Jesus sprach nun zu ihnen: Ich will euch fragen, ob es erlaubt ist, am Sabbath Gutes zu tun oder Böses zu tun, das Leben zu retten oder zu verderben.
10Und nachdem er sie alle umher angeblickt hatte, sprach er zu ihm: Strecke deine Hand aus! Und er tat [also]; und seine Hand wurde wiederhergestellt, wie die andere.
11Sie aber wurden mit Unverstand erfüllt und besprachen sich untereinander, was sie Jesu tun sollten.
12Und es geschah in selbigen Tagen, daß er auf den Berg hinausging, um zu beten; und er verharrte die Nacht im Gebet zu Gott.
13Und als es Tag wurde, rief er seine Jünger herzu und erwählte aus ihnen zwölf, die er auch Apostel nannte:
14Simon, den er auch Petrus nannte, und Andreas, seinen Bruder, und Jakobus und Johannes, und Philippus und Bartholomäus,
15und Matthäus und Thomas, und Jakobus, Alphäus' Sohn, und Simon, genannt Zelotes,
16und Judas, Jakobus' Bruder, und Judas Iskariot, der auch sein Verräter wurde.
17Und als er mit ihnen herabgestiegen war, stand er auf einem ebenen Platze, und eine Menge seiner Jünger und eine große Menge des Volkes von ganz Judäa und Jerusalem und von der Seeküste von Tyrus und Sidon, welche kamen, ihn zu hören und von ihren Krankheiten geheilt zu werden;
18und die von unreinen Geistern Geplagten wurden geheilt.
19Und die ganze Volksmenge suchte ihn anzurühren, denn es ging Kraft von ihm aus und heilte alle.
20Und er hob seine Augen auf zu seinen Jüngern und sprach: Glückselig ihr Armen, denn euer ist das Reich Gottes.
21Glückselig, die ihr jetzt hungert, denn ihr werdet gesättigt werden. Glückselig, die ihr jetzt weinet, denn ihr werdet lachen.
22Glückselig seid ihr, wenn die Menschen euch hassen werden, und wenn sie euch absondern und schmähen und euren Namen als böse verwerfen werden um des Sohnes des Menschen willen;
23freuet euch an selbigem Tage und hüpfet, denn siehe, euer Lohn ist groß in dem Himmel; denn desgleichen taten ihre Väter den Propheten.
24Aber wehe euch Reichen, denn ihr habt euren Trost dahin.
25Wehe euch, die ihr voll seid, denn ihr werdet hungern. Wehe euch, die ihr jetzt lachet, denn ihr werdet trauern und weinen.
26Wehe, wenn alle Menschen wohl von euch reden; denn desgleichen taten ihre Väter den falschen Propheten.
27Aber euch sage ich, die ihr höret: Liebet eure Feinde; tut wohl denen, die euch hassen;
28segnet, die euch fluchen; betet für die, welche euch beleidigen.
29Dem, der dich auf den Backen schlägt, biete auch den anderen dar; und dem, der dir den Mantel nimmt, wehre auch den Leibrock nicht.
30Gib jedem, der dich bittet; und von dem, der dir das Deinige nimmt, fordere es nicht zurück.
31Und wie ihr wollt, daß euch die Menschen tun sollen, tut auch ihr ihnen gleicherweise.
32Und wenn ihr liebet, die euch lieben, was für Dank ist es euch? Denn auch die Sünder lieben, die sie lieben.
33Und wenn ihr denen Gutes tut, die euch Gutes tun, was für Dank ist es euch? Denn auch die Sünder tun dasselbe.
34Und wenn ihr denen leihet, von welchen ihr wieder zu empfangen hoffet, was für Dank ist es euch? [Denn] auch die Sünder leihen Sündern, auf daß sie das gleiche wieder empfangen.
35Doch liebet eure Feinde, und tut Gutes, und leihet, ohne etwas wieder zu hoffen, und euer Lohn wird groß sein, und ihr werdet Söhne des Höchsten sein; denn er ist gütig gegen die Undankbaren und Bösen.
36Seid nun barmherzig, wie auch euer Vater barmherzig ist.
37Und richtet nicht, und ihr werdet nicht gerichtet werden; verurteilet nicht, und ihr werdet nicht verurteilt werden. Lasset los, und ihr werdet losgelassen werden.
38Gebet, und es wird euch gegeben werden: ein gutes, gedrücktes und gerütteltes und überlaufendes Maß wird man in euren Schoß geben; denn mit demselben Maße, mit welchem ihr messet, wird euch wieder gemessen werden.
39Er sagte aber auch ein Gleichnis zu ihnen: Kann etwa ein Blinder einen Blinden leiten? Werden nicht beide in eine Grube fallen?
40Ein Jünger ist nicht über den Lehrer; jeder aber, der vollendet ist, wird sein wie sein Lehrer.
41Was aber siehst du den Splitter, der in deines Bruders Auge ist, den Balken aber, der in deinem eigenen Auge ist, nimmst du nicht wahr?
42Oder wie kannst du zu deinem Bruder sagen: Bruder, erlaube, ich will den Splitter herausziehen, der in deinem Auge ist, während du selbst den Balken in deinem Auge nicht siehst? Heuchler, ziehe zuerst den Balken aus deinem Auge, und dann wirst du klar sehen, um den Splitter herauszuziehen, der in deines Bruders Auge ist.
43Denn es gibt keinen guten Baum, der faule Frucht bringt, noch einen faulen Baum, der gute Frucht bringt;
44denn ein jeder Baum wird an seiner eigenen Frucht erkannt; denn von Dornen sammelt man nicht Feigen, noch liest man von einem Dornbusch Trauben.
45Der gute Mensch bringt aus dem guten Schatze seines Herzens das Gute hervor, und der böse bringt aus dem bösen das Böse hervor; denn aus der Fülle des Herzens redet sein Mund.
46Was heißet ihr mich aber: Herr, Herr! und tut nicht, was ich sage?
47Jeder, der zu mir kommt und meine Worte hört und sie tut, ich will euch zeigen, wem er gleich ist.
48Er ist einem Menschen gleich, der ein Haus baute, welcher grub und vertiefte und den Grund auf den Felsen legte; als aber eine Flut kam, schlug der Strom an jenes Haus und vermochte es nicht zu erschüttern, denn es war auf den Felsen gegründet.
49Der aber gehört und nicht getan hat, ist einem Menschen gleich, der ein Haus auf die Erde baute ohne Grundlage, an welches der Strom schlug, und alsbald fiel es, und der Sturz jenes Hauses war groß.

1Y ACONTECIÓ que pasando él por los sembrados en un sábado segundo del primero, sus discípulos arrancaban espigas, y comían, restregándolas con las manos.
2Y algunos de los Fariseos les dijeron: ¿Por qué hacéis lo que no es lícito hacer en los sábados?
3Y respondiendo Jesús les dijo: ¿Ni aun esto habéis leído, qué hizo David cuando tuvo hambre, él, y los que con él estaban;
4Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y tomó los panes de la proposición, y comió, y dió también á los que estaban con él, los cuales no era lícito comer, sino á solos los sacerdotes?
5Y les decía: El Hijo del hombre es Señor aun del sábado.
6Y aconteció también en otro sábado, que él entró en la sinagoga y enseñaba; y estaba allí un hombre que tenía la mano derecha seca.
7Y le acechaban los escribas y los Fariseos, si sanaría en sábado, por hallar de qué le acusasen.
8Mas él sabía los pensamientos de ellos; y dijo al hombre que tenía la mano seca: Levántate, y ponte en medio. Y él levantándose, se puso en pie.
9Entonces Jesús les dice: Os preguntaré una cosa: ¿Es lícito en sábados hacer bien, ó hacer mal? ¿salvar la vida, ó quitarla?
10Y mirándolos á todos alrededor, dice al hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él lo hizo así, y su mano fué restaurada.
11Y ellos se llenaron de rabia; y hablaban los unos á los otros qué harían á Jesús.
12Y aconteció en aquellos días, que fué al monte á orar, y pasó la noche orando á Dios.
13Y como fué de día, llamó á sus discípulos, y escogió doce de ellos, á los cuales también llamó apóstoles:
14A Simón, al cual también llamó Pedro, y á Andrés su hermano, Jacobo y Juan, Felipe y Bartolomé,
15Mateo y Tomás, Jacobo hijo de Alfeo, y Simón el que se llama Celador,
16Judas hermano de Jacobo, y Judas Iscariote, que también fué el traidor.
17Y descendió con ellos, y se paró en un lugar llano, y la compañía de sus discípulos, y una grande multitud de pueblo de toda Judea y de Jerusalem, y de la costa de Tiro y de Sidón, que habían venido á oirle, y para ser sanados de sus enfermedades;
18Y los que habían sido atormentados de espíritus inmundos: y estaban curados.
19Y toda la gente procuraba tocarle; porque salía de él virtud, y sanaba á todos.
20Y alzando él los ojos á sus discípulos, decía: Bienaventurados vosotros los pobres; porque vuestro es el reino de Dios.
21Bienaventurados los que ahora tenéis hambre; porque seréis saciados. Bienaventurados los que ahora lloráis, porque reiréis.
22Bienaventurados seréis, cuando los hombres os aborrecieren, y cuando os apartaren de sí, y os denostaren, y desecharen vuestro nombre como malo, por el Hijo del hombre.
23Gozaos en aquel día, y alegraos; porque he aquí vuestro galardón es grande en los cielos; porque así hacían sus padres á los profetas.
24Mas ¡ay de vosotros, ricos! porque tenéis vuestro consuelo.
25¡Ay de vosotros, los que estáis hartos! porque tendréis hambre. ¡Ay de vosotros, los que ahora reís! porque lamentaréis y lloraréis.
26¡Ay de vosotros, cuando todos los hombres dijeren bien de vosotros! porque así hacían sus padres á los falsos profetas.
27Mas á vosotros los que oís, digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, haced bien á los que os aborrecen;
28Bendecid á los que os maldicen, y orad por los que os calumnian.
29Y al que te hiriere en la mejilla, dale también la otra; y al que te quitare la capa, ni aun el sayo le defiendas.
30Y á cualquiera que te pidiere, da; y al que tomare lo que es tuyo, no vuelvas á pedir.
31Y como queréis que os hagan los hombres, así hacedles también vosotros:
32Porque si amáis á los que os aman, ¿qué gracias tendréis? porque también los pecadores aman á los que los aman.
33Y si hiciereis bien á los que os hacen bien, ¿qué gracias tendréis? porque también los pecadores hacen lo mismo.
34Y si prestareis á aquellos de quienes esperáis recibir, ¿qué gracias tendréis? porque también los pecadores prestan á los pecadores, para recibir otro tanto.
35Amad, pues, á vuestros enemigos, y haced bien, y prestad, no esperando de ello nada; y será vuestro galardón grande, y seréis hijos del Altísimo: porque él es benigno para con los ingratos y malos.
36Sed pues misericordiosos, como también vuestro Padre es misericordioso.
37No juzguéis, y no seréis juzgados: no condenéis, y no seréis condenados: perdonad, y seréis perdonados.
38Dad, y se os dará; medida buena, apretada, remecida, y rebosando darán en vuestro seno: porque con la misma medida que midiereis, os será vuelto á medir.
39Y les decía una parábola: ¿Puede el ciego guiar al ciego? ¿No caerán ambos en el hoyo?
40El discípulo no es sobre su maestro; mas cualquiera que fuere como el maestro, será perfecto.
41¿Por qué miras la paja que está en el ojo de tu hermano, y la viga que está en tu propio ojo no consideras?
42¿O cómo puedes decir á tu hermano: Hermano, deja, echaré fuera la paja que está en tu ojo, no mirando tú la viga que está en tu ojo? Hipócrita, echa primero fuera de tu ojo la viga, y entonces verás bien para sacar la paja que está en el ojo de tu hermano.
43Porque no es buen árbol el que da malos frutos; ni árbol malo el que da buen fruto.
44Porque cada árbol por su fruto es conocido: que no cogen higos de los espinos, ni vendimian uvas de las zarzas.
45El buen hombre del buen tesoro de su corazón saca bien; y el mal hombre del mal tesoro de su corazón saca mal; porque de la abundancia del corazón habla su boca.
46¿Por qué me llamáis, Señor, Señor, y no hacéis lo que digo?
47Todo aquel que viene á mí, y oye mis palabras, y las hace, os enseñaré á quién es semejante:
48Semejante es al hombre que edifica una casa, el cual cavó y ahondó, y puso el fundamento sobre la peña; y cuando vino una avenida, el río dió con ímpetu en aquella casa, mas no la pudo menear: porque estaba fundada sobre la peña.
49Mas el que oyó y no hizo, semejante es al hombre que edificó su casa sobre tierra, sin fundamento; en la cual el río dió con ímpetu, y luego cayó; y fué grande la ruina de aquella casa.

1And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
2And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
3And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
4How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
6And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
7And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
8But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
9Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
14Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
15Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon called Zelotes,
16And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
17And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judæa and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
19And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
43For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

1Now on the second Sabbath after the first, he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate, rubbing them in their hands.
2But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day?”
3Jesus, answering them, said, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,
4how he entered into God’s house, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?”
5He said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
6It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
7The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
8But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.
9Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”
10He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.
11But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
12In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;
15Matthew; Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus; Simon who was called the Zealot;

18as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits; and they were being healed.
19All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.
20He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for God’s Kingdom is yours.
21Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
23Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.
24“But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.
25Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.
27“But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

29To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.

31“As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
32“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36“Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
37Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
38“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”
39He spoke a parable to them. “Can the blind guide the blind? Won’t they both fall into a pit?
40A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
42Or how can you tell your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye.
43“For there is no good tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces good fruit.
44For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
45The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
46“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?
47Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words and does them, I will show you who he is like.
48He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
49But he who hears and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
