Presten atención a lo que el Señor Todopoderoso dice: «Yo enviaré a mi mensajero delante de mí, para que me prepare el camino. Entonces el Señor, a quien buscan, vendrá repentinamente a su templo. Sí, vendrá primero el mensajero que anuncia la alianza de Dios, a quienes ustedes desean».
HE aquí, yo envío mi mensajero, el cual preparará el camino delante de mí: y luego vendrá á su templo el Señor á quien vosotros buscáis, y el ángel del pacto, á quien deseáis vosotros. He aquí viene, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me! The Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple. Behold, the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, is coming!” says the LORD of Armies.
Pero, ¿quién podrá permanecer de pie cuando aparezca? ¿Quién podrá soportar el impacto que provocará su venida? Porque será tan poderosa como el intenso fuego que se utiliza para purificar metales preciosos, y actuará como una poderosa lejía de lavandero cuando empiece a purificarlos a ustedes.
¿Y quién podrá sufrir el tiempo de su venida? ó ¿quién podrá estar cuando él se mostrará? Porque él es como fuego purificador, y como jabón de lavadores.
But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
“But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;
Como un refinador de plata se sentará y verá cómo se quema lo malo de su pueblo. Purificará a los levitas, los ministros de Dios, y los refinará como se refina el oro o la plata, a fin de que se dediquen a las cosas de Dios con limpio corazón.
Y sentarse ha para afinar y limpiar la plata: porque limpiará los hijos de Leví, los afinará como á oro y como á plata; y ofrecerán á Jehová ofrenda con justicia.
And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Entonces el Señor nuevamente aceptará con agrado la ofrenda que presenten los habitantes de Judá y Jerusalén, como anteriormente ocurría.
Y será suave á Jehová la ofrenda de Judá y de Jerusalem, como en los días pasados, y como en los años antiguos.
Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

«Dentro de poco tiempo vendré y los juzgaré. Testificaré prontamente contra los hechiceros, contra los adúlteros, contra los mentirosos, contra los que roban a sus jornaleros, contra los que oprimen a las viudas y a los huérfanos, y contra los que son injustos con los extranjeros, sin tener temor de mí. Lo digo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso.
Y llegarme he á vosotros á juicio; y seré pronto testigo contra los hechiceros y adúlteros; y contra los que juran mentira, y los que detienen el salario del jornalero, de la viuda, y del huérfano, y los que hacen agravio al extranjero, no teniendo temor de mí, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

»Porque yo, el Señor, no cambio. Por esta razón ustedes no han sido completamente destruidos, porque mi misericordia dura para siempre, aunque ustedes sean tan volubles.
Porque yo Jehová, no me mudo; y así vosotros, hijos de Jacob, no habéis sido consumidos.
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
“For I, the LORD, don’t change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
Aunque desde hace mucho tiempo ustedes han despreciado mis instrucciones, aún tienen la oportunidad de dirigirse a mí. ¡Diríjanse a mí y yo los perdonaré! Lo digo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso. Pero ustedes responden: “¡Jamás hemos desobedecido tus instrucciones!”.
Desde los días de vuestros padres os habéis apartado de mis leyes, y no las guardasteis. Tornaos á mí, y yo me tornaré á vosotros, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos. Mas dijisteis: ¿En qué hemos de tornar?
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
From the days of your fathers you have turned away from my ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Armies. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’
»¿Debe una persona robar a Dios? ¡Claro que no! Pero ustedes me han robado. Y aún se atreven a preguntar: “¿Cuándo te hemos robado?”. Ustedes me han robado los diezmos y las ofrendas.
¿Robará el hombre á Dios? Pues vosotros me habéis robado. Y dijisteis: ¿En qué te hemos robado? Los diezmos y las primicias.
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.
Por eso, toda la nación está en la mira de mi castigo, pues todos me están robando.
Malditos sois con maldición, porque vosotros, la nación toda, me habéis robado.
Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
You are cursed with the curse; for you rob me, even this whole nation.
»Traigan todos los diezmos a la tesorería del templo, para que haya alimento suficiente en mi Templo. Si lo hacen, yo abriré las ventanas de los cielos y haré que venga sobre ustedes una benéfica y oportuna lluvia sobre sus campos para que obtengan abundantes cosechas. ¡Los exhorto a que me prueben en esto!
Traed todos los diezmos al alfolí, y haya alimento en mi casa; y probadme ahora en esto, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, si no os abriré las ventanas de los cielos, y vaciaré sobre vosotros bendición hasta que sobreabunde.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Sus cosechas serán grandes, porque yo las cuidaré de los insectos y de las plagas; sus uvas no caerán antes de madurar. Lo digo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso.
Increparé también por vosotros al devorador, y no os corromperá el fruto de la tierra; ni vuestra vid en el campo abortará, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

»Y todas las naciones los llamarán afortunados, porque la suya será una tierra caracterizada por la alegría y la abundancia. Lo digo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso.
Y todas las gentes os dirán bienaventurados; porque seréis tierra deseable, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
“All nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says the LORD of Armies.
»La actitud de Judá hacia mí ha sido orgullosa y arrogante. Lo digo yo, el Señor. Pero ustedes se atreven a preguntar: “¿Qué cosas malas hemos dicho contra ti?”.
Vuestras palabras han prevalecido contra mí, dice Jehová. Y dijisteis: ¿Qué hemos hablado contra ti?
Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?
“Your words have been harsh against me,” says the LORD. “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against you?’
»Óiganme bien; ustedes han dicho: “De nada sirve respetar a Dios y obedecerlo. ¿Qué provecho hay en seguir sus instrucciones, y en entristecernos y arrepentirnos por nuestras malas acciones?
Habéis dicho: Por demás es servir á Dios; ¿y qué aprovecha que guardemos su ley, y que andemos tristes delante de Jehová de los ejércitos?
Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
You have said, ‘It is vain to serve God,’ and ‘What profit is it that we have followed his instructions and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of Armies?
De ahora en adelante, en lo que respecta a nosotros, más bien afirmaremos que los soberbios son dichosos. Porque es evidente que los que hacen el mal son los que prosperan y los que viven sin seguir las instrucciones de Dios salen bien librados de cualquier situación”».
Decimos pues ahora, que bienaventurados los soberbios, y también que los que hacen impiedad son los prosperados: bien que tentaron á Dios, escaparon.
And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

Entonces los que respetaban y amaban al Señor hablaron de él a sus compañeros. Y el Señor anotó en un libro de memorias los nombres de los que honran y respetan su fama.
Entonces los que temen á Jehová hablaron cada uno á su compañero; y Jehová escuchó y oyó, y fué escrito libro de memoria delante de él para los que temen á Jehová, y para los que piensan en su nombre.
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Then those who feared the LORD spoke one with another; and the LORD listened and heard, and a book of memory was written before him for those who feared the LORD and who honored his name.
«Ellos serán para mí como el tesoro más precioso. En el día del juicio los perdonaré, así como el padre perdona al hijo que le respeta y honra.
Y serán para mí especial tesoro, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, en el día que yo tengo de hacer: y perdonarélos como el hombre que perdona á su hijo que le sirve.
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
They shall be mine,” says the LORD of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.
Entonces verán ustedes la diferencia entre el tratamiento que Dios proporciona a los buenos y a los malos, entre los que le respetan y viven de acuerdo a sus instrucciones y los que no lo hacen.
Entonces os tornaréis, y echaréis de ver la diferencia entre el justo y el malo, entre el que sirve á Dios y el que no le sirve.
Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn’t serve him.
