En aquellos días, Jesús y sus discípulos salieron a caminar por los sembrados. Era el día de reposo. Cuando los discípulos sintieron hambre, se pusieron a arrancar espigas de trigo y a comérselas.
EN aquel tiempo iba Jesús por los sembrados en sábado; y sus discípulos tenían hambre, y comenzaron á coger espigas, y á comer.
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

Algunos fariseos que los vieron protestaron inmediatamente: ―¡Tus discípulos están quebrantando la ley! ¡Están recogiendo granos en el día de reposo!
Y viéndolo los Fariseos, le dijeron: He aquí tus discípulos hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en sábado.
But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”
Pero Jesús les dijo: ―¿No han leído lo que el rey David hizo cuando él y los que lo acompañaban tuvieron hambre?
Y él les dijo: ¿No habéis leído qué hizo David, teniendo él hambre y los que con él estaban:
But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:
Pues entraron al templo y se comieron los panes de la proposición, panes sagrados que sólo los sacerdotes podían comer.
Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y comió los panes de la proposición, que no le era lícito comer, ni á los que estaban con él, sino á solos los sacerdotes?
How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
how he entered into God’s house and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
»¿No han leído en la ley de Moisés cómo los sacerdotes que sirven en el templo tienen que trabajar el día de reposo y no por ello cometen pecado?
O ¿no habéis leído en la ley, que los sábados en el templo los sacerdotes profanan el sábado, y son sin culpa?
Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?
»Pues les digo que el que ahora está aquí es mayor que el templo.
Pues os digo que uno mayor que el templo está aquí.
But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
Y si comprendieran lo que quieren decir las Escrituras con “Misericordia quiero, no sacrificio”, no condenarían a quienes no son culpables.
Mas si supieseis qué es: Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio, no condenaríais á los inocentes:
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.
Porque yo, el Hijo del hombre, soy Señor del día de reposo».
Porque Señor es del sábado el Hijo del hombre.
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
De allí se fue a la sinagoga del pueblo.
Y partiéndose de allí, vino á la sinagoga de ellos.
And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
He departed from there and went into their synagogue.
Como había allí un hombre con una mano paralizada, los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús: ―¿Es legal sanar en el día de reposo? Los fariseos buscaban una razón para acusarlo.
Y he aquí había allí uno que tenía una mano seca: y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en sábado? por acusarle.
And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” so that they might accuse him.
Jesús les respondió: ―Si en el día de reposo a alguno de ustedes se le cae una oveja en un pozo, ¿la sacará? ¡Por supuesto que sí!
Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si cayere ésta en una fosa en sábado, no le eche mano, y la levante?
And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out?
Bueno, díganme, ¿no vale mucho más una persona que una oveja? Por lo tanto, no hay nada malo en que uno haga el bien en el día de reposo.
Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que, lícito es en los sábados hacer bien.
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”
Entonces le dijo al hombre: ―Extiende la mano. Y al extenderla le quedó tan normal como la otra.
Entonces dijo á aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y fué restituída sana como la otra.
Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.
Cuando los fariseos salieron de la sinagoga, se reunieron para planear cómo matarían a Jesús.
Y salidos los Fariseos, consultaron contra él para destruirle.
Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
Pero Jesús, que lo sabía, se alejó de allí seguido por mucha gente. Y él sanaba a todos los enfermos,
Mas sabiéndolo Jesús, se apartó de allí: y le siguieron muchas gentes, y sanaba á todos.
But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,
pero les encargaba rigurosamente que no se lo contaran a nadie.
Y él les encargaba eficazmente que no le descubriesen:
And charged them that they should not make him known:
and commanded them that they should not make him known,
Con esto se cumplió la profecía de Isaías que anunció:
Para que se cumpliese lo que estaba dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
«Aquí tienen a mi siervo, mi escogido, mi amado, en quien mi alma se deleita. Pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y anunciará justicia a las naciones.
He aquí mi siervo, al cual he escogido; mi Amado, en el cual se agrada mi alma: pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y á los Gentiles anunciará juicio.
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.
No protestará, ni gritará, ni alzará su voz en las calles;
No contenderá, ni voceará: ni nadie oirá en las calles su voz.
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
He will not strive, nor shout, neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
no romperá la caña que ya está quebrada, ni acabará de apagar el pabilo humeante, hasta que haga triunfar la justicia.
La caña cascada no quebrará, y el pábilo que humea no apagará, hasta que saque á victoria el juicio.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.
Y las naciones pondrán en él sus esperanzas».
Y en su nombre esperarán los Gentiles.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
In his name, the nations will hope.”
Entonces le presentaron a un endemoniado, ciego y mudo. Jesús lo sanó y el hombre pudo ver y hablar.
Entonces fué traído á él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo, y le sanó; de tal manera, que el ciego y mudo hablaba y veía.
Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
La gente estaba maravillada. «¡Quizás Jesús es el Hijo de David!» —exclamaban.
Y todas las gentes estaban atónitas, y decían: ¿Será éste aquel Hijo de David?
And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”
Al oír tales exclamaciones, los fariseos dijeron: «Al contrario, este hombre expulsa demonios en el nombre de Beelzebú, príncipe de los demonios».
Mas los Fariseos, oyéndolo, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios, sino por Beelzebub, príncipe de los demonios.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Jesús, que sabía lo que estaban pensando, les dijo: «Un reino dividido acaba por destruirse. Una ciudad o una familia divididas no pueden durar.
Y Jesús, como sabía los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es desolado; y toda ciudad ó casa dividida contra sí misma, no permanecerá.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, pelea consigo mismo y acabará destruyendo su propio reino.
Y si Satanás echa fuera á Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido; ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?
And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Y si, como dicen, yo echo fuera demonios invocando el poder de Beelzebú, ¿invocando qué poder los echan fuera los seguidores de ustedes? Por tanto, ellos serán quienes los juzguen a ustedes.
Y si yo por Beelzebub echo fuera los demonios, ¿vuestros hijos por quién los echan? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Ahora bien, si yo echo fuera los demonios por el poder del Espíritu de Dios, el reino de Dios ha llegado a ustedes.
Y si por espíritu de Dios yo echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.
»¿Cómo podrá alguien entrar en la casa de un hombre fuerte y robarle sus bienes, si primero no lo ata? Sólo así podrá robarle.
Porque, ¿cómo puede alguno entrar en la casa del valiente, y saquear sus alhajas, si primero no prendiere al valiente? y entonces saqueará su casa.
Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
»El que no está a mi favor, está en contra de mí. Y el que no recoge conmigo, desparrama.
El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no recoge, derrama.
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
“He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.
Cualquier blasfemia o cualquier otro pecado le será perdonado a la gente; pero el que ofenda al Espíritu Santo no tendrá perdón.
Por tanto os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia será perdonado á los hombres: mas la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no será perdonada á los hombres.
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
Cualquiera que hable mal del Hijo del hombre, será perdonado; pero el que hable mal contra el Espíritu Santo no será perdonado ni en este mundo ni en el venidero.
Y cualquiera que hablare contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado: mas cualquiera que hablare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado, ni en este siglo, ni en el venidero.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come.
»Uno conoce un árbol por sus frutos. Cultiven un árbol bueno y su fruto será bueno o cultiven un árbol malo y su fruto será malo.
O haced el árbol bueno, y su fruto bueno, ó haced el árbol corrompido, y su fruto dañado; porque por el fruto es conocido el árbol.
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
¡Crías de víboras! ¿Cómo van a hablar de lo bueno si son malos? ¡La boca expresa lo que hay en el corazón!
Generación de víboras, ¿cómo podéis hablar bien, siendo malos? porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
El habla de un hombre bueno revela la bondad de su corazón. El corazón del malo está lleno de maldad, y esta se refleja en sus palabras.
El hombre bueno del buen tesoro del corazón saca buenas cosas: y el hombre malo del mal tesoro saca malas cosas.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.
Les aseguro que en el día del juicio van a dar cuenta de las cosas que digan descuidadamente.
Mas yo os digo, que toda palabra ociosa que hablaren los hombres, de ella darán cuenta en el día del juicio.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Lo que una persona diga ahora determina lo que le espera: o será justificada por sus palabras ¡o por ellas será condenada!».
Porque por tus palabras serás justificado, y por tus palabras serás condenado.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Algunos maestros de la ley y fariseos se acercaron a Jesús para pedirle que realizara alguna señal milagrosa.
Entonces respondieron algunos de los escribas y de los Fariseos, diciendo: Maestro, deseamos ver de ti señal.
Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
Pero Jesús les respondió: «Esta nación perversa e infiel pide una señal milagrosa; pero no se le dará ninguna más, excepto la señal del profeta Jonás.
Y él respondió, y les dijo: La generación mala y adulterina demanda señal; mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás profeta.
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Porque de la misma manera que Jonás estuvo en las entrañas de un gran pez tres días y tres noches, yo, el Hijo del hombre, pasaré tres días y tres noches en las entrañas de la tierra.
Porque como estuvo Jonás en el vientre de la ballena tres días y tres noches, así estará el Hijo del hombre en el corazón de la tierra tres días y tres noches.
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
En el día del juicio, los hombres de Nínive se levantarán y condenarán a esta gente. Porque cuando Jonás les predicó, aquellos se arrepintieron de sus pecados. Y ustedes tienen aquí a uno que es superior a Jonás.
Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en el juicio con esta generación, y la condenarán; porque ellos se arrepintieron á la predicación de Jonás; y he aquí más que Jonás en este lugar.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
»En el día del juicio, la reina del Sur se levantará contra esta nación y la condenará, porque vino desde los confines de la tierra a escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón. Y ustedes tienen aquí a uno que es superior a Salomón.
La reina del Austro se levantará en el juicio con esta generación, y la condenará; porque vino de los fines de la tierra para oir la sabiduría de Salomón: y he aquí más que Salomón en este lugar.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.
»Cuando un espíritu malo sale de una persona, se va a lugares solitarios en busca de reposo. Al no hallarlo,
Cuando el espíritu inmundo ha salido del hombre, anda por lugares secos, buscando reposo, y no lo halla.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
“When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.
el espíritu se dice: “Es mejor que regrese a la casa de donde salí”. Al regresar, la encuentra desocupada, barrida y arreglada.
Entonces dice: Me volveré á mi casa de donde salí: y cuando viene, la halla desocupada, barrida y adornada.
Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Entonces el espíritu va y busca siete espíritus peores que él y juntos habitan en aquella casa. ¡Y resultó que lo último fue peor que lo primero! Así le sucederá a esta nación perversa».
Entonces va, y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrados, moran allí; y son peores las cosas últimas del tal hombre que las primeras: así también acontecerá á esta generación mala.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”
Mientras Jesús hablaba a la gente, su madre y sus hermanos, que deseaban hablar con él, se tuvieron que quedar fuera.
Y estando él aún hablando á las gentes, he aquí su madre y sus hermanos estaban fuera, que le querían hablar.
While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
Cuando alguien le avisó a Jesús que su familia estaba fuera y quería hablarle,
Y le dijo uno: He aquí tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, que te quieren hablar.
Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
él preguntó: ―¿Quién es mi madre?, ¿quiénes son mis hermanos?
Y respondiendo él al que le decía esto, dijo: ¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?
But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
Y señalando a sus discípulos, dijo: ―Aquí tienen a mi madre y a mis hermanos.
Y extendiendo su mano hacia sus discípulos, dijo: He aquí mi madre y mis hermanos.
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
He stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
¡El que obedece a mi Padre que está en los cielos, ese es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre!
Porque todo aquel que hiciere la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos, ese es mi hermano, y hermana, y madre.
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
