Lucas 9

Um dia Jesus reuniu seus doze discípulos e deu-lhes poder e autoridade para expulsar todos os demônios e para curar doenças.

Y JUNTANDO á sus doce discípulos, les dió virtud y potestad sobre todos los demonios, y que sanasen enfermedades.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

Depois os enviou para falar a todo mundo a respeito da vinda do Reino de Deus e para curar os enfermos.

Y los envió á que predicasen el reino de Dios, y que sanasen á los enfermos.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

He sent them out to preach God’s Kingdom and to heal the sick.

“Não levem com vocês nem um bordão”, recomendou-lhes, “nem sacola, nem pão, nem dinheiro, nem mesmo uma túnica de sobra.

Y les dice: No toméis nada para el camino, ni báculo, ni alforja, ni pan, ni dinero; ni tengáis dos vestidos cada uno.

And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey—no staffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money. Don’t have two tunics each.

Hospedem-se em apenas uma casa em cada aldeia.

Y en cualquiera casa en que entrareis, quedad allí, y de allí salid.

And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.

Se o povo de uma cidade não quiser ouvir vocês quando entrarem, sacudam a poeira dos seus pés quando saírem daquela cidade, como sinal de protesto contra a cidade”.

Y todos los que no os recibieren, saliéndoos de aquella ciudad, aun el polvo sacudid de vuestros pies en testimonio contra ellos.

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

As many as don’t receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.”

Então eles começaram a percorrer as aldeias, pregando a boa-nova e curando os doentes por toda parte.

Y saliendo, rodeaban por todas las aldeas, anunciando el evangelio, y sanando por todas partes.

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

They departed and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News and healing everywhere.

Quando as informações dos milagres de Jesus chegaram ao governador Herodes, o tetrarca, ele ficou perturbado e confuso, pois alguns estavam dizendo: “Este é João Batista, que ressuscitou dos mortos”;

Y oyó Herodes el tetrarca todas las cosas que hacía; y estaba en duda, porque decían algunos: Juan ha resucitado de los muertos;

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

e outros: “É Elias ou algum outro profeta antigo que se levantou dentre os mortos”. Esses boatos estavam circulando por toda a região.

Y otros: Elías ha aparecido; y otros: Algún profeta de los antiguos ha resucitado.

And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.

“Eu cortei a cabeça de João”, dizia Herodes, “portanto, quem é esse homem, de quem eu ouço essas coisas?” E ele procurava ver Jesus.

Y dijo Herodes: A Juan yo degollé: ¿quién pues será éste, de quien yo oigo tales cosas? Y procuraba verle.

And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

Herod said, “I beheaded John, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

Depois que os discípulos voltaram a Jesus e contaram o que haviam feito, eles se retiraram para a cidade de Betsaida.

Y vueltos los apóstoles, le contaron todas las cosas que habían hecho. Y tomándolos, se retiró aparte á un lugar desierto de la ciudad que se llama Bethsaida.

And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them and withdrew apart to a desert region of a city called Bethsaida.

Mas o povo descobriu para onde ele estava indo, e foi atrás. Ele os recebeu bem, ensinando-lhes mais uma vez acerca do Reino de Deus e curando os que estavam doentes.

Y como lo entendieron las gentes, le siguieron; y él las recibió, y les hablaba del reino de Dios, y sanaba á los que tenían necesidad de cura.

And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, spoke to them of God’s Kingdom, and he cured those who needed healing.

Ao fim da tarde os doze discípulos vieram e lhe sugeriram que mandasse o povo embora para as aldeias e propriedades dos arredores, a fim de arranjarem comida e abrigo para a noite: “Pois não há nada para comer aqui neste lugar deserto”, disseram eles.

Y el día había comenzado á declinar; y llegándose los doce, le dijeron: Despide á las gentes, para que yendo á las aldeas y heredades de alrededor, procedan á alojarse y hallen viandas; porque aquí estamos en lugar desierto.

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms and lodge and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

Mas Jesus respondeu: “Deem vocês comida a eles!” “Como, se temos apenas cinco pães e dois peixes?”, protestaram eles. “Nem poderíamos comprar comida para toda essa multidão”.

Y les dice: Dadles vosotros de comer. Y dijeron ellos: No tenemos más que cinco panes y dos pescados, si no vamos nosotros á comprar viandas para toda esta compañía.

But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people.”

Havia ali cerca de 5.000 homens! “Digam-lhes apenas que se sentem no chão em grupos de cinquenta”, respondeu Jesus.

Y eran como cinco mil hombres. Entonces dijo á sus discípulos: Hacedlos sentar en ranchos, de cincuenta en cincuenta.

For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

E assim fizeram eles, e todos se assentaram.

Jesus tomou os cinco pães e os dois peixes, levantou os olhos para o céu e deu graças; depois partiu em pedaços para os discípulos servirem à multidão.

Y tomando los cinco panes y los dos pescados, mirando al cielo los bendijo, y partió, y dió á sus discípulos para que pusiesen delante de las gentes.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

Todos comeram à vontade; e ainda foram recolhidos doze cestos cheios de pedaços que sobraram!

Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que les sobró, doce cestos de pedazos.

And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

Um dia, quando estava orando sozinho, com os seus discípulos por perto, Jesus aproximou-se e perguntou-lhes: “Quem o povo está dizendo que eu sou?”

Y aconteció que estando él solo orando, estaban con él los discípulos; y les preguntó diciendo: ¿Quién dicen las gentes que soy?

And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

As he was praying alone, the disciples were near him, and he asked them, “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”

“João Batista”, disseram-lhe eles, “outros, Elias, ou um dos outros profetas antigos que se levantou dentre os mortos”.

Y ellos respondieron, y dijeron: Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, que algún profeta de los antiguos ha resucitado.

They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

They answered, “‘John the Baptizer,’ but others say, ‘Elijah,’ and others, that one of the old prophets has risen again.”

Então ele perguntou-lhes: “Quem vocês dizem que eu sou?” Pedro respondeu: “O Cristo de Deus!”

Y les dijo: ¿Y vosotros, quién decís que soy? Entonces respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: El Cristo de Dios.

He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

Jesus deu-lhes ordens rigorosas para não falarem isso a ninguém.

Mas él, conminándolos, mandó que á nadie dijesen esto;

And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

But he warned them and commanded them to tell this to no one,

“Porque é necessário que o Filho do Homem sofra muito”, disse ele, “seja rejeitado pelos líderes religiosos, pelos sacerdotes principais e pelos mestres da lei e seja morto e ressuscitado no terceiro dia!”

Diciendo: Es necesario que el Hijo del hombre padezca muchas cosas, y sea desechado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y que sea muerto, y resucite al tercer día.

Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

Então ele disse a todos: “Aquele que quiser me seguir, deve pôr de lado seus próprios desejos e carregar sua cruz cada dia, e me acompanhar!

Y decía á todos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz cada día, y sígame.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Quem insistir em salvar a sua vida, a perderá; mas quem perder a sua vida por minha causa, a salvará;

Porque cualquiera que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y cualquiera que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, éste la salvará.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.

e que vantagem há em ganhar o mundo inteiro, e perder a vida ou ser destruído?

Porque ¿qué aprovecha al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y se pierda él á sí mismo, ó corra peligro de sí?

For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

Quando o Filho do Homem vier na sua glória e na glória do Pai e dos anjos, ele se envergonhará de todos aqueles que agora se envergonham dele e das suas palavras.

Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras, de este tal el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará cuando viniere en su gloria, y del Padre, y de los santos ángeles.

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

Porém, esta é a pura verdade: alguns de vocês que se acham aqui não morrerão antes de verem o Reino de Deus!”

Y os digo en verdad, que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte, hasta que vean el reino de Dios.

But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God’s Kingdom.”

Oito dias depois Jesus levou consigo Pedro, João e Tiago e subiu num monte para orar.

Y aconteció como ocho días después de estas palabras, que tomó á Pedro y á Juan y á Jacobo, y subió al monte á orar.

And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.

E quando ele estava orando, seu rosto começou a se transformar, e suas roupas ficaram brancas e brilhantes como o brilho de um relâmpago.

Y entre tanto que oraba, la apariencia de su rostro se hizo otra, y su vestido blanco y resplandeciente.

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.

Então apareceram dois homens e começaram a falar com Jesus. Eram Moisés e Elias!

Y he aquí dos varones que hablaban con él, los cuales eran Moisés y Elías;

And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah,

Eram de uma aparência esplendorosa e gloriosa; estavam falando da partida de Jesus de Jerusalém, que iria acontecer de acordo com os planos de Deus.

Que aparecieron en majestad, y hablaban de su salida, la cual había de cumplir en Jerusalem.

Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Pedro e os outros estavam muito sonolentos e adormeceram. Mas acordaram e viram Jesus cercado de brilho e de glória, e dois homens que estavam com ele.

Y Pedro y los que estaban con él, estaban cargados de sueño: y como despertaron, vieron su majestad, y á aquellos dos varones que estaban con él.

But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

Quando Moisés e Elias iam se retirando, Pedro, todo confuso e não sabendo nem o que estava dizendo, falou: “Mestre, isso é maravilhoso! Vamos armar três abrigos, um para o Senhor, um para Moisés e outro para Elias!”

Y aconteció, que apartándose ellos de él, Pedro dice á Jesús: Maestro, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: y hagamos tres pabellones, uno para ti, y uno para Moisés, y uno para Elías; no sabiendo lo que se decía.

And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

As they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.

Mas, no mesmo instante em que ele estava dizendo isto, uma nuvem surgiu e os envolveu, e o medo tomou conta deles quando a nuvem os cobriu.

Y estando él hablando esto, vino una nube que los cubrió; y tuvieron temor, entrando ellos en la nube.

While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

E uma voz da nuvem disse: “Este é meu Filho, meu escolhido, a quem vocês devem ouvir”.

Y vino una voz de la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado; á él oid.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

A voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”

Então, quando a voz parou de falar, Jesus estava sozinho com seus discípulos. Eles não contaram a ninguém o que tinham visto até muito tempo depois.

Y pasada aquella voz, Jesús fué hallado solo: y ellos callaron; y por aquellos días no dijeron nada á nadie de lo que habían visto.

And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

No outro dia, quando desceram do monte, uma enorme multidão veio ao encontro dele,

Y aconteció al día siguiente, que apartándose ellos del monte, gran compañía les salió al encuentro.

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.

e um homem da multidão gritou: “Mestre, este menino aqui é o meu único filho,

Y he aquí, un hombre de la compañía clamó, diciendo: Maestro, ruégote que veas á mi hijo; que es el único que tengo:

And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only born child.

e um espírito o domina, fazendo-o gritar. Ele tem convulsões, de modo que espuma pela boca; o demônio dificilmente o deixa em paz e o está maltratando.

Y he aquí un espíritu le toma, y de repente da voces; y le despedaza y hace echar espuma, y apenas se aparta de él quebrantándole.

And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams; and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.

Eu pedi aos seus discípulos que o expulsassem, porém eles não conseguiram”.

Y rogué á tus discípulos que le echasen fuera, y no pudieron.

And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn’t.”

“Ó geração sem fé!”, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos. “Até quando estarei com vocês e terei de suportá-los? Tragam o menino aqui”.

Y respondiendo Jesús, dice: ¡Oh generación infiel y perversa! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros, y os sufriré? Trae tu hijo acá.

And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”

Quando o menino ia chegando, foi jogado no chão pelo demônio, numa violenta convulsão. Mas Jesus repreendeu o espírito imundo, e curou o menino, entregando-o ao seu pai.

Y como aun se acercaba, el demonio le derribó y despedazó: mas Jesús increpó al espíritu inmundo, y sanó al muchacho, y se lo volvió á su padre.

And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

O espanto apoderou-se do povo diante da grandeza e poder de Deus. Enquanto isso, como estavam admirados de todas as coisas maravilhosas que ele estava fazendo, Jesus disse aos seus discípulos:

Y todos estaban atónitos de la grandeza de Dios. Y maravillándose todos de todas las cosas que hacía, dijo á sus discípulos:

And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

“Ouçam-me e lembrem-se do que eu vou dizer a vocês: O Filho do Homem será traído e entregue nas mãos dos homens”.

Poned vosotros en vuestros oídos estas palabras; porque ha de acontecer que el Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres.

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

“Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

Mas os discípulos não sabiam o que ele queria dizer, porque suas mentes estavam fechadas, e tinham medo de perguntar-lhe a respeito dessa palavra.

Mas ellos no entendían esta palabra, y les era encubierta para que no la entendiesen; y temían preguntarle de esta palabra.

But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Ora, surgiu entre eles uma discussão sobre qual deles seria o maior.

Entonces entraron en disputa, cuál de ellos sería el mayor.

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

An argument arose among them about which of them was the greatest.

Mas Jesus, conhecendo os pensamentos deles, pôs uma criancinha em pé, ao seu lado,

Mas Jesús, viendo los pensamientos del corazón de ellos, tomó un niño, y púsole junto á sí,

And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,

dizendo-lhes: “Quem recebe esta criança em meu nome, está recebendo a mim! E quem me recebe, está recebendo aquele que me enviou. O seu cuidado pelos outros é a medida da grandeza de vocês”.

Y les dice: Cualquiera que recibiere este niño en mi nombre, á mí recibe; y cualquiera que me recibiere á mí, recibe al que me envió; porque el que fuere el menor entre todos vosotros, éste será el grande.

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”

Seu discípulo João veio a ele e disse: “Mestre, nós vimos alguém usando o seu nome para expulsar demônios, e lhe proibimos de fazê-lo. Afinal, ele não está no nosso grupo”.

Entonces respondiendo Juan, dijo: Maestro, hemos visto á uno que echaba fuera demonios en tu nombre; y se lo prohibimos, porque no sigue con nosotros.

And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”

Mas Jesus disse: “Vocês não deviam ter agido assim! Porque todo aquele que não está contra vocês, está a favor de vocês”.

Jesús le dijo: No se lo prohibáis; porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.

And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Jesus said to him, “Don’t forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us.”

Como se aproximava o tempo da sua volta para o céu, Jesus resolveu decididamente ir para Jerusalém.

Y aconteció que, como se cumplió el tiempo en que había de ser recibido arriba, él afirmó su rostro para ir á Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem

Ele enviou mensageiros adiante a fim de reservarem hospedagem numa aldeia samaritana,

Y envió mensajeros delante de sí, los cuales fueron y entraron en una ciudad de los Samaritanos, para prevenirle.

And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

and sent messengers before his face. They went and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.

Porém foram mandados embora! O povo da aldeia não quis recebê-los, porque se dirigiam a Jerusalém.

Mas no le recibieron, porque era su traza de ir á Jerusalem.

And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

They didn’t receive him, because he was traveling with his face set toward Jerusalem.

Quando veio a notícia do que tinha acontecido, os discípulos Tiago e João disseram a Jesus: “Senhor, podemos pedir que caia fogo do céu para queimar todos eles?”

Y viendo esto sus discípulos Jacobo y Juan, dijeron: Señor, ¿quieres que mandemos que descienda fuego del cielo, y los consuma, como hizo Elías?

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky and destroy them, just as Elijah did?”

Mas Jesus voltou-se e chamou a atenção deles, dizendo: “Vocês não percebem com que se parece o coração de vocês. Porque o Filho do Homem não veio para destruir a vida dos homens, mas para salvá-la”.

Entonces volviéndose él, los reprendió, diciendo: Vosotros no sabéis de qué espíritu sois;

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

But he turned and rebuked them, “You don’t know of what kind of spirit you are.

E eles foram adiante, para outra aldeia.

Porque el Hijo del hombre no ha venido para perder las almas de los hombres, sino para salvarlas. Y se fueron á otra aldea.

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” They went to another village.

Quando iam passando, alguém disse a Jesus: “Eu o seguirei sempre, aonde quer que for”.

Y aconteció que yendo ellos, uno le dijo en el camino: Señor, te seguiré donde quiera que fueres.

And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”

Mas Jesus respondeu: “Eu não possuo nem um lugar para encostar a cabeça. As raposas têm covas para morar, e os pássaros têm ninhos, porém o Filho do Homem não tem onde repousar a sua cabeça aqui na terra”.

Y le dijo Jesús: Las zorras tienen cuevas, y las aves de los cielos nidos; mas el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde recline la cabeza.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

A outro ele disse: “Siga-me”. Mas o homem respondeu: “Senhor, permita-me ir primeiro sepultar meu pai”.

Y dijo á otro: Sígueme. Y él dijo: Señor, déjame que primero vaya y entierre á mi padre.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

Jesus respondeu: “Deixe que os mortos sepultem seus próprios mortos; o seu dever é vir e proclamar o Reino de Deus”.

Y Jesús le dijo: Deja los muertos que entierren á sus muertos; y tú, ve, y anuncia el reino de Dios.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.”

Ainda outro disse: “Sim, Senhor, eu irei, mas deixa-me primeiro voltar e despedir-me da minha casa”.

Entonces también dijo otro: Te seguiré, Señor; mas déjame que me despida primero de los que están en mi casa.

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”

Mas Jesus lhe disse: “Todo aquele que põe a mão no arado e olha para trás não está apto para o Reino de Deus”.

Y Jesús le dijo: Ninguno que poniendo su mano al arado mira atrás, es apto para el reino de Dios.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”
