Entonces llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera, y para sanar toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.

A estos doce envió Jesús, y les dio instrucciones, diciendo: Por camino de gentiles no vayan, y en ciudad de samaritanos no entren,

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Sanen enfermos, limpien leprosos, †TR: resuciten muertos, echen fuera demonios; de gracia recibieron, den de gracia.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

No se provean de oro, ni plata, ni cobre en sus †de ustedes cintos;

No aprestéis oro, ni plata, ni cobre en vuestras bolsas;

Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.

ni de alforja para el camino, ni de dos túnicas, ni de calzado, ni de bordón; porque el obrero es digno de su alimento.

Ni alforja para el camino, ni dos ropas de vestir, ni zapatos, ni bordón; porque el obrero digno es de su alimento.

Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

Mas en cualquier ciudad o aldea donde entren, infórmense quién en ella sea digno, y posen allí hasta que salgan.

Mas en cualquier ciudad, ó aldea donde entrareis, investigad quién sea en ella digno, y reposad allí hasta que salgáis.

And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go on.

Y al entrar en la casa, salúdenla.

Y entrando en la casa, saludadla.

And when ye come into an house, salute it.

As you enter into the household, greet it.

Y si la casa fuere digna, su †de ustedes paz vendrá sobre ella; mas si no fuere digna, su †de ustedes paz se volverá a ustedes.

Y si la casa fuere digna, vuestra paz vendrá sobre ella; mas si no fuere digna, vuestra paz se volverá á vosotros.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.

Y si alguno no les recibiere, ni oyere sus †de ustedes palabras, salgan de aquella casa o ciudad, y sacudan el polvo de sus †de ustedes pies.

Y cualquiera que no os recibiere, ni oyere vuestras palabras, salid de aquella casa ó ciudad, y sacudid el polvo de vuestros pies.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Whoever doesn’t receive you or hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

De cierto les digo que en el día del juicio, será más tolerable el castigo para la tierra de Sodoma y de Gomorra, que para aquella ciudad.

De cierto os digo, que el castigo será más tolerable á la tierra de los de Sodoma y de los de Gomorra en el día del juicio, que á aquella ciudad.

Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

He aquí, yo les envío como a ovejas en medio de lobos; sean, por lo tanto, prudentes como serpientes, y sencillos como palomas.

Y cuídense †guárdense de los hombres, porque les entregarán a los concilios, y en sus sinagogas les azotarán;

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

y aun ante gobernadores y reyes serán llevados por causa de mí, para testimonio a ellos y a los gentiles.

And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

Mas cuando les entreguen, no se preocupen †afanen por cómo o qué hablarán; porque en aquella hora les será dado lo que han de hablar.

Mas cuando os entregaren, no os apuréis por cómo ó qué hablaréis; porque en aquella hora os será dado qué habéis de hablar.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

Porque no son ustedes los que hablan, sino el Espíritu de su †de ustedes Padre que habla en ustedes.

Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu de vuestro Padre que habla en vosotros.

For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

El hermano entregará a la muerte al hermano, y el padre al hijo; y los hijos se levantarán contra los padres, y los harán morir.

Y el hermano entregará al hermano á la muerte, y el padre al hijo; y los hijos se levantarán contra los padres, y los harán morir.

And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

Y serán aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre; mas el que persevere hasta el fin, éste será salvado.

Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por mi nombre; mas el que soportare hasta el fin, éste será salvo.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

Cuando les persigan en esta ciudad, huyan a la otra; porque de cierto les digo, que no acabarán de recorrer todas las ciudades de Israel, antes que venga el Hijo del Hombre.

Mas cuando os persiguieren en esta ciudad, huid á la otra: porque de cierto os digo, que no acabaréis de andar todas las ciudades de Israel, que no venga el Hijo del hombre.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

El discípulo no es más que su maestro, ni el esclavo más que su señor.

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

Bástale al discípulo ser como su maestro, y al esclavo como su señor. Si al padre de familia llamaron Beelzebú, ¿cuánto más a los de su casa?

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

Así que, no los teman; porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser manifestado; ni oculto, que no haya de saberse.

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

Lo que les digo en tinieblas, díganlo en la luz; y lo que oyen al oído, proclámenlo desde las azoteas.

Lo que os digo en tinieblas, decidlo en la luz; y lo que oís al oído predicadlo desde los terrados.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

Y no teman a los que matan el cuerpo, mas el alma no pueden matar; teman más bien a aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.

Y no temáis á los que matan el cuerpo, mas al alma no pueden matar: temed antes á aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

¿No se venden dos pajarillos por un cuarto? Con todo, ni uno de ellos cae a tierra sin su †de ustedes Padre.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

“Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

Puesto que aun sus †de ustedes cabellos están todos contados.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Así que, no teman; más valen ustedes que muchos pajarillos.

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

A cualquiera, por lo tanto, que me confiese en presencia †delante de los hombres, yo también le confesaré en presencia †delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

Cualquiera pues, que me confesare delante de los hombres, le confesaré yo también delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.

Y a cualquiera que me niegue en presencia †delante de los hombres, yo también le negaré en presencia †delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

Y cualquiera que me negare delante de los hombres, le negaré yo también delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.

No piensen que he venido para traer paz a la tierra; no he venido para traer paz, sino espada.

No penséis que he venido para meter paz en la tierra: no he venido para meter paz, sino espada.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

“Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.

Porque he venido para poner en disensión al hombre contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre, y a la nuera contra su suegra;

Porque he venido para hacer disensión del hombre contra su padre, y de la hija contra su madre, y de la nuera contra su suegra.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

y los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.

Y los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.

And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

A man’s foes will be those of his own household.

El que quiere †tiene cariño y afecto fraternal a padre o madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; el que que quiere †tiene cariño y afecto fraternal a hijo o hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí;

El que ama padre ó madre más que á mí, no es digno de mí; y el que ama hijo ó hija más que á mí, no es digno de mí.

He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

y el que no toma su cruz y sigue detrás †en pos de mí, no es digno de mí.

Y el que no toma su cruz, y sigue en pos de mí, no es digno de mí.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.

El que halla su vida, la perderá; y el que pierde su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.

El que hallare su vida, la perderá; y el que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

El que a ustedes recibe, a mí me recibe; y el que me recibe a mí, recibe al que me envió.

El que os recibe á vosotros, á mí recibe; y el que á mí recibe, recibe al que me envió.

He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

“He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

El que recibe a un profeta por cuanto es profeta, recompensa de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe a un justo por cuanto es justo, recompensa de justo recibirá.

El que recibe profeta en nombre de profeta, merced de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe justo en nombre de justo, merced de justo recibirá.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

Y cualquiera que dé a uno de estos pequeñitos un vaso de agua fría solamente, por cuanto es discípulo, de cierto les digo que no perderá su recompensa.

Y cualquiera que diere á uno de estos pequeñitos un vaso de agua fría solamente, en nombre de discípulo, de cierto os digo, que no perderá su recompensa.

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.”
