Habiendo concluido Jesús estos discursos, partió de Galilea, y vino a los confines de Judea, del otro lado del Jordán,
Y ACONTECIÓ que acabando Jesús estas palabras, se pasó de Galilea, y vino á los términos de Judea, pasado el Jordán.
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

adonde le siguieron muchas gentes, y curó allí a sus enfermos.

Y se acercaron a él los fariseos para tentarle, y le dijeron: ¿Es lícito a un hombre repudiar a su mujer por cualquier motivo?

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
Pharisees came to him, testing him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
Jesús , en respuesta, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que aquel que al principio creó al linaje humano, creó un solo hombre y una sola mujer?, y que se dijo:
Y él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿No habéis leído que el que los hizo al principio, macho y hembra los hizo,
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
He answered, “Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,
Por tanto, dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá con su mujer, y serán dos en una sola carne.
Y dijo: Por tanto, el hombre dejará padre y madre, y se unirá á su mujer, y serán dos en una carne?
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh’?
Así ya no son dos, sino una sola carne. Lo que Dios, pues, ha unido, no lo desuna el hombre.
Así que, no son ya más dos, sino una carne: por tanto, lo que Dios juntó, no lo aparte el hombre.
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.”
Pero ¿por qué, replicaron ellos mandó Moisés dar libelo de repudio y despedirla?
Dícenle: ¿Por qué, pues, Moisés mandó dar carta de divorcio, y repudiarla?
They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and divorce her?”
Les dijo Jesús : A causa de la dureza de vuestro corazón os permitió Moisés repudiar a vuestras mujeres; mas desde el principio no fue así.
Díceles: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón Moisés os permitió repudiar á vuestras mujeres: mas al principio no fué así.
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.
Así, pues, os declaro que cualquiera que despidiere a su mujer, sino en caso de adulterio, y aun en este caso se casare con otra, comete adulterio; y que quien se casare con la divorciada, también lo comete.
Y yo os digo que cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, si no fuere por causa de fornicación, y se casare con otra, adultera: y el que se casare con la repudiada, adultera.
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.”
Y le dijeron sus discípulos: Si tal es la condición del hombre con respecto a su mujer no tiene cuenta casarse.
Dícenle sus discípulos: Si así es la condición del hombre con su mujer, no conviene casarse.
His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
His disciples said to him, “If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”
Jesús les respondió: No todos son capaces de esta resolución, sino aquellos a quienes se les ha concedido de lo alto.
Entonces él les dijo: No todos reciben esta palabra, sino aquellos á quienes es dado.
But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
But he said to them, “Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given.
Porque hay unos eunucos que nacieron tales del vientre de sus madres; hay eunucos que fueron castrados por los hombres; y eunucos hay que se castraron en cierta manera a sí mismos por amor del reino de los cielos. Aquel que puede ser capaz de eso séalo.
Porque hay eunucos que nacieron así del vientre de su madre; y hay eunucos, que son hechos eunucos por los hombres; y hay eunucos que se hicieron á sí mismos eunucos por causa del reino de los cielos; el que pueda ser capaz de eso, séalo.
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it.”
En esta sazón le presentaron unos niños para que pusiese sobre ellos las manos y orase. Mas los discípulos, creyendo que le importunaban, los reñían.
Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños, para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos, y orase; y los discípulos les riñeron.
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
Then little children were brought to him that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
Jesús , por el contrario, les dijo: Dejad en paz a los niños, y no les estorbéis de venir a mí; porque de los que son como ellos es el reino de los cielos.
Y Jesús dijo: Dejad á los niños, y no les impidáis de venir á mí; porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos.
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”
Y habiéndoles impuesto las manos, o dado la bendición, partió de allí.
Y habiendo puesto sobre ellos las manos, se partió de allí.
And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

Se le acercó entonces un hombre joven que le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué obras buenas debo hacer para conseguir la vida eterna?
Y he aquí, uno llegándose le dijo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué bien haré para tener la vida eterna?
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
El cual le respondió: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Dios sólo es bueno. Por lo demás, si quieres entrar en la vida eterna, guarda los mandamientos.
Y él le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Ninguno es bueno sino uno, es á saber, Dios: y si quieres entrar en la vida, guarda los mandamientos.
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Le dijo él: ¿Qué mandamientos? Respondió Jesús : No matarás; no cometerás adulterio; no hurtarás; no levantarás falsos testimonios;
Dícele: ¿Cuáles? Y Jesús dijo: No matarás: No adulterarás: No hurtarás: No dirás falso testimonio:
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’
honra a tu padre y a tu madre; y ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
Honra á tu padre y á tu madre: y, Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Y le dijo el joven: Todos ésos los he guardado desde mi juventud; ¿qué más me falta?
Dícele el mancebo: Todo esto guardé desde mi juventud: ¿qué más me falta?
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”
Le respondió Jesús : Si quieres ser perfecto, anda y vende cuanto tienes, y dáselo a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; ven después, y sígueme.
Dícele Jesús: Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende lo que tienes, y dalo á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Habiendo oído el joven estas palabras, se retiró entristecido; y era que tenía muchas posesiones.
Y oyendo el mancebo esta palabra, se fué triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.
But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.
Jesús dijo entonces a sus discípulos: En verdad os digo que difícilmente un rico entrará en el reino de los cielos.
Entonces Jesús dijo á sus discípulos: De cierto os digo, que un rico difícilmente entrará en el reino de los cielos.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.
Y aun os digo más: Es más fácil pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que entrar un rico en el reino de los cielos.
Mas os digo, que más liviano trabajo es pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que entrar un rico en el reino de Dios.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
Oídas estas proposiciones, los discípulos estaban muy maravillados, diciendo entre sí: Según esto, ¿quién podrá salvarse?
Mas sus discípulos, oyendo estas cosas, se espantaron en gran manera, diciendo: ¿Quién pues podrá ser salvo?
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
Pero Jesús , mirándolos blandamente, les dijo: Para los hombres es esto imposible, que para Dios todas las cosas posibles.
Y mirándolos Jesús, les dijo: Para con los hombres imposible es esto; mas para con Dios todo es posible.
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Tomando entonces Pedro la palabra, le dijo: Bien ves que nosotros hemos abandonado todas las cosas y te hemos seguido; ¿cuál será, pues, nuestra recompensa?
Entonces respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido: ¿qué pues tendremos?
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”
Mas Jesús le respondió: En verdad os digo, que vosotros que me habéis seguido, el día de la resurrección universal, cuando el Hijo del hombre se sentará en el solio de su majestad, vosotros también os sentaréis sobre doce sillas, y juzgaréis las doce tribus de Israel.
Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo, que vosotros que me habéis seguido, en la regeneración, cuando se sentará el Hijo del hombre en el trono de su gloria, vosotros también os sentaréis sobre doce tronos, para juzgar á las doce tribus de Israel.
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Y cualquiera que haya dejado casa o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, y esposas, o hijos, o heredades por causa de mi nombre, recibirá cien veces más en bienes más sólidos, y poseerá después la vida eterna.
Y cualquiera que dejare casas, ó hermanos, ó hermanas, ó padre, ó madre, ó mujer, ó hijos, ó tierras, por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces tanto, y heredará la vida eterna.
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.
Y muchos que eran los primeros en este mundo, serán los últimos; y muchos que eran los últimos, serán los primeros.
Mas muchos primeros serán postreros, y postreros primeros.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
But many will be last who are first, and first who are last.
