Mateo 11

Et il arriva, quand Jésus eut achevé de donner ses ordres à ses douze disciples, qu’il partit de là pour enseigner et prêcher dans leurs villes.

Y FUÉ, que acabando Jesús de dar mandamientos á sus doce discípulos, se fué de allí á enseñar y á predicar en las ciudades de ellos.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

When Jesus had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Et Jean, ayant entendu parler dans la prison des œuvres du Christ, envoya par ses disciples,

Y oyendo Juan en la prisión los hechos de Cristo, le envió dos de sus discípulos,

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

et lui dit : Es-tu celui qui vient, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre ?

Diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”

Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit : Allez, et rapportez à Jean les choses que vous entendez et que vous voyez :

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, y haced saber á Juan las cosas que oís y veis:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:

les aveugles recouvrent la vue et les boiteux marchent ; les lépreux sont rendus nets et les sourds entendent, et les morts sont ressuscités, et l’évangile est annoncé aux pauvres.

Los ciegos ven, y los cojos andan; los leprosos son limpiados, y los sordos oyen; los muertos son resucitados, y á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Et bienheureux est quiconque n’aura pas été scandalisé en moi.

Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.

Et comme ils s’en allaient, Jésus se mit à dire de Jean aux foules : Qu’êtes-vous allés voir au désert ? Un roseau agité par le vent ?

E idos ellos, comenzó Jesús á decir de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es meneada del viento?

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Mais qu’êtes-vous allés voir ? Un homme vêtu de vêtements précieux ? Voici, ceux qui portent des choses précieuses sont dans les maisons des rois.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de delicados vestidos? He aquí, los que traen vestidos delicados, en las casas de los reyes están.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

Mais qu’êtes-vous allés voir ? Un prophète ? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu’un prophète ;

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y más que profeta.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

car c’est ici celui dont il est écrit : « Voici, moi j’envoie mon messager devant ta face, lequel préparera ton chemin devant toi ».

Porque éste es de quien está escrito: He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que aparejará tu camino delante de ti.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

En vérité, je vous dis : parmi ceux qui sont nés de femme, il n’en a été suscité aucun de plus grand que Jean le baptiseur ; mais le moindre dans le royaume des cieux est plus grand que lui.

De cierto os digo, que no se levantó entre los que nacen de mujeres otro mayor que Juan el Bautista; mas el que es muy más pequeño en el reino de los cielos, mayor es que él.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

Mais, depuis les jours de Jean le baptiseur jusqu’à maintenant, le royaume des cieux est pris par violence, et les violents le ravissent.

Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, al reino de los cielos se hace fuerza, y los valientes lo arrebatan.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Car tous les prophètes et la loi ont prophétisé jusqu’à Jean.

Porque todos los profetas y la ley hasta Juan profetizaron.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Et si vous voulez recevoir †ce que je vous dis, celui-ci est Élie qui doit venir.

Y si queréis recibir, él es aquel Elías que había de venir.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

Qui a des oreilles pour entendre, qu’il entende.

El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Mais à qui comparerai-je cette génération ? Elle est semblable à de petits enfants assis dans les marchés, et criant à leurs compagnons,

Mas ¿á quién compararé esta generación? Es semejante á los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, y dan voces á sus compañeros,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions

et disant : Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n’avez pas dansé ; nous vous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous ne vous êtes pas lamentés.

Y dicen: Os tañimos flauta, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no lamentasteis.

And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

Car Jean est venu ne mangeant ni ne buvant, et ils disent : Il a un démon.

Porque vino Juan, que ni comía ni bebía, y dicen: Demonio tiene.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

Le fils de l’homme est venu mangeant et buvant, et ils disent : Voici un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des publicains et des pécheurs. Et la sagesse a été justifiée par ses enfants.

Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Mas la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Alors il commença à adresser des reproches aux villes dans lesquelles le plus grand nombre de ses miracles avaient été faits, parce qu’elles ne s’étaient pas repenties :

Entonces comenzó á reconvenir á las ciudades en las cuales habían sido hechas muy muchas de sus maravillas, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Malheur à toi, Chorazin ! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda ! car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu’elles se seraient repenties sous le sac et la cendre.

¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! porque si en Tiro y en Sidón fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en vosotras, en otro tiempo se hubieran arrepentido en saco y en ceniza.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Mais je vous dis que le sort de Tyr et de Sidon sera plus supportable au jour de jugement que le vôtre.

Por tanto os digo, que á Tiro y á Sidón será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á vosotras.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

Et toi, Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusqu’au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusque dans le hadès ; car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi avaient été faits dans Sodome, elle serait demeurée jusqu’à aujourd’hui.

Y tú, Capernaum, que eres levantada hasta el cielo, hasta los infiernos serás abajada; porque si en los de Sodoma fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en ti, hubieran quedado hasta el día de hoy.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

Mais je vous dis que le sort du pays de Sodome sera plus supportable au jour de jugement que le tien.

Por tanto os digo, que á la tierra de los de Sodoma será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á ti.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”

En ce temps-là, Jésus répondit et dit : Je te loue, ô Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, parce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et que tu les as révélées aux petits enfants.

En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que hayas escondido estas cosas de los sabios y de los entendidos, y las hayas revelado á los niños.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

Oui, Père, car c’est ce que tu as trouvé bon devant toi.

Así, Padre, pues que así agradó en tus ojos.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.

Toutes choses m’ont été livrées par mon Père ; et personne ne connaît le Fils, si ce n’est le Père ; ni personne ne connaît le Père, si ce n’est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils voudra le révéler.

Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

Venez à moi, vous tous qui vous fatiguez et qui êtes chargés, et moi, je vous donnerai du repos.

Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

Prenez mon joug sur vous, et apprenez de moi, car je suis débonnaire et humble de cœur ; et vous trouverez le repos de vos âmes.

Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

Car mon joug est aisé et mon fardeau est léger.

Porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
