Lorsque Jésus eut achevé de donner ses instructions à ses douze disciples, il partit de là, pour enseigner et prêcher dans les villes du pays.
Y FUÉ, que acabando Jesús de dar mandamientos á sus doce discípulos, se fué de allí á enseñar y á predicar en las ciudades de ellos.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre?
Diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

Jésus leur répondit: Allez rapporter à Jean ce que vous entendez et ce que vous voyez:
Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, y haced saber á Juan las cosas que oís y veis:
Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

les aveugles voient, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, et la bonne nouvelle est annoncée aux pauvres.
Los ciegos ven, y los cojos andan; los leprosos son limpiados, y los sordos oyen; los muertos son resucitados, y á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Comme ils s’en allaient, Jésus se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean: Qu’êtes-vous allés voir au désert? Un roseau agité par le vent?
E idos ellos, comenzó Jesús á decir de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es meneada del viento?
And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
Mais, qu’êtes-vous allés voir? Un homme vêtu d’habits précieux? Voici, ceux qui portent des habits précieux sont dans les maisons des rois.
Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de delicados vestidos? He aquí, los que traen vestidos delicados, en las casas de los reyes están.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.
Qu’êtes-vous donc allés voir? Un prophète? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu’un prophète.
Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y más que profeta.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
Car c’est celui dont il est écrit: Voici, j’envoie mon messager devant ta face, Pour préparer ton chemin devant toi.
Porque éste es de quien está escrito: He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que aparejará tu camino delante de ti.
For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
Je vous le dis en vérité, parmi ceux qui sont nés de femmes, il n’en a point paru de plus grand que Jean-Baptiste. Cependant, le plus petit dans le royaume des cieux est plus grand que lui.
De cierto os digo, que no se levantó entre los que nacen de mujeres otro mayor que Juan el Bautista; mas el que es muy más pequeño en el reino de los cielos, mayor es que él.
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
Depuis le temps de Jean-Baptiste jusqu’à présent, le royaume des cieux est forcé, et ce sont les violents qui s’en emparent.
Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, al reino de los cielos se hace fuerza, y los valientes lo arrebatan.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Car tous les prophètes et la loi ont prophétisé jusqu’à Jean;

et, si vous voulez le comprendre, c’est lui qui est l’Élie qui devait venir.

Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende.
El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.

A qui comparerai-je cette génération?Elle ressemble à des enfants assis dans des places publiques, et qui, s’adressant à d’autres enfants,
Mas ¿á quién compararé esta generación? Es semejante á los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, y dan voces á sus compañeros,
But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
disent: Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n’avez pas dansé; nous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous ne vous êtes pas lamentés.
Y dicen: Os tañimos flauta, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no lamentasteis.
And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
Car Jean est venu, ne mangeant ni ne buvant, et ils disent: Il a un démon.
Porque vino Juan, que ni comía ni bebía, y dicen: Demonio tiene.
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

Le Fils de l’homme est venu, mangeant et buvant, et ils disent: C’est un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des publicains et des gens de mauvaise vie. Mais la sagesse a été justifiée par ses œuvres.
Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Mas la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

Alors il se mit à faire des reproches aux villes dans lesquelles avaient eu lieu la plupart de ses miracles, parce qu’elles ne s’étaient pas repenties.
Entonces comenzó á reconvenir á las ciudades en las cuales habían sido hechas muy muchas de sus maravillas, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:
Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
Malheur à toi, Chorazin! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïda! Car, si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu’elles se seraient repenties, en prenantle sac et la cendre.
¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! porque si en Tiro y en Sidón fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en vosotras, en otro tiempo se hubieran arrepentido en saco y en ceniza.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
C’est pourquoi je vous le dis: au jour du jugement, Tyr et Sidon seront traitées moins rigoureusement que vous.
Por tanto os digo, que á Tiro y á Sidón será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á vosotras.
But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
Et toi, Capernaüm, seras-tu élevée jusqu’au ciel? Non. Tu seras abaissée jusqu’au séjour des morts; car, si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi avaient été faits dans Sodome, elle subsisterait encore aujourd’hui.
Y tú, Capernaum, que eres levantada hasta el cielo, hasta los infiernos serás abajada; porque si en los de Sodoma fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en ti, hubieran quedado hasta el día de hoy.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.
C’est pourquoi je vous le dis:au jour du jugement, le pays de Sodome sera traité moins rigoureusement que toi.
Por tanto os digo, que á la tierra de los de Sodoma será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á ti.
But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”
En ce temps-là, Jésus prit la parole, et dit: Je te loue, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre,de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de ce que tu les as révélées aux enfants.
En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que hayas escondido estas cosas de los sabios y de los entendidos, y las hayas revelado á los niños.
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
Oui, Père, je te loue de ce que tu l’as voulu ainsi.
Así, Padre, pues que así agradó en tus ojos.
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
Toutes choses m’ont été données par mon Père, etpersonne ne connaît le Fils, si ce n’est le Père; personne non plus ne connaît le Père, si ce n’est le Fils et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.
Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et je vous donnerai du repos.
Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
Prenez mon joug sur vous et recevez mes instructions, car je suisdoux et humble de cœur;et vous trouverez du repos pour vos âmes.
Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
Car mon joug est doux, et mon fardeau léger.
Porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
