Entonces llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio potestad contra los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera, y sanasen toda enfermedad, y toda dolencia.

Estos doce envió Jesús, a los cuales dio mandamiento, diciendo: Por el camino de los Gentiles no iréis, y en ciudad de Samaritanos no entréis:

And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

Y cualquiera que no os recibiere, ni oyere vuestras palabras, salíd de aquella casa o ciudad, y sacudíd el polvo de vuestros pies.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

De cierto os digo: Que el castigo será más tolerable a la tierra de Sodoma, y de Gomorra en el día del juicio, que a aquella ciudad.

Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

Mas cuando os entregaren, no os congojéis cómo, o qué habéis de hablar; porque en aquella hora os será dado que habléis.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Mas cuando os persiguieren en esta ciudad, huid a la otra; porque de cierto os digo, que no acabaréis de andar todas las ciudades de Israel, que no venga el Hijo del hombre.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

El discípulo no es más que su Maestro, ni el siervo más que su Señor.

Bástele al discípulo ser como su Maestro, y al siervo como su Señor: si al mismo padre de familias llamaron Belzebú, ¿cuánto más a los de su casa?

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

Así que no los temáis; porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser manifestado; y nada oculto que no haya de saberse.

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Lo que os digo en tinieblas, decídlo en luz; y lo que oís al oído, predicádlo desde los tejados.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Y no tengáis miedo de los que matan el cuerpo, mas al alma no pueden matar: teméd antes a aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.

Y no temáis á los que matan el cuerpo, mas al alma no pueden matar: temed antes á aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

¿No se venden dos pajarillos por una blanca? Y uno de ellos no caerá a tierra sin vuestro Padre.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Y los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.

And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

El que ama a padre o a madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; y el que ama a hijo o a hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí.

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Y el que no toma su cruz y sigue en pos de mí, no es digno de mí.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

El que recibe a un profeta en nombre de profeta, galardón de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe a un justo en nombre de justo, galardón de justo recibirá.

El que recibe profeta en nombre de profeta, merced de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe justo en nombre de justo, merced de justo recibirá.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

Y cualquiera que diere a uno de estos pequeñitos un jarro de agua fría solamente, en nombre de discípulo, de cierto os digo, que no perderá su galardón.

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.”
