Und es geschah, da Jesus Seine Verordnungen an Seine zwölf Jünger vollendet hatte, ging Er von dannen weiter, um in ihren Städten zu lehren und zu predigen.

Y FUÉ, que acabando Jesús de dar mandamientos á sus doce discípulos, se fué de allí á enseñar y á predicar en las ciudades de ellos.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

Da aber Johannes im Kerker Christi Werke hörte, schickte er zwei seiner Jünger,

Y oyendo Juan en la prisión los hechos de Cristo, le envió dos de sus discípulos,

Und ließ Ihm sagen: Bist Du, Der da kommen soll, oder sollen wir einen andern erwarten?

Diciendo: ¿Eres tú aquél que había de venir, ó esperaremos á otro?

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

and said to him, “Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?”

Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ziehet hin und saget dem Johannes an, was ihr hört und seht.

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Id, y haced saber á Juan las cosas que oís y veis:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:

Blinde sehen und Lahme wandeln, Aussätzige werden rein und Taube hören, Tote werden auferweckt und den Armen wird das Evangelium gepredigt.

Los ciegos ven, y los cojos andan; los leprosos son limpiados, y los sordos oyen; los muertos son resucitados, y á los pobres es anunciado el evangelio.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Und selig ist, wer sich nicht an Mir ärgert.

Y bienaventurado es el que no fuere escandalizado en mí.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

Als diese aber hingingen, fing Jesus an zu dem Gedränge von Johannes zu sprechen: Was seid ihr hinausgegangen in die Wüste anzusehen? ein Rohr, das vom Winde hin und her geweht wird?

E idos ellos, comenzó Jesús á decir de Juan á las gentes: ¿Qué salisteis á ver al desierto? ¿una caña que es meneada del viento?

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

As these went their way, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Oder was seid ihr ausgegangen zu sehen? einen Menschen mit weichen Kleidern umkleidet? Siehe, die da weiche tragen, sind in der Könige Häuser.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un hombre cubierto de delicados vestidos? He aquí, los que traen vestidos delicados, en las casas de los reyes están.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

Aber was seid ihr ausgegangen zu sehen? einen Propheten? Ja, Ich sage euch: Und einen, der weit mehr ist denn ein Prophet.

Mas ¿qué salisteis á ver? ¿un profeta? También os digo, y más que profeta.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

Denn dieser ist es, von dem geschrieben ist: Siehe, Ich sende Meinen Boten aus vor Deinem Angesicht, der den Weg vor Dir zurüsten soll.

Porque éste es de quien está escrito: He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, que aparejará tu camino delante de ti.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

For this is he, of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

Wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Es ist unter denen, die von Weibern geboren sind, kein Größerer erweckt worden, denn Johannes der Täufer; aber wer im Reiche der Himmel kleiner ist, ist größer denn er.

De cierto os digo, que no se levantó entre los que nacen de mujeres otro mayor que Juan el Bautista; mas el que es muy más pequeño en el reino de los cielos, mayor es que él.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

Aber von den Tagen Johannes des Täufers bis hierher leidet das Reich der Himmel Gewalt, und die Gewalttätigen erhaschen es.

Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, al reino de los cielos se hace fuerza, y los valientes lo arrebatan.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Denn alle Propheten und das Gesetz bis auf Johannes haben geweissagt.

Porque todos los profetas y la ley hasta Juan profetizaron.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

Und, so ihr es aufnehmen wollt: er ist Elias, der da kommen soll.

Y si queréis recibir, él es aquel Elías que había de venir.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre.

El que tiene oídos para oir, oiga.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Wem aber soll Ich dieses Geschlecht vergleichen? Es ist den Kindern ähnlich, die im Markte sitzen und ihren Gesellen zurufen,

Mas ¿á quién compararé esta generación? Es semejante á los muchachos que se sientan en las plazas, y dan voces á sus compañeros,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions

Und sagen: Wir haben euch gepfiffen, und ihr habt nicht getanzt. Wir haben euch geklagt, und ihr habt nicht gejammert.

Y dicen: Os tañimos flauta, y no bailasteis; os endechamos, y no lamentasteis.

And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

Denn Johannes kam, aß nicht und trank nicht; und sie sagen: Er hat einen Dämon.

Porque vino Juan, que ni comía ni bebía, y dicen: Demonio tiene.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

Des Menschen Sohn kam, Er aß und trank; und sie sagen: Siehe, der Mensch ist ein Fresser und Weintrinker, der Zöllner und Sünder Freund - und gerechtfertigt wurde die Weisheit von ihren Kindern.

Vino el Hijo del hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Mas la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Alsdann fing Er an, die Städte zu schelten, in denen die meisten Seiner Wunderkräfte geschahen, daß sie nicht Buße getan:

Entonces comenzó á reconvenir á las ciudades en las cuales habían sido hechas muy muchas de sus maravillas, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Wehe dir, Chorazin, wehe dir, Bethsaida. Wären die Wunderkräfte, die in euch geschahen, in Tyrus und Sidon geschehen, sie hätten längst in Sack und Asche Buße getan.

¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! porque si en Tiro y en Sidón fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en vosotras, en otro tiempo se hubieran arrepentido en saco y en ceniza.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Aber Ich sage euch: Es wird Tyrus und Sidon erträglicher sein am Tage des Gerichts, denn euch.

Por tanto os digo, que á Tiro y á Sidón será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á vosotras.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

Und du, Kapernaum, die du bis an den Himmel erhöht bist, du wirst bis in die Hölle hinabgestoßen werden, denn so geschehen wären in Sodom die Wunderkräfte, die in dir geschahen, wäre dasselbe wohl noch bis auf diesen Tag geblieben.

Y tú, Capernaum, que eres levantada hasta el cielo, hasta los infiernos serás abajada; porque si en los de Sodoma fueran hechas las maravillas que han sido hechas en ti, hubieran quedado hasta el día de hoy.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

Aber Ich sage euch: Es wird dem Lande der Sodomer am Tage des Gerichts erträglicher sein, als dir.

Por tanto os digo, que á la tierra de los de Sodoma será más tolerable el castigo en el día del juicio, que á ti.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”

Zur selben Zeit antwortete Jesus und sprach: Ich bekenne Dich, Vater, Herr des Himmels und der Erde, daß Du dies vor den Weisen und Verständigen verborgen und den Unmündigen geoffenbart hast;

En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que hayas escondido estas cosas de los sabios y de los entendidos, y las hayas revelado á los niños.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.

Ja, Vater, daß also geschah, war wohlgefällig vor Dir.

Así, Padre, pues que así agradó en tus ojos.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.

Alles ist Mir von Meinem Vater überantwortet; und niemand kennt den Sohn, denn nur der Vater, noch kennt jemand den Vater, denn nur der Sohn, und wem der Sohn willens ist, es zu offenbaren.

Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie conoció al Hijo, sino el Padre; ni al Padre conoció alguno, sino el Hijo, y aquel á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

Kommet her zu Mir alle, die ihr mühselig und beladen seid, und Ich will euch Ruhe schaffen.

Venid á mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, que yo os haré descansar.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

Nehmet auf euch Mein Joch und lernet von Mir; denn Ich bin sanftmütig und von Herzen demütig, und ihr werdet Ruhe finden für eure Seelen.

Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

Denn Mein Joch ist sanft und Meine Last ist leicht.

Porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
