A revelation, the LORD’s word to Israel by Malachi.

Ich habe euch geliebt, spricht Jehovah; und ihr sprecht: Worin hast Du uns geliebt? Ist Esau nicht Jakobs Bruder? spricht Jehovah. Und Jakob liebte Ich.

Yo os he amado, dice Jehová: y dijisteis: ¿En qué nos amaste? ¿No era Esaú hermano de Jacob, dice Jehová, y amé á Jacob,

I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

“I have loved you,” says the LORD. Yet you say, “How have you loved us?” “Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother?” says the LORD, “Yet I loved Jacob;

Und Esau haßte Ich und machte seine Berge zur Verwüstung und sein Erbe den Drachen der Wüste.

Y á Esaú aborrecí, y torné sus montes en asolamiento, y su posesión para los chacales del desierto?

And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.”

So Edom spricht: Wir sind zerschlagen, aber wir kehren zurück und bauen die Verödungen, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen also: Sie bauen, und Ich reiße ein, und man wird sie die Grenze der Ungerechtigkeit nennen und das Volk, gegen das Jehovah ergrimmt ist ewiglich.

Cuando Edom dijere: Nos hemos empobrecido, mas tornemos á edificar lo arruinado; así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Ellos edificarán, y yo destruiré: y les llamarán Provincia de impiedad, y, Pueblo contra quien Jehová se airó para siempre.

Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

Whereas Edom says, “We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places,” the LORD of Armies says, “They shall build, but I will throw down; and men will call them ‘The Wicked Land,’ even the people against whom the LORD shows wrath forever.”

Und eure Augen sollen es sehen, und ihr sollt sprechen: Groß ist Jehovah, über die Grenze Israels hinaus.

Y vuestros ojos lo verán, y diréis: Sea Jehová engrandecido sobre la provincia de Israel.

And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.

Your eyes will see, and you will say, “The LORD is great—even beyond the border of Israel!”

Ein Sohn ehrt den Vater und seinen Herrn der Knecht. Bin Ich aber Vater, wo ist Meine Herrlichkeit? Und bin Ich Herr, wo ist die Furcht vor Mir, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen zu euch, ihr Priester, die ihr verachtet Meinen Namen. Und ihr sprecht: Worin verachten wir Deinen Namen?

El hijo honra al padre, y el siervo á su señor: si pues soy yo padre, ¿qué es de mi honra? y si soy señor, ¿qué es de mi temor?, dice Jehová de los ejércitos á vosotros, oh sacerdotes, que menospreciáis mi nombre. Y decís: ¿En qué hemos menospreciado tu nombre?

A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the LORD of Armies to you priests who despise my name. “You say, ‘How have we despised your name?’

Ihr bringt beflecktes Brot herzu auf Meinen Altar und sprecht: Womit beflecken wir Dich? Damit, daß ihr sagt: Der Tisch Jehovahs, er ist verächtlich.

Que ofrecéis sobre mi altar pan inmundo. Y dijisteis: ¿En qué te hemos amancillado? En que decís: La mesa de Jehová es despreciable.

Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

You offer polluted bread on my altar. You say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ In that you say, ‘The LORD’s table is contemptible.’

Und wenn ihr herzubringt Blindes zum Opfer, ist das nicht böse? Und wenn ihr herzubringt Lahmes und Krankes, ist das nicht böse? Bringe es doch deinem Statthalter dar, ob er wohl Gefallen an dir hat? Ob er dein Angesicht erhebt? spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.

Y cuando ofrecéis el animal ciego para sacrificar, ¿no es malo? asimismo cuando ofrecéis el cojo ó el enfermo, ¿no es malo? Preséntalo pues á tu príncipe: ¿acaso se agradará de ti, ó le serás acepto? dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says the LORD of Armies.

Und nun, fleht doch zu Gottes Angesicht, daß Er uns gnädig sei. Von eurer Hand ist solches geschehen, erhebt Er wohl euer Angesicht? spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.

Ahora pues, orad á la faz de Dios que tenga piedad de nosotros: esto de vuestra mano vino: ¿le seréis agradables? dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

“Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says the LORD of Armies.

Wäre doch einer unter euch, der die Torflügel gar zuschlösse, daß ihr nicht umsonst Meinen Altar anzündet. Ich habe an euch keine Lust, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und ein Speiseopfer aus eurer Hand ist Mir nicht wohlgefällig.

¿Quién también hay de vosotros que cierre las puertas ó alumbre mi altar de balde? Yo no recibo contentamiento en vosotros, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, ni de vuestra mano me será agradable el presente.

Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

“Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you,” says the LORD of Armies, “neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

Denn vom Aufgang der Sonne und bis zu ihrem Niedergang ist groß Mein Name unter den Völkerschaften, und an jedem Ort wird Meinem Namen Räucherwerk dargebracht und reines Speiseopfer; denn groß ist Mein Name unter den Völkerschaften, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.

Porque desde donde el sol nace hasta donde se pone, es grande mi nombre entre las gentes; y en todo lugar se ofrece á mi nombre perfume, y presente limpio: porque grande es mi nombre entre las gentes, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering; for my name is great among the nations,” says the LORD of Armies.

Ihr aber entweiht ihn, wenn ihr sprecht: Der Tisch Jehovahs, der ist befleckt, und sein Gewächs, seine Speise ist verächtlich.

Y vosotros lo habéis profanado cuando decís: Inmunda es la mesa de Jehová; y cuando hablan que su alimento es despreciable.

But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.

“But you profane it when you say, ‘The LORD’s table is polluted, and its fruit, even its food, is contemptible.’

Und ihr sprecht: Siehe, welche Mühsal, und achtet es gering, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und ihr habt Entrissenes und Lahmes und Krankes hereingebracht, und es als Speiseopfer hereingebracht. Und Ich soll Wohlgefallen daran haben aus eurer Hand? spricht Jehovah.

Habéis además dicho: ¡Oh qué trabajo! y lo desechasteis, dice Jehová de los ejércitos; y trajisteis lo hurtado, ó cojo, ó enfermo, y presentasteis ofrenda. ¿Seráme acepto eso de vuestra mano? dice Jehová.

Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.

You say also, ‘Behold, what a weariness it is!’ And you have sniffed at it”, says the LORD of Armies; “and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?” says the LORD.

Darum verflucht sei, wer da trüglich handelt und in seiner Herde hat ein Männliches, und dem Herrn gelobt und opfert ein Verdorbenes; denn ein großer König bin Ich, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und Mein Name ist furchtbar unter den Völkerschaften.

Maldito el engañoso, que tiene macho en su rebaño, y promete, y sacrifica lo dañado á Jehová: porque yo soy Gran Rey, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y mi nombre es formidable entre las gentes.

But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.

“But the deceiver is cursed who has in his flock a male, and vows and sacrifices to the Lord a defective thing; for I am a great King,” says the LORD of Armies, “and my name is awesome among the nations.”
