Et quand il eut achevé tout ce discours devant le peuple qui l’écoutait, il entra dans Capernaüm.

Y COMO acabó todas sus palabras oyéndole el pueblo, entró en Capernaum.

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

Or le serviteur d’un certain Centenier, à qui il était fort cher, était malade, et s’en allait mourir.

Y el siervo de un centurión, al cual tenía él en estima, estaba enfermo y á punto de morir.

And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

Et quand le Centenier eut entendu parler de Jésus, il envoya vers lui quelques Anciens des Juifs, pour le prier de venir guérir son serviteur.

Y como oyó hablar de Jesús, envió á él los ancianos de los Judíos, rogándole que viniese y librase á su siervo.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.

Et étant venus à Jésus, ils le prièrent instamment, en lui disant qu’il était digne qu’on lui accordât cela.

Y viniendo ellos á Jesús, rogáronle con diligencia, diciéndole: Porque es digno de concederle esto;

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,

Car, disaient-ils, il aime notre nation, et il nous a bâti la Synagogue.

Que ama nuestra nación, y él nos edificó una sinagoga.

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”

Jésus s’en alla donc avec eux ; et comme déjà il n’était plus guère loin de la maison, le Centenier envoya ses amis au-devant de lui, pour lui dire : Seigneur ne te fatigue point ; car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit ;

Y Jesús fué con ellos. Mas como ya no estuviesen lejos de su casa, envió el centurión amigos á él, diciéndole: Señor, no te incomodes, que no soy digno que entres debajo de mi tejado;

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

C’est pourquoi aussi je ne me suis pas cru digne d’aller moi-même vers toi ; mais dis seulement une parole, et mon serviteur sera guéri.

Por lo cual ni aun me tuve por digno de venir á ti; mas di la palabra, y mi siervo será sano.

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Car moi-même qui suis un homme constitué sous la puissance d’autrui, j’ai sous moi des gens de guerre ; et je dis à l’un : va, et il va ; et à un autre : viens, et il vient ; et à mon serviteur : fais cela, et il le fait.

Porque también yo soy hombre puesto en potestad, que tengo debajo de mí soldados; y digo á éste: Ve, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y á mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Ce que Jésus ayant entendu, il l’admira ; et se tournant, il dit à la troupe qui le suivait : je vous dis, que je n’ai pas trouvé, même en Israël, une si grande foi.

Lo cual oyendo Jesús, se maravilló de él, y vuelto, dijo á las gentes que le seguían: Os digo que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”

Et quand ceux qui avaient été envoyés furent de retour à la maison, ils trouvèrent le serviteur qui avait été malade, se portant bien.

Y vueltos á casa los que habían sido enviados, hallaron sano al siervo que había estado enfermo.

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.

Et le jour d’après il arriva que Jésus allait à une ville nommée Naïn, et plusieurs de ses disciples et une grosse troupe allaient avec lui.

Y aconteció después, que él iba á la ciudad que se llama Naín, é iban con él muchos de sus discípulos, y gran compañía.

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.

Et comme il approchait de la porte de la ville, voici, on portait dehors un mort, fils unique de sa mère, qui était veuve ; et une grande troupe de la ville était avec elle.

Y como llegó cerca de la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí que sacaban fuera á un difunto, unigénito de su madre, la cual también era viuda: y había con ella grande compañía de la ciudad.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.

Et quand le Seigneur l’eut vue, il fut touché de compassion envers elle ; et il lui dit : ne pleure point.

Y como el Señor la vió, compadecióse de ella, y le dice: No llores.

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”

Puis s’étant approché, il toucha la bière ; et ceux qui portaient le corps s’arrêtèrent, et il dit : Jeune homme, je te dis, lève-toi.

Y acercándose, tocó el féretro: y los que lo llevaban, pararon. Y dice: Mancebo, á ti digo, levántate.

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”

Et le mort se leva en son séant, et commença à parler ; et Jésus le rendit à sa mère.

Entonces se incorporó el que había muerto, y comenzó á hablar. Y dióle á su madre.

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.

Et ils furent tous saisis de crainte, et ils glorifiaient Dieu, disant : certainement un grand Prophète s’est levé parmi nous ; et certainement Dieu a visité son peuple.

Y todos tuvieron miedo, y glorificaban á Dios, diciendo: Que un gran profeta se ha levantado entre nosotros; y que Dios ha visitado á su pueblo.

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”

Et le bruit de ce miracle se répandit dans toute la Judée, et dans tout le pays circonvoisin.

Y salió esta fama de él por toda Judea, y por toda la tierra de alrededor.

And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.

This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.

Et toutes ces choses ayant été rapportées à Jean par ses Disciples,

Y sus discípulos dieron á Juan las nuevas de todas estas cosas: y llamó Juan á dos de sus discípulos,

And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

The disciples of John told him about all these things.

Jean appela deux de ses disciples, et les envoya vers Jésus, pour lui dire : es-tu celui qui devait venir, ou si nous devons en attendre un autre ?

Y envió á Jesús, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”

Et étant venus à lui, ils lui dirent : Jean-Baptiste nous a envoyés auprès de toi, pour te dire : es-tu celui qui devait venir, ou si nous devons en attendre un autre ?

Y como los hombres vinieron á él, dijeron: Juan el Bautista nos ha enviado á ti, diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”

(Or, en cette même heure-là il guérit plusieurs personnes de maladies et de fléaux, et des malins esprits ; et il donna la vue à plusieurs aveugles.)

Y en la misma hora sanó á muchos de enfermedades y plagas, y de espíritus malos; y á muchos ciegos dió la vista.

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.

Ensuite Jésus leur répondit, et leur dit : allez, et rapportez à Jean ce que vous avez vu et ouï, que les aveugles recouvrent la vue ; que les boiteux marchent ; que les lépreux sont nettoyés ; que les sourds entendent ; que les morts ressuscitent ; et que l’Evangile est prêché aux pauvres.

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, dad las nuevas á Juan de lo que habéis visto y oído: que los ciegos ven, los cojos andan, los leprosos son limpiados, los sordos oyen, los muertos resucitan, á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio:

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

Mais bienheureux est quiconque n’aura point été scandalisé à cause de moi.

Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

Puis quand les messagers de Jean furent partis, il se mit à dire de Jean aux troupes : qu’êtes-vous allés voir au désert ? Un roseau agité du vent ?

Y como se fueron los mensajeros de Juan, comenzó á hablar de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es agitada por el viento?

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Mais qu’êtes-vous allés voir ? Un homme vêtu de précieux vêtements ? Voici, c’est dans les palais des Rois que se trouvent ceux qui sont magnifiquement vêtus, et qui vivent dans les délices.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de vestidos delicados? He aquí, los que están en vestido precioso, y viven en delicias, en los palacios de los reyes están.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.

But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed and live delicately are in kings’ courts.

Mais qu’êtes-vous donc allés voir ? Un Prophète ? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu’un Prophète.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y aun más que profeta.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

C’est de lui qu’il est écrit : voici, j’envoie mon Messager devant ta face, et il préparera ta voie devant toi.

Este es de quien está escrito: He aquí, envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, el cual aparejará tu camino delante de ti.

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

Car je vous dis qu’entre ceux qui sont nés de femme, il n’y a aucun Prophète plus grand que Jean Baptiste ; et toutefois le moindre dans le Royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui.

Porque os digo que entre los nacidos de mujeres, no hay mayor profeta que Juan el Bautista: mas el más pequeño en el reino de los cielos es mayor que él.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

“For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”

Et tout le peuple qui entendait cela, et les péagers qui avaient été baptisés du Baptême de Jean justifièrent Dieu.

Y todo el pueblo oyéndole, y los publicanos, justificaron á Dios, bautizándose con el bautismo de Juan.

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.

Mais les Pharisiens, et les Docteurs de la Loi, qui n’avaient point été baptisés par lui, rendirent le dessein de Dieu inutile à leur égard.

Mas los Fariseos y los sabios de la ley, desecharon el consejo de Dios contra sí mismos, no siendo bautizados de él.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.

Alors le Seigneur dit : à qui donc comparerai-je les hommes de cette génération ; et à quoi ressemblent-ils ?

Y dice el Señor: ¿A quién, pues, compararé los hombres de esta generación, y á qué son semejantes?

And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

“To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

Ils sont semblables aux enfants qui sont assis au marché, et qui crient les uns aux autres, et disent : nous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n’avez point dansé ; nous vous avons chanté des airs lugubres, et vous n’avez point pleuré.

Semejantes son á los muchachos sentados en la plaza, y que dan voces los unos á los otros, y dicen: Os tañimos con flautas, y no bailasteis: os endechamos, y no llorasteis.

They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’

Car Jean Baptiste est venu ne mangeant point de pain, et ne buvant point de vin ; et vous dites : il a un Démon.

Porque vino Juan el Bautista, que ni comía pan, ni bebía vino, y decís: Demonio tiene.

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’

Le Fils de l’homme est venu mangeant et buvant ; et vous dites : voici un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des péagers et des gens de mauvaise vie.

Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y decís: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores.

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Mais la sagesse a été justifiée par tous ses enfants.

Mas la sabiduría es justificada de todos sus hijos.

But wisdom is justified of all her children.

Wisdom is justified by all her children.”

Or un des Pharisiens le pria de manger chez lui ; et il entra dans la maison de ce Pharisien, et se mit à table.

Y le rogó uno de los Fariseos, que comiese con él. Y entrado en casa del Fariseo, sentóse á la mesa.

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.

One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table.

Et voici, il y avait dans la ville une femme de mauvaise vie, qui ayant su que Jésus était à table dans la maison du Pharisien, apporta un vase d’albâtre plein d’une huile odoriférante.

Y he aquí una mujer que había sido pecadora en la ciudad, como entendió que estaba á la mesa en casa de aquel Fariseo, trajo un alabastro de ungüento,

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.

Et se tenant derrière à ses pieds, et pleurant, elle se mit à les arroser de ses larmes, et elle les essuyait avec ses propres cheveux, et lui baisait les pieds, et les oignait de cette huile odoriférante.

Y estando detrás á sus pies, comenzó llorando á regar con lágrimas sus pies, y los limpiaba con los cabellos de su cabeza; y besaba sus pies, y los ungía con el ungüento.

And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Mais le Pharisien qui l’avait convié, voyant cela, dit en soi-même : si celui-ci était Prophète, certes il saurait qui et quelle est cette femme qui le touche : car c’est une femme de mauvaise vie.

Y como vió esto el Fariseo que le había convidado, habló entre sí, diciendo: Este, si fuera profeta, conocería quién y cuál es la mujer que le toca, que es pecadora.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”

Et Jésus prenant la parole lui dit : Simon, j’ai quelque chose à te dire ; et il dit : Maître, dis-la.

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Simón, una cosa tengo que decirte. Y él dice: Di, Maestro.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”

Un créancier avait deux débiteurs : l’un lui devait cinq cents deniers, et l’autre cinquante.

Un acreedor tenía dos deudores: el uno le debía quinientos denarios, y el otro cincuenta;

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

Et comme ils n’avaient pas de quoi payer, il quitta la dette à l’un et à l’autre ; dis donc, lequel d’eux l’aimera le plus ?

Y no teniendo ellos de qué pagar, perdonó á ambos. Di, pues, ¿cuál de éstos le amará más?

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”

Et Simon répondant lui dit : j’estime que c’est celui à qui il a quitté davantage. Et Jésus lui dit : tu as droitement jugé.

Y respondiendo Simón, dijo: Pienso que aquél al cual perdonó más. Y él le dijo: Rectamente has juzgado.

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”

Alors se tournant vers la femme, il dit à Simon : vois-tu cette femme ? je suis entré dans ta maison, et tu ne m’as point donné d’eau pour laver mes pieds ; mais elle a arrosé mes pieds de ses larmes, et les a essuyés avec ses propres cheveux.

Y vuelto á la mujer, dijo á Simón: ¿Ves esta mujer? Entré en tu casa, no diste agua para mis pies; mas ésta ha regado mis pies con lágrimas, y los ha limpiado con los cabellos.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.

Tu ne m’as point donné un baiser, mais elle, depuis que je suis entré, n’a cessé de baiser mes pieds.

No me diste beso, mas ésta, desde que entré, no ha cesado de besar mis pies.

Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.

Tu n’as point oint ma tête d’huile ; mais elle a oint mes pieds d’une huile odoriférante :

No ungiste mi cabeza con óleo; mas ésta ha ungido con ungüento mis pies.

My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

C’est pourquoi je te dis, que ses péchés, qui sont grands, lui sont pardonnés ; car elle a beaucoup aimé ; or celui à qui il est moins pardonné, aime moins.

Por lo cual te digo que sus muchos pecados son perdonados, porque amó mucho; mas al que se perdona poco, poco ama.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”

Puis il dit à la femme : tes péchés te sont pardonnés.

Y á ella dijo: Los pecados te son perdonados.

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

Et ceux qui étaient avec lui à table, se mirent à dire entre eux : qui est celui-ci qui même pardonne les péchés.

Y los que estaban juntamente sentados á la mesa, comenzaron á decir entre sí: ¿Quién es éste, que también perdona pecados?

And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

Mais il dit à la femme : ta foi t’a sauvée ; va-t’en en paix.

Y dijo á la mujer: Tu fe te ha salvado, ve en paz.

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
