1Aconteció después, que Jesús iba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, predicando y anunciando el evangelio del Reino de Dios, y los doce con él,
2y algunas mujeres que habían sido sanadas de espíritus malos y de enfermedades: María, que se llamaba Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios,
3Juana, mujer de Chuza intendente de Herodes, y Susana, y otras muchas que le servían de sus bienes.
4Juntándose una gran multitud, y los que de cada ciudad venían a él, les dijo por parábola:
5“El sembrador salió a sembrar su semilla; y mientras sembraba, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fue hollada, y las aves del cielo la comieron.
6Otra parte cayó sobre la roca; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.
7Otra parte cayó entre espinos, y los espinos que nacieron juntamente con ella, la ahogaron.
8Y otra parte cayó en buena tierra, y nació y llevó fruto a ciento por uno”. Hablando estas cosas, decía a gran voz: “El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga”.
9Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: “¿Qué significa esta parábola?”
10Y él dijo: “A ustedes les es dado conocer los misterios del Reino de Dios; pero a los otros por parábolas, para que ‘viendo, no vean, y oyendo, no entiendan’.
11“Ésta es, pues, la parábola: La semilla es la palabra de Dios.
12Y los de junto al camino son los que oyen, y luego viene el diablo y quita de su corazón la palabra, para que no crean y se salven.
13Los de sobre la roca son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; pero éstos no tienen raíces; creen por algún tiempo, y en el tiempo de la prueba se apartan.
14La que cayó entre espinos, éstos son los que oyen, pero yéndose, son ahogados por los afanes y las riquezas y los placeres de la vida, y no llevan fruto.
15Mas la que cayó en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y dan fruto con perseverancia.
16“Nadie que enciende una luz la cubre con una vasija, ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero, para que los que entran vean la luz.
17Porque nada hay oculto, que no haya de ser manifestado; ni escondido, que no haya de ser conocido, y de salir a luz.
18Miren, pues, cómo oyen; porque a todo el que tiene, se le dará; y a todo el que no tiene, aun lo que piensa tener se le quitará.”
19Entonces su madre y sus hermanos vinieron a él; pero no podían llegar hasta él por causa de la multitud.
20Y se le avisó, diciendo: “Tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, y quieren verte”.
21Él entonces respondiendo, les dijo: “Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la hacen.”
22Aconteció un día, que entró en una barca con sus discípulos, y les dijo: “Pasemos al otro lado del lago”. Y partieron.
23Pero mientras navegaban, él se durmió. Y se desencadenó una tempestad de viento en el lago; y se anegaban y peligraban.
24Y vinieron a él y le despertaron, diciendo: “¡Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos!” Despertando él, reprendió al viento y a las olas; y cesaron, y se hizo bonanza.
25Y les dijo: “¿Dónde está su fe?” Y atemorizados, se maravillaban, y se decían unos a otros: “¿Quién es éste, que aun a los vientos y a las aguas manda, y le obedecen?”
26Y arribaron a la tierra de los gadarenos, que está en la ribera opuesta a Galilea.
27Al llegar él a tierra, vino a su encuentro un hombre de la ciudad, endemoniado desde hacía mucho tiempo; y no vestía ropa, ni moraba en casa, sino en los sepulcros.
28Éste, al ver a Jesús, lanzó un gran grito, y postrándose a sus pies exclamó a gran voz: “¿Qué tienes conmigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Te ruego que no me atormentes”.
29(Porque mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliese del hombre, pues hacía mucho tiempo que se había apoderado de él; y le ataban con cadenas y grillos, pero rompiendo las prisiones, era impelido por el demonio a los desiertos.)
30Y le preguntó Jesús, diciendo: “¿Cómo te llamas?” Y él dijo: “Legión”. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.
31Y le rogaban que no les mandase ir al abismo.
32Había allí un hato de muchos cerdos que pacían en el monte; y le rogaron que les dejase entrar en ellos; y les dio permiso.
33Y los demonios, salidos del hombre, entraron en los cerdos; y el hato se precipitó por un despeñadero al lago, y se ahogó.
34Y los que apacentaban los cerdos, cuando vieron lo que había acontecido, huyeron, y yendo dieron aviso en la ciudad y por los campos.
35Y salieron a ver lo que había sucedido; y vinieron a Jesús, y hallaron al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios, sentado a los pies de Jesús, vestido, y en su cabal juicio; y tuvieron miedo.
36Y los que lo habían visto, les contaron cómo había sido salvado el endemoniado.
37Entonces toda la multitud de la región alrededor de los gadarenos le rogó que se marchase de ellos, pues tenían gran temor. Y Jesús, entrando en la barca, se volvió.
38Y el hombre de quien habían salido los demonios le rogaba que le dejase estar con él; pero Jesús le despidió, diciendo:
39“Vuélvete a tu casa, y cuenta cuán grandes cosas ha hecho Dios contigo.” Y él se fue, publicando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas había hecho Jesús con él.
40Cuando volvió Jesús, le recibió la multitud con gozo; porque todos le esperaban.
41Y he aquí, vino un varón llamado Jairo, que era principal de la sinagoga, y postrándose a los pies de Jesús, le rogaba que entrase en su casa;
42porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, que se estaba muriendo. Y mientras iba, la multitud le oprimía.
43Pero una mujer que padecía de flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, y que había gastado en médicos todo cuanto tenía, y por ninguno había podido ser curada,
44se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto; y al instante se estancó el flujo de su sangre.
45Entonces Jesús dijo: “¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?” Y negándolo todos, dijo Pedro y los que con él estaban: “Maestro, la multitud te aprieta y oprime, y dices: ‘¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?’”.
46Pero Jesús dijo: “Alguien me ha tocado; porque yo he conocido que ha salido poder de mí”.
47Entonces, cuando la mujer vio que no había quedado oculta, vino temblando, y postrándose a sus pies, le declaró delante de todo el pueblo por qué causa le había tocado, y cómo al instante había sido sanada.
48Y él le dijo: “Hija, tu fe te ha salvado; ve en paz”.
49Estaba hablando aún, cuando vino uno de casa del principal de la sinagoga a decirle: “Tu hija ha muerto; no molestes más al Maestro”.
50Oyéndolo Jesús, le respondió: “No temas; cree solamente, y será salva”.
51Entrando en la casa, no dejó entrar a nadie consigo, sino a Pedro, a Jacobo, a Juan, y al padre y a la madre de la niña.
52Y lloraban todos y hacían lamentación por ella. Pero él dijo: “No lloren; no está muerta, sino que duerme”.
53Y se burlaban de él, sabiendo que estaba muerta.
54Mas él, tomándola de la mano, clamó diciendo: “Muchacha, levántate”.
55Entonces su espíritu volvió, e inmediatamente se levantó; y él mandó que se le diese de comer.
56Y sus padres estaban atónitos; pero Jesús les mandó que a nadie dijesen lo que había sucedido.

4Y como se juntó una grande compañía, y los que estaban en cada ciudad vinieron á él, dijo por una parábola:
5Uno que sembraba, salió á sembrar su simiente; y sembrando, una parte cayó junto al camino, y fué hollada; y las aves del cielo la comieron.
6Y otra parte cayó sobre la piedra; y nacida, se secó, porque no tenía humedad.

10Y él dijo: A vosotros es dado conocer los misterios del reino de Dios; mas á los otros por parábolas, para que viendo no vean, y oyendo no entiendan.
11Es pues ésta la parábola: La simiente es la palabra de Dios.
12Y los de junto al camino, éstos son los que oyen; y luego viene el diablo, y quita la palabra de su corazón, porque no crean y se salven.
13Y los de sobre la piedra, son los que habiendo oído, reciben la palabra con gozo; mas éstos no tienen raíces; que á tiempo creen, y en el tiempo de la tentación se apartan.
14Y la que cayó entre las espinas, éstos son los que oyeron; mas yéndose, son ahogados de los cuidados y de las riquezas y de los pasatiempos de la vida, y no llevan fruto.
15Mas la que en buena tierra, éstos son los que con corazón bueno y recto retienen la palabra oída, y llevan fruto en paciencia.
16Ninguno que enciende la antorcha la cubre con vasija, ó la pone debajo de la cama; mas la pone en un candelero, para que los que entran vean la luz.
17Porque no hay cosa oculta, que no haya de ser manifestada; ni cosa escondida, que no haya de ser entendida, y de venir á luz.
18Mirad pues cómo oís; porque á cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; y á cualquiera que no tuviere, aun lo que parece tener le será quitado.
19Y vinieron á él su madre y hermanos; y no podían llegar á él por causa de la multitud.
20Y le fué dado aviso, diciendo: Tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, que quieren verte.
21El entonces respondiendo, les dijo: Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la ejecutan.
22Y aconteció un día que él entró en un barco con sus discípulos, y les dijo: Pasemos á la otra parte del lago. Y partieron.
23Pero mientras ellos navegaban, él se durmió. Y sobrevino una tempestad de viento en el lago; y henchían de agua, y peligraban.
24Y llegándose á él, le despertaron, diciendo: ¡Maestro, Maestro, que perecemos! Y despertado él, increpó al viento y á la tempestad del agua; y cesaron, y fué hecha bonanza.
25Y les dijo: ¿Qué es de vuestra fe? Y atemorizados, se maravillaban, diciendo los unos á los otros: ¿Quién es éste, que aun á los vientos y al agua manda, y le obedecen?
26Y navegaron á la tierra de los Gadarenos, que está delante de Galilea.
27Y saliendo él á tierra, le vino al encuentro de la ciudad un hombre que tenía demonios ya de mucho tiempo; y no vestía vestido, ni estaba en casa, sino por los sepulcros.
28El cual, como vió á Jesús, exclamó y se postró delante de él, y dijo á gran voz: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? Ruégote que no me atormentes.
29(Porque mandaba al espíritu inmundo que saliese del hombre: porque ya de mucho tiempo le arrebataba; y le guardaban preso con cadenas y grillos; mas rompiendo las prisiones, era agitado del demonio por los desiertos.)
30Y le preguntó Jesús, diciendo: ¿Qué nombre tienes? Y él dijo: Legión. Porque muchos demonios habían entrado en él.
31Y le rogaban que no les mandase ir al abismo.
32Y había allí un hato de muchos puercos que pacían en el monte; y le rogaron que los dejase entrar en ellos; y los dejó.
33Y salidos los demonios del hombre, entraron en los puercos; y el hato se arrojó de un despeñadero en el lago, y ahogóse.
34Y los pastores, como vieron lo que había acontecido, huyeron, y yendo dieron aviso en la ciudad y por las heredades.
35Y salieron á ver lo que había acontecido; y vinieron á Jesús, y hallaron sentado al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios, vestido, y en su juicio, á los pies de Jesús; y tuvieron miedo.
36Y les contaron los que lo habían visto, cómo había sido salvado aquel endemoniado.
37Entonces toda la multitud de la tierra de los Gadarenos alrededor, le rogaron que se fuese de ellos; porque tenían gran temor. Y él, subiendo en el barco, volvióse.
38Y aquel hombre, de quien habían salido los demonios, le rogó para estar con él; mas Jesús le despidió, diciendo:
39Vuélvete á tu casa, y cuenta cuán grandes cosas ha hecho Dios contigo. Y él se fué, publicando por toda la ciudad cuán grandes cosas había hecho Jesús con él.
40Y aconteció que volviendo Jesús, recibióle la gente; porque todos le esperaban.
41Y he aquí un varón, llamado Jairo, y que era príncipe de la sinagoga, vino, y cayendo á los pies de Jesús, le rogaba que entrase en su casa;
42Porque tenía una hija única, como de doce años, y ella se estaba muriendo. Y yendo, le apretaba la compañía.
43Y una mujer, que tenía flujo de sangre hacía ya doce años, la cual había gastado en médicos toda su hacienda, y por ninguno había podido ser curada,
44Llegándose por las espaldas, tocó el borde de su vestido; y luego se estancó el flujo de su sangre.
45Entonces Jesús dijo: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado? Y negando todos, dijo Pedro y los que estaban con él: Maestro, la compañía te aprieta y oprime, y dices: ¿Quién es el que me ha tocado?
46Y Jesús dijo: Me ha tocado alguien; porque yo he conocido que ha salido virtud de mí.
47Entonces, como la mujer vió que no se había ocultado, vino temblando, y postrándose delante de él declaróle delante de todo el pueblo la causa por qué le había tocado, y cómo luego había sido sana.
48Y él le dijo: Hija, tu fe te ha salvado: ve en paz.
49Estando aún él hablando, vino uno del príncipe de la sinagoga á decirle: Tu hija es muerta, no des trabajo al Maestro.
50Y oyéndolo Jesús, le respondió: No temas: cree solamente, y será salva.
51Y entrado en casa, no dejó entrar á nadie consigo, sino á Pedro, y á Jacobo, y á Juan, y al padre y á la madre de la moza.
52Y lloraban todos, y la plañían. Y él dijo: No lloréis; no es muerta, sino que duerme.
53Y hacían burla de él, sabiendo que estaba muerta.
54Mas él, tomándola de la mano, clamó, diciendo: Muchacha, levántate.
55Entonces su espíritu volvió, y se levantó luego: y él mandó que le diesen de comer.
56Y sus padres estaban atónitos; á los cuales él mandó, que á nadie dijesen lo que había sido hecho.

1And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
2And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
3And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
4And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
5A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
16No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
17For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
19Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
20And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
21And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
22Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
26And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
29(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
30And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
31And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
32And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
33Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
34When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
35Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
36They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
37Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
38Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
40And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
41And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
42For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
43And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
49While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
50But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
51And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
52And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
53And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
55And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
56And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

1Soon afterwards, he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of God’s Kingdom. With him were the twelve,

4When a great multitude came together and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable:
5“The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.
6Some seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
7Some fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
8Some fell into the good ground and grew and produced one hundred times as much fruit.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
9Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”
10He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

16“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
17For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
18Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”
19His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.
20Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”
21But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
22Now on one of those days, he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.
23But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.
24They came to him and awoke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are dying!” He awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; then they ceased, and it was calm.
25He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Being afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, “Who is this then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”
26Then they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs.
28When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”
29For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.
30Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.
31They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.
32Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. Then he allowed them.
33The demons came out of the man and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
34When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.
35People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
36Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.
37All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. Then he entered into the boat and returned.
38But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39“Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you.” He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
40When Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.
41Behold, a man named Jairus came. He was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged him to come into his house,
42for he had an only born daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.
43A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians and could not be healed by any,
44came behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak. Immediately the flow of her blood stopped.
45Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”
46But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”
47When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
49While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”
50But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”
51When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.
52All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”
53They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.
54But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”
55Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.
56Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.
