Um dia os fariseus e os saduceus vieram pôr Jesus à prova, pedindo-lhe que lhes apresentasse alguma demonstração de poder dos céus.

He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
Quando o céu está vermelho de manhã, vocês dizem que o tempo será mau o dia todo. Vocês sabem como vai ser o tempo, mas não sabem ler os sinais evidentes dos tempos!
Y á la mañana: Hoy tempestad; porque tiene arreboles el cielo triste. Hipócritas, que sabéis hacer diferencia en la faz del cielo; ¿y en las señales de los tiempos no podéis?
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!
Esta geração má e sem fé está pedindo um sinal milagroso dos céus, mas não lhe será dada mais nenhuma prova a não ser o sinal de Jonas”. E então Jesus deixou a todos e retirou-se.
La generación mala y adulterina demanda señal; mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás profeta. Y dejándolos, se fué.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them and departed.
Quando estavam chegando ao outro lado do mar, os discípulos descobriram que tinham esquecido de levar pão.
Y viniendo sus discípulos de la otra parte del lago, se habían olvidado de tomar pan.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
“Cuidado!”, advertiu-os Jesus. “Tomem cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e dos saduceus”.
Y Jesús les dijo: Mirad, y guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos y de los Saduceos.
Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Eles pensavam que ele estava dizendo isso porque tinham esquecido de trazer pão.
Y ellos pensaban dentro de sí, diciendo: Esto dice porque no tomamos pan.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.

Jesus sabia o que eles estavam discutindo e perguntou-lhes: “Ó homens de tão pequena fé! Por que vocês estão preocupados por não terem comida?
Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis dentro de vosotros, hombres de poca fe, que no tomasteis pan?
Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, because you have brought no bread?
Vocês não entenderam ainda? Não se lembram dos cinco pães para os 5.000 e os cestos cheios que sobraram?
¿No entendéis aún, ni os acordáis de los cinco panes entre cinco mil hombres, y cuántos cestos alzasteis?
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Don’t you yet perceive or remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up,
Não se lembram dos sete pães para os 4.000 e de quantos cestos sobraram?
¿Ni de los siete panes entre cuatro mil, y cuántas espuertas tomasteis?

Como poderiam ainda pensar que eu estava falando de comida? Mais uma vez eu lhes digo: Tomem cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e dos saduceus”.
¿Cómo es que no entendéis que no por el pan os dije, que os guardaseis de la levadura de los Fariseos y de los Saduceos?
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Então eles entenderam finalmente que por fermento ele queria dizer o ensino errado dos fariseus e saduceus.
Entonces entendieron que no les había dicho que se guardasen de la levadura de pan, sino de la doctrina de los Fariseos y de los Saduceos.
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Quando Jesus chegou à região da Cesareia de Filipe, perguntou aos seus discípulos: “Quem o povo está dizendo que o Filho do Homem é?”
Y viniendo Jesús á las partes de Cesarea de Filipo, preguntó á sus discípulos, diciendo: ¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del hombre?
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Eles responderam: “Alguns dizem que o Senhor é João Batista; outros, que é Elias; e ainda outros, que é Jeremias ou um dos outros profetas”.
Y ellos dijeron: Unos, Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; y otros, Jeremías, ó alguno de los profetas.
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
Então ele perguntou: “E vocês, quem vocês dizem que eu sou?”
El les dice: Y vosotros, ¿quién decís que soy?
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simão Pedro respondeu: “O Senhor é o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo”.

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

“Deus abençoou você, Simão, filho de Jonas”, disse Jesus, “porque meu Pai que está no céu revelou isto pessoalmente a você. Isto não vem de nenhuma fonte humana.
Entonces, respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás; porque no te lo reveló carne ni sangre, mas mi Padre que está en los cielos.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Você é Pedro, e sobre esta rocha edificarei a minha igreja; e todas as forças do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela.
Mas yo también te digo, que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi iglesia; y las puertas del infierno no prevalecerán contra ella.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
E eu darei a você as chaves do Reino dos céus; as coisas que você atar na terra serão atadas no céu; e as coisas que você desatar na terra serão desatadas no céu!”
Y á ti daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; y todo lo que ligares en la tierra será ligado en los cielos; y todo lo que desatares en la tierra será desatado en los cielos.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
Então advertiu aos discípulos que não contassem aos outros que ele era o Messias.
Entonces mandó á sus discípulos que á nadie dijesen que él era Jesús el Cristo.
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
Daí em diante, Jesus começou a falar claramente aos seus discípulos sobre a sua ida a Jerusalém, e o que aconteceria com ele ali, que ele sofreria nas mãos dos líderes religiosos dos judeus, dos chefes dos sacerdotes e dos mestres da lei, que seria morto, e que três dias depois ressuscitaria.
Desde aquel tiempo comenzó Jesús á declarar á sus discípulos que le convenía ir á Jerusalem, y padecer mucho de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas; y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercer día.
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Mas Pedro levou Jesus para um lado para censurá-lo, dizendo: “Que Deus não permita isso, Senhor”, disse ele. “Isso não lhe acontecerá!”
Y Pedro, tomándolo aparte, comenzó á reprenderle, diciendo: Señor, ten compasión de ti: en ninguna manera esto te acontezca.
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”
Jesus voltou-se para Pedro e disse: “Afaste-se de mim, Satanás! Você é uma armadilha perigosa para mim. Você está pensando apenas do ponto de vista humano, e não do ponto de vista de Deus”.
Entonces él, volviéndose, dijo á Pedro: Quítate de delante de mí, Satanás; me eres escándalo; porque no entiendes lo que es de Dios sino lo que es de los hombres.
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”
Então Jesus disse aos discípulos: “Se alguém quer ser um dos meus seguidores, negue-se a si mesmo, tome a sua cruz e siga-me.
Entonces Jesús dijo á sus discípulos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
Porque todo aquele que quiser conservar a sua vida, vai perdê-la; e todo aquele que perder a sua vida por minha causa, vai encontrá-la novamente.
Porque cualquiera que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá, y cualquiera que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
Que vantagem há em alguém ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder a sua alma? O que se pode comparar com o valor da sua alma?
Porque ¿de qué aprovecha al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y perdiere su alma? O ¿qué recompensa dará el hombre por su alma?
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
Porque o Filho do Homem virá com os seus anjos na glória do seu Pai, e julgará cada pessoa de acordo com as suas obras.
Porque el Hijo del hombre vendrá en la gloria de su Padre con sus ángeles, y entonces pagará á cada uno conforme á sus obras.
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will give to everyone according to his deeds.
E garanto que alguns de vocês que estão aqui neste momento viverão para ver o Filho do Homem chegando em seu Reino”.
De cierto os digo: hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte, hasta que hayan visto al Hijo del hombre viniendo en su reino.
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”
