Por aquel tiempo, pasando Jesús en día sábado junto a unos sembrados, sus discípulos, teniendo hambre, empezaron a coger espigas y comer los granos.

Pero él les respondió: ¿No habéis leído qué hizo David cuando él y los que le acompañaban se vieron acosados del hambre?

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

¿Cómo entró en la casa de Dios y comió los panes de la proposición, que no era lícito comer ni a él ni a los suyos, sino a los sacerdotes?

How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

¿O no habéis leído en la ley cómo los sacerdotes en el templo trabajan el sábado, y con todo eso no pecan?

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Pues yo os digo que aquí está uno que es mayor que el templo.

But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

Que si vosotros supieseis bien lo que significa: Más quiero la misericordia que el sacrificio, jamás hubierais condenado a los inocentes.
Mas si supieseis qué es: Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio, no condenaríais á los inocentes:
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.
Porque el Hijo del hombre es dueño aun del sábado.
Porque Señor es del sábado el Hijo del hombre.
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Habiendo partido de allí, entró en la sinagoga de ellos.

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

donde se hallaba un hombre que tenía seca una mano; y preguntaron a Jesús , para hallar motivo de acusarle, si era lícito curar en día de sábado.
Y he aquí había allí uno que tenía una mano seca: y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en sábado? por acusarle.
And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” so that they might accuse him.
Mas él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá entre vosotros que tenga una oveja, si ésta cae en una fosa en día sábado, no la levante y saque fuera?
Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si cayere ésta en una fosa en sábado, no le eche mano, y la levante?
And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out?
¿Pues cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Luego es lícito hacer el bien en día de sábado.
Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que, lícito es en los sábados hacer bien.
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.”
Entonces dijo al hombre: Extiende esa mano. La estiró, y quedó tan sana como la otra.

Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Mas los fariseos saliendo se juntaron para urdir tramas contra él y perderle.

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

Ved ahí el siervo mío, a quien yo tengo elegido, el amado mío, en quien mi alma se ha complacido plenamente. Pondré sobre él mi espíritu y anunciará la justicia a las naciones.

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.
No contenderá con nadie, no voceará, ni oirá ninguno su voz o gritar en las plazas;
No contenderá, ni voceará: ni nadie oirá en las calles su voz.
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
He will not strive, nor shout, neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
no quebrará la caña cascada, ni acabará de apagar la mecha que aún humea, hasta que haga triunfar la justicia de su causa;
La caña cascada no quebrará, y el pábilo que humea no apagará, hasta que saque á victoria el juicio.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.
y en su nombre pondrán las naciones su esperanza.
Y en su nombre esperarán los Gentiles.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
In his name, the nations will hope.”
Le fue a la sazón traído un endemoniado, ciego y mudo, y lo curó, de modo que desde luego comenzó a hablar y ver.
Entonces fué traído á él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo, y le sanó; de tal manera, que el ciego y mudo hablaba y veía.
Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
Con lo que todo el pueblo quedó asombrado, y decía: ¿Es éste tal vez el Hijo de David, el Mesías?
Y todas las gentes estaban atónitas, y decían: ¿Será éste aquel Hijo de David?
And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?”
Pero los fariseos, oyéndolo, decían: Este no lanza los demonios sino por obra de Beelzebub, príncipe de los demonios.
Mas los Fariseos, oyéndolo, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios, sino por Beelzebub, príncipe de los demonios.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Entonces Jesús , penetrando sus pensamientos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido en facciones contrarias será desolado; y cualquier ciudad o casa dividida en bandos no subsistirá.
Y Jesús, como sabía los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es desolado; y toda ciudad ó casa dividida contra sí misma, no permanecerá.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Y si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, es contrario a sí mismo; ¿cómo, pues, ha de subsistir su reino?
Y si Satanás echa fuera á Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido; ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?
And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Que si yo lanzo los demonios en nombre de Beelzebub, o vuestros hijos en qué nombre los echan? Por tanto, esos mismos serán vuestros jueces.
Y si yo por Beelzebub echo fuera los demonios, ¿vuestros hijos por quién los echan? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Mas si yo echo los demonios en virtud del espíritu de Dios, se sigue por cierto que ya el reino de Dios, o el Mesías, ha llegado a vosotros.
Y si por espíritu de Dios yo echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.
O si no, decidme: ¿Cómo es posible que uno entre en casa de algún hombre valiente y le robe sus bienes, si primero no ata bien al valiente? Entonces podrá saquearle la casa.
Porque, ¿cómo puede alguno entrar en la casa del valiente, y saquear sus alhajas, si primero no prendiere al valiente? y entonces saqueará su casa.
Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
El que no está por mí, contra mí está; y el que conmigo no recoge, desparrama.
El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no recoge, derrama.
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
“He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.
Por lo cual os declaro que cualquier pecado y cualquier blasfemia se perdonará a los hombres; pero la blasfemia contra el espíritu de Dios no se perdona tan fácilmente.
Por tanto os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia será perdonado á los hombres: mas la blasfemia contra el Espíritu no será perdonada á los hombres.
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
Asimismo a cualquiera que hablara contra el Hijo del hombre se le perdonará; pero a quien hablare contra el Espíritu Santo, despreciando su gracia, no se le perdonará ni en esta vida ni en la otra.
Y cualquiera que hablare contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado: mas cualquiera que hablare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado, ni en este siglo, ni en el venidero.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come.
O bien decid que el árbol es bueno, y bueno su fruto; o si tenéis el árbol por malo tened también por malo su fruto, ya que por el fruto se conoce la calidad del árbol.
O haced el árbol bueno, y su fruto bueno, ó haced el árbol corrompido, y su fruto dañado; porque por el fruto es conocido el árbol.
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

¡Oh raza de víboras! ¿Cómo es posible que vosotros habléis cosa buena, siendo, como sois, malos? Puesto que de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.
Generación de víboras, ¿cómo podéis hablar bien, siendo malos? porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
El hombre de bien, del buen fondo de su corazón saca buenas cosas, y el hombre malo, de su mal fondo saca cosas malas.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Yo os digo que hasta de cualquier palabra ociosa que hablaren los hombres han de dar cuenta el día del juicio.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Porque por tus palabras habrás de ser justificado, y por tus palabras condenado.

Entonces algunos de los escribas y fariseos le hablaron, diciendo: Maestro, quisiéramos verte hacer algún milagro.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

Mas él les respondió: Esta raza mala y adúltera pide un prodigio; pero no se le dará el que pide, sino el prodigio de Jonás profeta:

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Porque así como Jonás estuvo en el vientre de la ballena tres días y tres noches, así el Hijo del hombre estará tres días y tres noches en el seno de la tierra.

Los naturales de Nínive se levantarán el día del juicio contra esta raza de hombres, y la condenarán: Por cuanto ellos hicieron penitencia a la predicación de Jonás . Y con todo, el que está aquí es más que Jonás .

The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
La reina del mediodía hará de acusadora en el día del juicio contra esta raza de hombres y la condenará; por cuanto vino de los extremos de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón . Y con todo, aquí tenéis quien es más que Salomón .

Cuando el espíritu inmundo ha salido de algún hombre, anda vagando por lugares áridos, buscando dónde hacer asiento, sin que lo consiga.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Entonces dice: Volveré a mi casa, de donde he salido. Y volviendo a ella la encuentra desocupada, bien barrida y alhajada.

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Con esto va y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrando habitan allí; con que viene a ser el último estado de aquel hombre más lastimoso que el primero. Así ha de acontecer a esta raza de hombres perversísima.
Entonces va, y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrados, moran allí; y son peores las cosas últimas del tal hombre que las primeras: así también acontecerá á esta generación mala.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Todavía estaba él hablando al pueblo, y he aquí su madre y sus hermanos estaban fuera, que le querían hablar.

Por lo que uno le dijo: Mira que tu madre y tus hermanos están allí fuera preguntando por ti.

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
Pero él, respondiendo al que se lo decía, replicó: ¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?
Y respondiendo él al que le decía esto, dijo: ¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?
But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
Y mostrando con la mano a sus discípulos: Estos, dijo, son mi madre y mis hermanos.
