Er rief dann die Zwölf zusammen und gab ihnen Kraft und Vollmacht über alle bösen Geister sowie zur Heilung von Krankheiten,

Y JUNTANDO á sus doce discípulos, les dió virtud y potestad sobre todos los demonios, y que sanasen enfermedades.

hierauf sandte er sie aus, das Reich Gottes zu verkünden und (die Kranken) zu heilen.

Dabei gab er ihnen die Weisung: »Nehmt nichts mit auf den Weg, weder einen Stock noch einen Ranzen, weder Brot noch Geld; auch sollt ihr nicht jeder zwei Röcke haben!

Y les dice: No toméis nada para el camino, ni báculo, ni alforja, ni pan, ni dinero; ni tengáis dos vestidos cada uno.

And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—no staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money. Don’t have two tunics each.

Wo ihr in ein Haus eingetreten seid, dort bleibt und von dort zieht weiter!

Y en cualquiera casa en que entrareis, quedad allí, y de allí salid.

And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.

Und wo man euch nicht aufnimmt, da geht aus einer solchen Stadt weg und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen ab zum Zeugnis wider sie!«

Y todos los que no os recibieren, saliéndoos de aquella ciudad, aun el polvo sacudid de vuestros pies en testimonio contra ellos.

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

So machten sie sich denn auf den Weg und wanderten von Dorf zu Dorf, indem sie überall die Heilsbotschaft verkündeten und Heilungen vollführten.

Y saliendo, rodeaban por todas las aldeas, anunciando el evangelio, y sanando por todas partes.

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

Es hörte aber der Vierfürst Herodes von allen diesen Begebenheiten und fühlte sich dadurch beunruhigt; denn manche behaupteten, Johannes sei von den Toten auferweckt worden;

andere wieder meinten, Elia sei erschienen; noch andere, einer von den alten Propheten sei auferstanden.

And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

Herodes aber sagte: »Den Johannes habe ich enthaupten lassen; wer mag nun dieser sein, über den ich solche Dinge höre?« So hegte er denn den Wunsch, Jesus persönlich zu sehen.

Y dijo Herodes: A Juan yo degollé: ¿quién pues será éste, de quien yo oigo tales cosas? Y procuraba verle.

And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

Herod said, “I beheaded John, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

Nach ihrer Rückkehr berichteten ihm die Apostel alles, was sie getan hatten. Da nahm er sie mit sich und zog sich in die Stille zurück in eine Ortschaft namens Bethsaida.

Y vueltos los apóstoles, le contaron todas las cosas que habían hecho. Y tomándolos, se retiró aparte á un lugar desierto de la ciudad que se llama Bethsaida.

And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

Als aber die Volksmenge das in Erfahrung gebracht hatte, zogen sie ihm nach, und er ließ sie auch zu sich kommen, redete zu ihnen vom Reiche Gottes und machte die gesund, welche der Heilung bedurften.

Y como lo entendieron las gentes, le siguieron; y él las recibió, y les hablaba del reino de Dios, y sanaba á los que tenían necesidad de cura.

And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, spoke to them of God’s Kingdom, and he cured those who needed healing.

Als der Tag sich dann zu neigen begann, traten die Zwölf an ihn heran und sagten zu ihm: »Laß das Volk ziehen, damit sie in die umliegenden Ortschaften und Gehöfte gehen und dort Unterkunft und Verpflegung finden; denn hier sind wir in einer öden Gegend.«

Y el día había comenzado á declinar; y llegándose los doce, le dijeron: Despide á las gentes, para que yendo á las aldeas y heredades de alrededor, procedan á alojarse y hallen viandas; porque aquí estamos en lugar desierto.

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms and lodge and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

Doch er antwortete ihnen: »Gebt ihr ihnen doch zu essen!« Da erwiderten sie: »Wir haben nicht mehr als fünf Brote und zwei Fische; wir müßten sonst hingehen und Lebensmittel für dieses ganze Volk einkaufen« –

Y les dice: Dadles vosotros de comer. Y dijeron ellos: No tenemos más que cinco panes y dos pescados, si no vamos nosotros á comprar viandas para toda esta compañía.

But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.”

es waren nämlich gegen fünftausend Männer. Er sagte aber zu seinen Jüngern: »Laßt sie sich in Gruppen von etwa je fünfzig Personen lagern.«

Y eran como cinco mil hombres. Entonces dijo á sus discípulos: Hacedlos sentar en ranchos, de cincuenta en cincuenta.

For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

Sie taten so und brachten alle dazu, sich zu lagern.

Darauf nahm er die fünf Brote und die beiden Fische, blickte zum Himmel auf, sprach den Lobpreis (Gottes), brach die Brote und gab sie immer wieder den Jüngern, damit diese sie dem Volk vorlegten.

Y tomando los cinco panes y los dos pescados, mirando al cielo los bendijo, y partió, y dió á sus discípulos para que pusiesen delante de las gentes.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

Und sie aßen und wurden alle satt; dann las man die Brocken auf, die sie übriggelassen hatten, zwölf Körbe voll.

And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

Es begab sich hierauf, als er für sich allein betete, daß nur die Jünger sich bei ihm befanden; da fragte er sie: »Für wen halten mich die Volksscharen?«

Y aconteció que estando él solo orando, estaban con él los discípulos; y les preguntó diciendo: ¿Quién dicen las gentes que soy?

And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

As he was praying alone, the disciples were near him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”

Sie gaben ihm zur Antwort: »Für Johannes den Täufer, andere für Elia, noch andere meinen, einer von den alten Propheten sei auferstanden.«

Y ellos respondieron, y dijeron: Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, que algún profeta de los antiguos ha resucitado.

They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets has risen again.”

Darauf fragte er sie weiter: »Ihr aber – für wen haltet ihr mich?« Da antwortete Petrus: »Für Christus, den Gottgesalbten!«

Y les dijo: ¿Y vosotros, quién decís que soy? Entonces respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: El Cristo de Dios.

He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

Da gab er ihnen die strenge Weisung und gebot ihnen, sie sollten das niemand sagen,

Mas él, conminándolos, mandó que á nadie dijesen esto;

And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

But he warned them and commanded them to tell this to no one,

und fügte noch hinzu: »Der Menschensohn muß vieles leiden und von den Ältesten und Hohenpriestern und Schriftgelehrten verworfen werden und den Tod erleiden und am dritten Tage auferweckt werden.«

Diciendo: Es necesario que el Hijo del hombre padezca muchas cosas, y sea desechado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y que sea muerto, y resucite al tercer día.

Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

Dann sagte er zu allen: »Will jemand mein Nachfolger sein, so verleugne er sich selbst und nehme sein Kreuz Tag für Tag auf sich und folge so mir nach! –

Y decía á todos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz cada día, y sígame.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Denn wer sein Leben retten will, der wird es verlieren; wer aber sein Leben um meinetwillen verliert, der wird es retten.

Porque cualquiera que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y cualquiera que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, éste la salvará.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.

Denn was hülfe es einem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewänne, sich selbst aber verlöre oder einbüßte? –

Porque ¿qué aprovecha al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y se pierda él á sí mismo, ó corra peligro de sí?

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

Denn wer sich meiner und meiner Worte schämt, dessen wird auch der Menschensohn sich schämen, wenn er in seiner Herrlichkeit und in der Herrlichkeit des Vaters und der heiligen Engel kommt.

Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras, de este tal el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará cuando viniere en su gloria, y del Padre, y de los santos ángeles.

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

Ich sage euch aber der Wahrheit gemäß: Einige unter denen, die hier stehen, werden den Tod nicht schmecken, bis sie das Reich Gottes gesehen haben.«

Y os digo en verdad, que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte, hasta que vean el reino de Dios.

But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God’s Kingdom.”

Etwa acht Tage nach diesen Unterredungen nahm er Petrus, Johannes und Jakobus mit sich und stieg auf den Berg, um zu beten.

Y aconteció como ocho días después de estas palabras, que tomó á Pedro y á Juan y á Jacobo, y subió al monte á orar.

And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

Während er nun betete, veränderte sich das Aussehen seines Angesichts, und seine Kleidung wurde leuchtend weiß.

Y entre tanto que oraba, la apariencia de su rostro se hizo otra, y su vestido blanco y resplandeciente.

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.

Und siehe, zwei Männer besprachen sich mit ihm, das waren Mose und Elia;

Y he aquí dos varones que hablaban con él, los cuales eran Moisés y Elías;

And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah,

sie erschienen in (himmlischer) Herrlichkeit und redeten davon, wie sein Lebensausgang sich in Jerusalem vollziehen sollte.

Que aparecieron en majestad, y hablaban de su salida, la cual había de cumplir en Jerusalem.

Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Petrus aber und seine Genossen waren von schwerer Schläfrigkeit befallen; weil sie sich aber mit Gewalt wach hielten, sahen sie seine Herrlichkeit und die beiden Männer, die bei ihm standen.

Y Pedro y los que estaban con él, estaban cargados de sueño: y como despertaron, vieron su majestad, y á aquellos dos varones que estaban con él.

But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

Als diese von ihm scheiden wollten, sagte Petrus zu Jesus: »Meister, hier sind wir gut aufgehoben; wir wollen drei Hütten bauen, eine für dich, eine für Mose und eine für Elia« – er wußte nämlich nicht, was er da sagte.

Y aconteció, que apartándose ellos de él, Pedro dice á Jesús: Maestro, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: y hagamos tres pabellones, uno para ti, y uno para Moisés, y uno para Elías; no sabiendo lo que se decía.

And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

As they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.

Während er noch so redete, kam eine Wolke und überschattete sie; und sie gerieten in Furcht, als sie in die Wolke hineinkamen.

Y estando él hablando esto, vino una nube que los cubrió; y tuvieron temor, entrando ellos en la nube.

While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

Da erscholl eine Stimme aus der Wolke, die rief: »Dies ist mein auserwählter Sohn: höret auf ihn!«,

Y vino una voz de la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado; á él oid.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”

und während die Stimme erscholl, fand es sich, daß Jesus allein da war. Und die Jünger blieben verschwiegen und teilten in jenen Tagen niemand etwas von dem mit, was sie gesehen hatten.

Y pasada aquella voz, Jesús fué hallado solo: y ellos callaron; y por aquellos días no dijeron nada á nadie de lo que habían visto.

And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

Als sie aber am folgenden Tage von dem Berge wieder hinabgestiegen waren, kam ihm eine große Volksmenge entgegen.

Y aconteció al día siguiente, que apartándose ellos del monte, gran compañía les salió al encuentro.

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.

Da rief ein Mann aus der Volksmenge heraus: »Meister, ich bitte dich: nimm dich meines Sohnes an, er ist ja mein einziger!

Y he aquí, un hombre de la compañía clamó, diciendo: Maestro, ruégote que veas á mi hijo; que es el único que tengo:

And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only born child.

Siehe, ein Geist packt ihn, so daß er plötzlich aufschreit; und er zerrt ihn hin und her, so daß ihm Schaum vor den Mund tritt, und läßt nur schwer von ihm ab: er reibt seine Kräfte ganz auf!

Y he aquí un espíritu le toma, y de repente da voces; y le despedaza y hace echar espuma, y apenas se aparta de él quebrantándole.

And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams; and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.

Ich habe deine Jünger gebeten, sie möchten ihn austreiben, doch sie haben es nicht gekonnt.«

Y rogué á tus discípulos que le echasen fuera, y no pudieron.

And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.”

Da antwortete Jesus: »O ihr ungläubige und verkehrte Art von Menschen! Wie lange soll ich noch bei euch sein und es mit euch aushalten? Bringe deinen Sohn hierher!«

Y respondiendo Jesús, dice: ¡Oh generación infiel y perversa! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros, y os sufriré? Trae tu hijo acá.

And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”

Während nun der Knabe noch auf ihn zuging, riß der böse Geist ihn hin und her und zog ihn krampfhaft zusammen. Jesus aber bedrohte den unreinen Geist, heilte den Knaben und gab ihn seinem Vater (gesund) zurück.

Y como aun se acercaba, el demonio le derribó y despedazó: mas Jesús increpó al espíritu inmundo, y sanó al muchacho, y se lo volvió á su padre.

And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

Da gerieten alle außer sich vor Staunen über die große Macht Gottes. Während nun alle voll Verwunderung über alle seine Taten waren, sagte er zu seinen Jüngern:

Y todos estaban atónitos de la grandeza de Dios. Y maravillándose todos de todas las cosas que hacía, dijo á sus discípulos:

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

»Laßt ihr die Worte, die ich euch jetzt sage, in eure Ohren dringen! Denn der Menschensohn wird in die Hände der Menschen überantwortet werden.«

Poned vosotros en vuestros oídos estas palabras; porque ha de acontecer que el Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres.

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

“Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

Sie verstanden aber diesen Ausspruch nicht, sondern er blieb vor ihnen verhüllt, damit sie ihn nicht begriffen; doch scheuten sie sich, ihn wegen dieses Ausspruchs zu befragen.

Mas ellos no entendían esta palabra, y les era encubierta para que no la entendiesen; y temían preguntarle de esta palabra.

But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Es stieg aber (einmal) der Gedanke in ihnen auf, wer wohl der Größte unter ihnen wäre.

Entonces entraron en disputa, cuál de ellos sería el mayor.

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

An argument arose among them about which of them was the greatest.

Da Jesus nun den Gedanken kannte, der sie beschäftigte, nahm er ein Kind, stellte es neben sich

Mas Jesús, viendo los pensamientos del corazón de ellos, tomó un niño, y púsole junto á sí,

And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,

und sagte zu ihnen: »Wenn jemand dieses Kind auf meinen Namen hin aufnimmt, so nimmt er mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, der nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat; denn wer der Kleinste unter euch allen ist, der ist groß.«

Y les dice: Cualquiera que recibiere este niño en mi nombre, á mí recibe; y cualquiera que me recibiere á mí, recibe al que me envió; porque el que fuere el menor entre todos vosotros, éste será el grande.

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”

Da nahm Johannes das Wort und sagte: »Meister, wir haben jemand gesehen, der mit deinem Namen böse Geister austrieb, und haben es ihm untersagt, weil er dir nicht mit uns nachfolgt.«

Entonces respondiendo Juan, dijo: Maestro, hemos visto á uno que echaba fuera demonios en tu nombre; y se lo prohibimos, porque no sigue con nosotros.

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”

Jesus aber erwiderte ihm: »Untersagt es ihm nicht! Denn wer nicht gegen euch ist, der ist für euch.«

Jesús le dijo: No se lo prohibáis; porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.

And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”

Als dann aber die Zeit seines Hingangs herankam, richtete er fest entschlossen sein Augenmerk darauf, nach Jerusalem zu ziehen,

Y aconteció que, como se cumplió el tiempo en que había de ser recibido arriba, él afirmó su rostro para ir á Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem

Als die Jünger Jakobus und Johannes das sahen, fragten sie: »Herr, willst du, daß wir aussprechen, es solle Feuer vom Himmel fallen und sie verzehren, wie auch Elia getan hat?«

Y viendo esto sus discípulos Jacobo y Juan, dijeron: Señor, ¿quieres que mandemos que descienda fuego del cielo, y los consuma, como hizo Elías?

Er aber wandte sich um und verwies es ihnen mit den Worten: »Wißt ihr nicht, welches Geistes Kinder ihr seid? Der Menschensohn ist nicht gekommen, um Menschenleben zu vernichten, sondern um sie zu retten.«

Als sie dann des Weges weiterzogen, sagte einer zu ihm: »Ich will dir folgen, wohin du auch gehst.«

And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

Jesus antwortete ihm: »Die Füchse haben Gruben und die Vögel des Himmels Nester, der Menschensohn aber hat keine Stätte, wohin er sein Haupt legen kann.« –

Y le dijo Jesús: Las zorras tienen cuevas, y las aves de los cielos nidos; mas el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde recline la cabeza.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Zu einem anderen sagte er: »Folge mir nach!« Der entgegnete: »Erlaube mir, zunächst noch hinzugehen und meinen Vater zu begraben.«

Y dijo á otro: Sígueme. Y él dijo: Señor, déjame que primero vaya y entierre á mi padre.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

Da antwortete er ihm: »Laß die Toten ihre Toten begraben! Du aber gehe hin und verkündige das Reich Gottes!« –

Y Jesús le dijo: Deja los muertos que entierren á sus muertos; y tú, ve, y anuncia el reino de Dios.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.”

Noch ein anderer sagte: »Herr, ich will dir folgen; zunächst aber gestatte mir, von meinen Hausgenossen Abschied zu nehmen!«

Entonces también dijo otro: Te seguiré, Señor; mas déjame que me despida primero de los que están en mi casa.

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”

Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: »Niemand, der die Hand an den Pflug gelegt hat und dann noch rückwärts blickt, ist für das Reich Gottes tauglich.«

Y Jesús le dijo: Ninguno que poniendo su mano al arado mira atrás, es apto para el reino de Dios.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”
