Zu jener Zeit hörte Herodes, der Vierfürst, das Gerücht von Jesu und sprach zu seinen Knechten:

EN aquel tiempo Herodes el tetrarca oyó la fama de Jesús,

Dieser ist Johannes der Täufer; er ist von den Toten auferstanden, und darum wirken solche Kräfte in ihm.

Y dijo á sus criados: Este es Juan el Bautista: él ha resucitado de los muertos, y por eso virtudes obran en él.

And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”

denn Herodes hatte Johannes gegriffen, ihn gebunden und ins Gefängnis gesetzt, um der Herodias willen, des Weibes seines Bruders Philippus.

Porque Herodes había prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado y puesto en la cárcel, por causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano;

For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.

Denn Johannes hatte ihm gesagt: Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, sie zu haben.

Und als er ihn töten wollte, fürchtete er die Volksmenge, weil sie ihn für einen Propheten hielten.

Als aber der Geburtstag des Herodes begangen wurde, tanzte die Tochter der Herodias vor ihnen, und sie gefiel dem Herodes;

weshalb er mit einem Eide zusagte, ihr zu geben, um was irgend sie bitten würde.

Y prometió él con juramento de darle todo lo que pidiese.

Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

Sie aber, von ihrer Mutter angewiesen, sagt: Gib mir hier auf einer Schüssel das Haupt Johannes' es Täufers.

And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger.

Und der König wurde traurig; aber um der Eide und um derer willen, die mit zu Tische lagen, befahl er, es zu geben.

Entonces el rey se entristeció; mas por el juramento, y por los que estaban juntamente á la mesa, mandó que se le diese.

And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

Und er sandte hin und ließ den Johannes im Gefängnis enthaupten.

Und sein Haupt wurde auf einer Schüssel gebracht und dem Mägdlein gegeben, und sie brachte es ihrer Mutter.

Entonces llegaron sus discípulos, y tomaron el cuerpo, y lo enterraron; y fueron, y dieron las nuevas á Jesús.

And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

Und als Jesus es hörte, entwich er von dannen in einem Schiffe an einen öden Ort besonders. Und als die Volksmengen es hörten, folgten sie ihm zu Fuß aus den Städten.

Y oyéndolo Jesús, se apartó de allí en un barco á un lugar descierto, apartado: y cuando las gentes lo oyeron, le siguieron á pie de las ciudades.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.

Und als er hinausging, sah er eine große Volksmenge, und er wurde innerlich bewegt über sie und heilte ihre Schwachen.

Y saliendo Jesús, vió un gran gentío, y tuvo compasión de ellos, y sanó á los que de ellos había enfermos.

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Als es aber Abend geworden war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: Der Ort ist öde, und die Zeit ist schon vergangen; entlaß die Volksmengen, auf daß sie hingehen in die Dörfer und sich Speise kaufen.

Y cuando fué la tarde del día, se llegaron á él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el tiempo es ya pasado: despide las gentes, para que se vayan por las aldeas, y compren para sí de comer.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”

Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Sie haben nicht nötig wegzugehen; gebet ihr ihnen zu essen.

Y Jesús les dijo: No tienen necesidad de irse: dadles vosotros de comer.

But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

But Jesus said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

Sie aber sagen zu ihm: Wir haben nichts hier als nur fünf Brote und zwei Fische.

Y ellos dijeron: No tenemos aquí sino cinco panes y dos peces.

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”

Er aber sprach: Bringet sie mir her.

Y él les dijo: Traédmelos acá.

He said, Bring them hither to me.

He said, “Bring them here to me.”

Und er befahl den Volksmengen, sich auf das Gras zu lagern, nahm die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische, blickte auf gen Himmel und segnete sie, und er brach die Brote und gab sie den Jüngern, die Jünger aber gaben sie den Volksmengen.

Y mandando á las gentes recostarse sobre la hierba, tomando los cinco panes y los dos peces, alzando los ojos al cielo, bendijo, y partió y dió los panes á los discípulos, y los discípulos á las gentes.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Und sie aßen alle und wurden gesättigt. Und sie hoben auf, was an Brocken übrigblieb, zwölf Handkörbe voll.

Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que sobró de los pedazos, doce cestas llenas.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

They all ate and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.

Die aber aßen, waren bei fünftausend Männer, ohne Weiber und Kindlein.

Y los que comieron fueron como cinco mil hombres, sin las mujeres y los niños.

And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

Und alsbald nötigte er die Jünger, in das Schiff zu steigen und ihm an das jenseitige Ufer vorauszufahren, bis er die Volksmengen entlassen habe.

Y luego Jesús hizo á sus discípulos entrar en el barco, é ir delante de él á la otra parte del lago, entre tanto que él despedía á las gentes.

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

Und als er die Volksmengen entlassen hatte, stieg er auf den Berg besonders, um zu beten. Als es aber Abend geworden, war er daselbst allein.

Y despedidas las gentes, subió al monte, apartado, á orar: y como fué la tarde del día, estaba allí solo.

And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.

Das Schiff aber war schon mitten auf dem See und litt Not von den Wellen, denn der Wind war ihnen entgegen.

Y ya el barco estaba en medio de la mar, atormentado de las ondas; porque el viento era contrario.

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.

Aber in der vierten Nachtwache kam er zu ihnen, wandelnd auf dem See.

Mas á la cuarta vela de la noche, Jesús fué á ellos andando sobre la mar.

And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

Und als die Jünger ihn auf dem See wandeln sahen, wurden sie bestürzt und sprachen: Es ist ein Gespenst! Und sie schrieen vor Furcht.

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Alsbald aber redete Jesus zu ihnen und sprach: Seid gutes Mutes, ich bin's; fürchtet euch nicht!

Mas luego Jesús les habló, diciendo: Confiad, yo soy; no tengáis miedo.

But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”

Petrus aber antwortete ihm und sprach: Herr, wenn du es bist, so befiehl mir, zu dir zu kommen auf den Wassern.

Entonces le respondió Pedro, y dijo: Señor, si tú eres, manda que yo vaya á ti sobre las aguas.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”

Er aber sprach: Komm! Und Petrus stieg aus dem Schiffe und wandelte auf den Wassern, um zu Jesu zu kommen.

Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro del barco, andaba sobre las aguas para ir á Jesús.

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.

Als er aber den starken Wind sah, fürchtete er sich; und als er anfing zu sinken, schrie er und sprach:

Mas viendo el viento fuerte, tuvo miedo; y comenzándose á hundir, dió voces, diciendo: Señor, sálvame.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Herr, rette mich! Alsbald aber streckte Jesus die Hand aus, ergriff ihn und spricht zu ihm: Kleingläubiger, warum zweifeltest du?

Y luego Jesús, extendiendo la mano, trabó de él, y le dice: Oh hombre de poca fe, ¿por qué dudaste?

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Und als sie in das Schiff gestiegen waren, legte sich der Wind.

Y como ellos entraron en el barco, sosegóse el viento.

And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.

Die aber in dem Schiffe waren, kamen und warfen sich vor ihm nieder und sprachen: Wahrhaftig, du bist Gottes Sohn!

Entonces los que estaban en el barco, vinieron y le adoraron, diciendo: Verdaderamente eres Hijo de Dios.

Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”

Und als sie hinübergefahren waren, kamen sie in das Land Genezareth.

Y llegando á la otra parte, vinieron á la tierra de Genezaret.

And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.

Und als die Männer jenes Ortes ihn erkannten, schickten sie in jene ganze Umgegend und brachten alle Leidenden zu ihm;

Y como le conocieron los hombres de aquel lugar, enviaron por toda aquella tierra alrededor, y trajeron á él todos los enfermos;

And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;

und sie baten ihn, daß sie nur die Quaste seines Kleides anrühren dürften: und so viele ihn anrührten, wurden völlig geheilt.

Y le rogaban que solamente tocasen el borde de su manto; y todos los que tocaron, quedaron sanos.

And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
