EN aquel tiempo Herodes el tetrarca oyó la fama de Jesús,

Pois Herodes tinha mandado acorrentar João na prisão por causa de sua esposa Herodias, esposa de seu irmão Filipe.

Logo que Jesus recebeu a notícia, saiu sozinho num barco para uma região distante, a fim de ficar só. Mas o povo viu para onde ele tinha ido, e pessoas vindas de muitas vilas seguiram a Jesus por terra.

Quando Jesus saiu do barco e viu a vasta multidão que estava esperando por ele, teve compaixão e curou os seus doentes.

Naquela tarde os discípulos vieram a ele e disseram: “Está ficando tarde, e não há nada para comer aqui neste lugar deserto; mande este povo embora, para que eles possam ir às vilas e comprar alguma comida”.
Y cuando fué la tarde del día, se llegaron á él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el tiempo es ya pasado: despide las gentes, para que se vayan por las aldeas, y compren para sí de comer.
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

Mas Jesus respondeu: “Isto não é necessário. Vocês é que devem dar de comer a esta multidão!”

Então Pedro gritou: “Senhor, se realmente é o Senhor, diga-me para eu ir caminhando em cima da água até onde o Senhor está”.
Entonces le respondió Pedro, y dijo: Señor, si tú eres, manda que yo vaya á ti sobre las aguas.
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

“Venha”, disse o Senhor. Assim Pedro saiu do barco e caminhou por cima da água na direção de Jesus.
Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro del barco, andaba sobre las aguas para ir á Jesús.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.
Mas quando ele olhou em volta e sentiu a força do vento, ficou cheio de pavor, começou a afundar e gritou: “Salve-me, Senhor!”
Mas viendo el viento fuerte, tuvo miedo; y comenzándose á hundir, dió voces, diciendo: Señor, sálvame.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
No mesmo instante Jesus estendeu-lhe a mão e o segurou. “Ó homem de pequena fé, por que você duvidou?”, disse Jesus.
Y luego Jesús, extendiendo la mano, trabó de él, y le dice: Oh hombre de poca fe, ¿por qué dudaste?
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
E quando eles subiram no barco, o vento parou.
Y como ellos entraron en el barco, sosegóse el viento.
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Os outros ficaram muito admirados e o adoraram, dizendo: “Realmente o Senhor é o Filho de Deus!”
Entonces los que estaban en el barco, vinieron y le adoraron, diciendo: Verdaderamente eres Hijo de Dios.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
Depois de atravessarem o mar, chegaram a Genesaré.
Y llegando á la otra parte, vinieron á la tierra de Genezaret.
And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
A notícia da chegada deles espalhou-se depressa por toda aquela região, e logo o povo trouxe seus doentes para serem curados.
Y como le conocieron los hombres de aquel lugar, enviaron por toda aquella tierra alrededor, y trajeron á él todos los enfermos;
And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;
Os doentes pediam-lhe que os deixasse tocar mesmo que fosse na barra do seu manto, e todos os que faziam isso foram curados!
Y le rogaban que solamente tocasen el borde de su manto; y todos los que tocaron, quedaron sanos.
And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
