Malaquías 2

Sacerdotes, ouçam esta advertência:

AHORA pues, oh sacerdotes, á vosotros es este mandamiento.

And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

“Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.

“Se vocês não mudarem seu modo de viver e não derem glória ao meu nome”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, “ao invés de lhes dar bênçãos, como eu gostaria de fazer, vou lançar maldições sobre vocês. E até vou transformar as suas bênçãos em maldições. Na verdade, eu já os amaldiçoei, porque vocês não levaram a sério as coisas que me honram de coração.

Si no oyereis, y si no acordareis dar gloria á mi nombre, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, enviaré maldición sobre vosotros, y maldeciré vuestras bendiciones; y aun las he maldecido, porque no lo ponéis en vuestro corazón.

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says the LORD of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.

“Vou rejeitar seus filhos e esfregar em seus rostos os excrementos dos animais impuros que vocês me oferecem em suas festas. Vou jogá-los fora, junto com os excrementos.

He aquí, yo os daño la sementera, y esparciré el estiércol sobre vuestros rostros, el estiércol de vuestras solemnidades, y con él seréis removidos.

Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

Assim vocês saberão que fui eu quem mandou esse aviso para voltarem às leis que dei a Levi, seu pai”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

Y sabréis que yo os envié este mandamiento, para que fuese mi pacto con Leví, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.

And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

“O propósito dessas leis era dar a Levi vida e paz. Elas eram um meio de mostrar respeito e temor a mim, se fossem obedecidas. E ele mostrou esse respeito e temor por mim.

Mi pacto fué con él de vida y de paz, las cuales cosas yo le dí por el temor; porque me temió, y delante de mi nombre estuvo humillado.

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

Ele transmitiu ao povo todas as verdades que recebeu de mim. Não mentiu nem roubou; ele andou junto comigo, vivendo uma vida justa e pacífica, e tirou muita gente dos caminhos do pecado.

La ley de verdad estuvo en su boca, é iniquidad no fué hallada en sus labios: en paz y en justicia anduvo conmigo, y á muchos hizo apartar de la iniquidad.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

“Os lábios do sacerdote deveriam guardar o conhecimento de Deus para o povo aprender as suas leis. Os sacerdotes são mensageiros do Senhor dos Exércitos, e os homens deveriam procurar com eles a orientação de que precisam.

Porque los labios de los sacerdotes han de guardar la sabiduría, y de su boca buscarán la ley; porque mensajero es de Jehová de los ejércitos.

For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

Mas vocês deixaram os caminhos do Senhor. A orientação que vocês dão já fez muita gente cair no pecado. Vocês quebraram a aliança que fiz com Levi”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

Mas vosotros os habéis apartado del camino; habéis hecho tropezar á muchos en la ley; habéis corrompido el pacto de Leví, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

“Por isso, eu fiz com que o povo desprezasse e humilhasse vocês, porque não me obedeceram, mas deixaram seus protegidos quebrar a Lei, sem sequer repreendê-los”.

Por tanto, yo también os torné viles y bajos á todo el pueblo, según que vosotros no habéis guardado mis caminos, y en la ley tenéis acepción de personas.

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

“Therefore I have also made you contemptible and wicked before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.

Não somos filhos do mesmo pai? Não fomos todos criados pelo mesmo Deus? Por que será que somos desleais entre nós mesmos, quebrando a aliança de nossos antepassados?

¿No tenemos todos un mismo padre? ¿No nos ha criado un mismo Dios? ¿Por qué menospreciaremos cada uno á su hermano, quebrantando el pacto de nuestros padres?

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

Em Judá, em Israel e em Jerusalém existe traição, pois os homens desrespeitaram o templo, santo e amado, casando-se com mulheres pagãs, que adoram imagens de deuses estrangeiros.

Prevaricó Judá, y en Israel y en Jerusalem ha sido cometida abominación; porque Judá ha profanado la santidad de Jehová que amó, y casádose con hija de dios extraño.

Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.

Que o Senhor elimine do seu pacto de amor todo aquele que fizer isso, seja ele sacerdote ou homem comum, mesmo que esteja trazendo ofertas ao Senhor dos Exércitos!

Jehová talará de las tiendas de Jacob al hombre que hiciere esto, al que vela, y al que responde, y al que ofrece presente á Jehová de los ejércitos.

The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.

The LORD will cut off the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob and him who offers an offering to the LORD of Armies.

Mas, apesar disso, vocês cobrem de lágrimas o altar do Senhor; choram e gemem porque o Senhor não dá mais atenção às suas ofertas, nem tem prazer nelas.

Y esta otra vez haréis cubrir el altar de Jehová de lágrimas, de llanto, y de clamor; así que no miraré más á presente, para aceptarlo con gusto de vuestra mano.

And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

“This again you do: you cover the LORD’s altar with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.

“Por que Deus nos abandonou?”, vocês perguntam chorando. Eu vou dizer. É porque o Senhor viu a traição que vocês cometeram, abandonando suas esposas, que foram fiéis desde a mocidade. Aquelas companheiras a quem prometeram cuidado e sustento.

Mas diréis: ¿Por qué? Porque Jehová ha atestiguado entre ti y la mujer de tu mocedad, contra la cual tú has sido desleal, siendo ella tu compañera, y la mujer de tu pacto.

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.

Ninguém com um pouco de juízo faria isso. “Mas que fez um patriarca?”, dirão vocês. Bem, ele procurava uma descendência prometida por Deus. Portanto, tenham cuidado em seu espírito, e ninguém seja infiel à sua esposa!

Pues qué ¿no hizo él uno solo aunque tenía la abundancia del espíritu? ¿Y por qué uno? Para que procurara una simiente de Dios. Guardaos pues en vuestros espíritus, y contra la mujer de vuestra mocedad no seáis desleales.

And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Pois o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Eu odeio o divórcio e os homens violentos”. Então, tenham cuidado em seu espírito e não sejam infiéis!

Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho que él aborrece que sea repudiada; y cubra la iniquidad con su vestido, dijo Jehová de los ejércitos. Guardaos pues en vuestros espíritus, y no seáis desleales.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

One who hates and divorces”, says the LORD, the God of Israel, “covers his garment with violence!” says the LORD of Armies. “Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

Vocês cansaram o Senhor com suas reclamações e ainda perguntam, com falsa surpresa: “Como temos cansado o Senhor?” Quando afirmam: “Os que fazem o mal são bons, e isso agrada ao Senhor” e também quando perguntam: “Onde está o Deus da justiça?”

Habéis hecho cansar á Jehová con vuestras palabras. Y diréis: ¿En qué le hemos cansado? Cuando decís: Cualquiera que mal hace agrada á Jehová, y en los tales toma contentamiento: de otra manera, ¿dónde está el Dios de juicio?

Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, ‘How have we wearied him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the LORD’s sight, and he delights in them;’ or ‘Where is the God of justice?’
