En ce temps-là Hérode le Tétrarque ouït la renommée de Jésus ;

EN aquel tiempo Herodes el tetrarca oyó la fama de Jesús,

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

Et il dit à ses serviteurs : c’est Jean Baptiste ; il est ressuscité des morts, c’est pourquoi la vertu de faire des miracles agit puissamment en lui.

Y dijo á sus criados: Este es Juan el Bautista: él ha resucitado de los muertos, y por eso virtudes obran en él.

And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”

Car Hérode avait fait prendre Jean, et l’avait fait lier et mettre en prison, à cause d’Hérodias, femme de Philippe son frère.

Porque Herodes había prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado y puesto en la cárcel, por causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano;

For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.

Parce que Jean lui disait : il ne t’est pas permis de l’avoir pour femme.

Porque Juan le decía: No te es lícito tenerla.

For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

Et il eût bien voulu le faire mourir, mais il craignait le peuple, à cause qu’on tenait Jean pour Prophète.

Or au jour du festin de la naissance d’Hérode, la fille d’Hérodias dansa en pleine salle, et plut à Hérode.

But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

C’est pourquoi il lui promit avec serment de lui donner tout ce qu’elle demanderait.

Y prometió él con juramento de darle todo lo que pidiese.

Elle donc étant poussée auparavant par sa mère, lui dit : donne-moi ici dans un plat la tête de Jean Baptiste.

And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger.

Et le roi en fut marri ; mais à cause des serments, et de ceux qui étaient à table avec lui, il commanda qu’on la lui donnât.

Entonces el rey se entristeció; mas por el juramento, y por los que estaban juntamente á la mesa, mandó que se le diese.

And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,

Et il envoya décapiter Jean dans la prison.

Y enviando, degolló á Juan en la cárcel.

And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

Et Jésus l’ayant entendu se retira de là dans une nacelle, vers un lieu désert, pour y être en particulier ; ce que les troupes ayant appris, elles sortirent des villes voisines, et le suivirent à pied.

Y oyéndolo Jesús, se apartó de allí en un barco á un lugar descierto, apartado: y cuando las gentes lo oyeron, le siguieron á pie de las ciudades.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.

Et Jésus étant sorti vit une grande multitude, et il en fut ému de compassion, et guérit leurs malades.

Y saliendo Jesús, vió un gran gentío, y tuvo compasión de ellos, y sanó á los que de ellos había enfermos.

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Et comme il se faisait tard, ses Disciples vinrent à lui, et lui dirent : ce lieu est désert, et l’heure est déjà passée ; donne congé à ces troupes, afin qu’elles s’en aillent aux bourgades, et qu’elles achètent des vivres.

Y cuando fué la tarde del día, se llegaron á él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el tiempo es ya pasado: despide las gentes, para que se vayan por las aldeas, y compren para sí de comer.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”

Mais Jésus leur dit : ils n’ont pas besoin de s’en aller ; donnez-leur vous- mêmes à manger.

Y Jesús les dijo: No tienen necesidad de irse: dadles vosotros de comer.

But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

But Jesus said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

Et ils lui dirent : nous n’avons ici que cinq pains et deux poissons.

Y ellos dijeron: No tenemos aquí sino cinco panes y dos peces.

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”

Et il leur dit : apportez-les-moi ici.

Y él les dijo: Traédmelos acá.

He said, Bring them hither to me.

He said, “Bring them here to me.”

Et après avoir commandé aux troupes de s’asseoir sur l’herbe, il prit les cinq pains et les deux poissons, et levant les yeux au ciel, il bénit Dieu ; puis ayant rompu les pains, il les donna aux Disciples, et les Disciples aux troupes.

Y mandando á las gentes recostarse sobre la hierba, tomando los cinco panes y los dos peces, alzando los ojos al cielo, bendijo, y partió y dió los panes á los discípulos, y los discípulos á las gentes.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Et ils en mangèrent tous, et furent rassasiés, et ils remportèrent du reste des pièces de pain douze corbeilles pleines.

Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que sobró de los pedazos, doce cestas llenas.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

Or ceux qui avaient mangé étaient environ cinq mille hommes, sans compter les femmes et les petits enfants.

Y los que comieron fueron como cinco mil hombres, sin las mujeres y los niños.

And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

Incontinent après Jésus obligea ses Disciples de monter dans la nacelle, et de passer avant lui à l’autre côté, pendant qu’il donnerait congé aux troupes.

Y luego Jesús hizo á sus discípulos entrar en el barco, é ir delante de él á la otra parte del lago, entre tanto que él despedía á las gentes.

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Et quand il leur eut donné congé, il monta sur une montagne pour être en particulier, afin de prier ; et le soir étant venu, il était là seul.

Y despedidas las gentes, subió al monte, apartado, á orar: y como fué la tarde del día, estaba allí solo.

And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.

Or la nacelle était déjà au milieu de la mer, battue par les vagues ; car le vent était contraire.

Y ya el barco estaba en medio de la mar, atormentado de las ondas; porque el viento era contrario.

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.

Et sur la quatrième veille de la nuit Jésus vint vers eux, marchant sur la mer.

Mas á la cuarta vela de la noche, Jesús fué á ellos andando sobre la mar.

And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.

Et ses Disciples le voyant marcher sur la mer, ils en furent troublés, et ils dirent : c’est un fantôme ; et de la peur qu’ils eurent ils jetèrent des cris.

Y los discípulos, viéndole andar sobre la mar, se turbaron, diciendo: Fantasma es. Y dieron voces de miedo.

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Mais tout aussitôt Jésus parla à eux, et leur dit : rassurez-vous ; c’est moi, n’ayez point de peur.

Mas luego Jesús les habló, diciendo: Confiad, yo soy; no tengáis miedo.

But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

Et Pierre lui répondant, dit : Seigneur ! si c’est toi, commande que j’aille à toi sur les eaux.

Entonces le respondió Pedro, y dijo: Señor, si tú eres, manda que yo vaya á ti sobre las aguas.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”

Et il lui dit : viens. Et Pierre étant descendu de la nacelle marcha sur les eaux pour aller à Jésus.

Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro del barco, andaba sobre las aguas para ir á Jesús.

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.

Mais voyant que le vent était fort, il eut peur ; et comme il commençait à s’enfoncer, il s’écria, en disant : Seigneur ! sauve-moi.

Mas viendo el viento fuerte, tuvo miedo; y comenzándose á hundir, dió voces, diciendo: Señor, sálvame.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Et aussitôt Jésus étendit sa main, et le prit, en lui disant : homme de petite foi, pourquoi as-tu douté ?

Y luego Jesús, extendiendo la mano, trabó de él, y le dice: Oh hombre de poca fe, ¿por qué dudaste?

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Et quand ils furent montés dans la nacelle, le vent s’apaisa.

Y como ellos entraron en el barco, sosegóse el viento.

And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.

Alors ceux qui étaient dans la nacelle, vinrent, et l’adorèrent, en disant : certes tu es le Fils de Dieu.

Entonces los que estaban en el barco, vinieron y le adoraron, diciendo: Verdaderamente eres Hijo de Dios.

Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”

Puis étant passés au-delà de la mer, ils vinrent en la contrée de Génézareth.

Y llegando á la otra parte, vinieron á la tierra de Genezaret.

And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.

Et quand les gens de ce lieu-là l’eurent reconnu, ils envoyèrent l’annoncer par toute la contrée d’alentour ; et ils lui présentèrent tous ceux qui se portaient mal.

Y como le conocieron los hombres de aquel lugar, enviaron por toda aquella tierra alrededor, y trajeron á él todos los enfermos;

And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;

Et ils le priaient de permettre qu’ils touchassent seulement le bord de sa robe ; et tous ceux qui le touchèrent furent guéris. Retournez au Début

Y le rogaban que solamente tocasen el borde de su manto; y todos los que tocaron, quedaron sanos.

And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
