AHORA pues, oh sacerdotes, á vosotros es este mandamiento.
And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

Si no escuchan, y si no se toman en serio el dar gloria a mi nombre — dice el Señor de los Ejércitos —, entonces enviaré la maldición sobre ustedes, y maldeciré sus bendiciones. De hecho, ya las he maldecido, porque no se lo toman en serio.
Si no oyereis, y si no acordareis dar gloria á mi nombre, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, enviaré maldición sobre vosotros, y maldeciré vuestras bendiciones; y aun las he maldecido, porque no lo ponéis en vuestro corazón.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says the LORD of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.
Miren, yo reprenderé a su descendencia, y les untaré estiércol en la cara, el estiércol de sus fiestas, y serán barridos junto con él.
He aquí, yo os daño la sementera, y esparciré el estiércol sobre vuestros rostros, el estiércol de vuestras solemnidades, y con él seréis removidos.

Así sabrán que les he enviado este mandamiento, para que mi pacto con Leví se mantenga”, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.
Y sabréis que yo os envié este mandamiento, para que fuese mi pacto con Leví, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.
And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

“Mi pacto con él fue de vida y de paz, y se las di para que me mostrara reverencia; y él me reverenció, y tuvo un profundo respeto por mi nombre.
Mi pacto fué con él de vida y de paz, las cuales cosas yo le dí por el temor; porque me temió, y delante de mi nombre estuvo humillado.
My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

La ley de la verdad estaba en su boca, y en sus labios no se halló ninguna injusticia. Caminó conmigo en paz y en rectitud, y apartó a muchos de la maldad.

Porque los labios del sacerdote deben guardar el conocimiento, y la gente debe buscar la ley en su boca; porque él es el mensajero de Yahvé de los Ejércitos.

Pero ustedes se han apartado del camino. Han hecho que muchos tropiecen en la ley. Han corrompido el pacto de Leví”, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos.
Mas vosotros os habéis apartado del camino; habéis hecho tropezar á muchos en la ley; habéis corrompido el pacto de Leví, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

“Por eso yo también los he hecho despreciables y viles ante todo el pueblo, porque no han guardado mis caminos, sino que han mostrado favoritismo al aplicar la ley”.
Por tanto, yo también os torné viles y bajos á todo el pueblo, según que vosotros no habéis guardado mis caminos, y en la ley tenéis acepción de personas.

¿Acaso no tenemos todos un solo Padre? ¿No nos ha creado el mismo Dios? ¿Por qué, entonces, nos traicionamos unos a otros, profanando así el pacto de nuestros antepasados?

Judá ha actuado con traición, y se ha cometido una acción abominable en Israel y en Jerusalén; porque Judá ha profanado el santuario de Yahvé, el cual él ama, y se ha casado con mujeres que adoran a dioses extranjeros.

The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.

“Y también hacen esto: cubren el altar de Yahvé con lágrimas, con llantos y con suspiros, porque él ya no le presta atención a la ofrenda ni la recibe con gusto de las manos de ustedes.
Y esta otra vez haréis cubrir el altar de Jehová de lágrimas, de llanto, y de clamor; así que no miraré más á presente, para aceptarlo con gusto de vuestra mano.
And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.
“This again you do: you cover the LORD’s altar with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.
Pero ustedes preguntan: ‘¿Por qué?’. Pues porque Yahvé ha sido testigo entre tú y la esposa de tu juventud, a la cual has traicionado, a pesar de que es tu compañera y la esposa con la que hiciste un pacto.
Mas diréis: ¿Por qué? Porque Jehová ha atestiguado entre ti y la mujer de tu mocedad, contra la cual tú has sido desleal, siendo ella tu compañera, y la mujer de tu pacto.
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.
¿Acaso no los hizo Dios uno solo, ya que a él le sobra el Espíritu? ¿Y por qué uno solo? Porque buscaba una descendencia que le fuera fiel. Por lo tanto, cuiden su espíritu, y que nadie traicione a la mujer de su juventud.
Pues qué ¿no hizo él uno solo aunque tenía la abundancia del espíritu? ¿Y por qué uno? Para que procurara una simiente de Dios. Guardaos pues en vuestros espíritus, y contra la mujer de vuestra mocedad no seáis desleales.
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Porque el que la odia y se divorcia de ella — dice Yahvé, el Dios de Israel — se cubre de violencia”, dice Yahvé de los Ejércitos. “Por eso, cuiden su espíritu, para que no sean infieles”.
Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho que él aborrece que sea repudiada; y cubra la iniquidad con su vestido, dijo Jehová de los ejércitos. Guardaos pues en vuestros espíritus, y no seáis desleales.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
One who hates and divorces”, says the LORD, the God of Israel, “covers his garment with violence!” says the LORD of Armies. “Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.
Ustedes han cansado a Yahvé con sus palabras. Y todavía preguntan: “¿En qué lo hemos cansado?”. En que dicen: “Todo el que hace lo malo es bueno a los ojos de Yahvé, y él está contento con ellos”; o cuando dicen: “¿Dónde está el Dios de la justicia?”.
Habéis hecho cansar á Jehová con vuestras palabras. Y diréis: ¿En qué le hemos cansado? Cuando decís: Cualquiera que mal hace agrada á Jehová, y en los tales toma contentamiento: de otra manera, ¿dónde está el Dios de juicio?
Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?
