EN aquel tiempo Herodes el tetrarca oyó la fama de Jesús,
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

y les dijo a sus sirvientes: “¡Ese es Juan el Bautista! Ha resucitado de entre los muertos, y por eso tiene poder para hacer milagros”.

Es que Herodes había mandado arrestar a Juan, lo había encadenado y metido en la cárcel. Todo esto lo hizo por causa de Herodías, la esposa de su hermano Felipe.
Porque Herodes había prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado y puesto en la cárcel, por causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano;
For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.

Porque Juan le decía a Herodes: “No te está permitido tenerla por mujer”.

Al bajar Jesús de la barca y ver a tanta gente, sintió compasión de ellos y sanó a los enfermos.
Y saliendo Jesús, vió un gran gentío, y tuvo compasión de ellos, y sanó á los que de ellos había enfermos.
And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Al atardecer, sus discípulos se le acercaron y le dijeron: “Este lugar está despoblado y ya es tarde. Despide a la gente para que vayan a los pueblos y se compren comida”.
Y cuando fué la tarde del día, se llegaron á él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el tiempo es ya pasado: despide las gentes, para que se vayan por las aldeas, y compren para sí de comer.
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”
Pero Jesús les dijo: “No tienen por qué irse. Denles ustedes de comer”.

But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

Ellos contestaron: “Aquí no tenemos más que cinco panes y dos pescados”.

Él les dijo: “Tráiganmelos”.

Todos comieron hasta quedar satisfechos, y los discípulos recogieron doce canastas llenas con los pedazos que sobraron.

Enseguida Jesús hizo que sus discípulos subieran a la barca y se adelantaran a la otra orilla, mientras él despedía a la multitud.

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Después de despedirlos, subió a un monte a orar a solas. Al llegar la noche, estaba allí él solo.

And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Mientras tanto, la barca ya estaba bastante lejos de la orilla, sacudida por las olas, porque el viento estaba en contra.

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

En la madrugada, Jesús fue hacia ellos caminando sobre el agua.

Cuando los discípulos lo vieron caminar sobre el agua, se asustaron muchísimo. “¡Es un fantasma!”, gritaban llenos de miedo.

Pedro le dijo: “Señor, si eres tú, manda que yo vaya hacia ti sobre el agua”.
Entonces le respondió Pedro, y dijo: Señor, si tú eres, manda que yo vaya á ti sobre las aguas.
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
“Ven”, le dijo Jesús. Pedro bajó de la barca y caminó sobre el agua en dirección a Jesús.
Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro del barco, andaba sobre las aguas para ir á Jesús.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.
Pero al sentir el viento fuerte, le dio miedo y empezó a hundirse. Entonces gritó: “¡Señor, sálvame!”.
Mas viendo el viento fuerte, tuvo miedo; y comenzándose á hundir, dió voces, diciendo: Señor, sálvame.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
Enseguida Jesús le tendió la mano, lo agarró y le dijo: “¡Hombre de poca fe! ¿Por qué dudaste?”.
Y luego Jesús, extendiendo la mano, trabó de él, y le dice: Oh hombre de poca fe, ¿por qué dudaste?
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Cuando subieron a la barca, el viento se calmó.
Y como ellos entraron en el barco, sosegóse el viento.
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
Y los que estaban en la barca se arrodillaron ante él y le dijeron: “¡Verdaderamente tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”.
Entonces los que estaban en el barco, vinieron y le adoraron, diciendo: Verdaderamente eres Hijo de Dios.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
Después de cruzar el lago, llegaron a la tierra de Genesaret.
Y llegando á la otra parte, vinieron á la tierra de Genezaret.
And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
La gente del lugar lo reconoció y corrió la voz por toda la región. Le llevaron a todos los enfermos
Y como le conocieron los hombres de aquel lugar, enviaron por toda aquella tierra alrededor, y trajeron á él todos los enfermos;
And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;
y le rogaban que les dejara tocar por lo menos el borde de su manto. Y todos los que lo tocaban quedaban sanos.
Y le rogaban que solamente tocasen el borde de su manto; y todos los que tocaron, quedaron sanos.
And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
