2Abraham fue el padre de Isaac. Isaac fue el padre de Jacob. Jacob fue el padre de Judá y sus hermanos.
3Judá fue el padre de Fares y Zara por Tamar. Fares fue el padre de Esrom. Esrom fue el padre de Aram.
4Aram fue el padre de Aminadab. Aminadab fue el padre de Naasón. Naasón fue el padre de Salmón.
5Salmón fue el padre de Booz, de Rahab. Booz fue el padre de Obed por Rut. Obed fue el padre de Isaí.
6Isaí fue el padre del rey David. El rey David fue padre de Salomón por la que había sido esposa de Urías.
7Salomón fue padre de Roboam. Roboam fue padre de Abías. Abías fue el padre de Asa.
8Asa fue el padre de Josafat. Josafat fue el padre de Joram. Joram fue el padre de Uzías.
9Uzías fue el padre de Jotam. Jotam fue el padre de Acaz. Acaz fue el padre de Ezequías.
10Ezequías fue padre de Manasés. Manasés fue el padre de Amón. Amón fue el padre de Josías.
11Josías fue el padre de Jechoniah y sus hermanos en el momento del exilio a Babilonia.
12Después del exilio a Babilonia, Jechoniah fue el padre de Salatiel. Salatiel fue el padre de Zorobabel.
13Zorobabel fue el padre de Abiud. Abiud fue el padre de Eliaquim. Eliaquim fue el padre de Azor.
14Azor fue el padre de Sadoc. Sadoc fue el padre de Aquim. Aquim fue el padre de Eliud.
15Eliud fue el padre de Eleazar. Eleazar fue el padre de Matán. Matán fue el padre de Jacob.
16Jacob fue el padre de José, el esposo de María, de quien nació Jesús, llamado Cristo.
17Así que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones; desde David hasta el exilio a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; y desde el exilio a Babilonia hasta el Cristo, catorce generaciones.
18El nacimiento de Jesucristo fue así: Después de que su madre, María, se comprometiera con José, antes de que vivieran juntos, fue hallada embarazada por el Espíritu Santo.
19José, su marido, siendo un hombre justo, y no queriendo hacer de ella un ejemplo público, pensaba repudiarla en secreto.
20Pero cuando pensaba en estas cosas, miren, un ángel del Señor se le apareció en sueños, diciendo: “José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María como esposa, porque lo que ha sido concebido en ella es del Espíritu Santo.
21Ella dará a luz un hijo. Le pondrás el nombre de Jesús, porque es él quien salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados”.
22Todo esto ha sucedido para que se cumpla lo dicho por el Señor por medio del profeta, que dijo
23“Miren, la virgen quedará encinta, y dará a luz un hijo. Llamarán su nombre Emanuel”. que es, interpretado, “Dios con nosotros”.
24José se levantó de su sueño e hizo lo que el ángel del Señor le había ordenado, y tomó a su mujer para sí;
25y no la conoció sexualmente hasta que dio a luz a su hijo primogénito. Le puso el nombre de Jesús.

16Y Jacob engendró á José, marido de María, de la cual nació Jesús, el cual es llamado el Cristo.
17De manera que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones: y desde David hasta la transmigración de Babilonia, catorce generaciones: y desde la transmigración de Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones.
18Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fué así: Que siendo María su madre desposada con José, antes que se juntasen, se halló haber concebido del Espíritu Santo.
19Y José su marido, como era justo, y no quisiese infamarla, quiso dejarla secretamente.
20Y pensando él en esto, he aquí el ángel del Señor le aparece en sueños, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas de recibir á María tu mujer, porque lo que en ella es engendrado, del Espíritu Santo es.
21Y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESUS, porque él salvará á su pueblo de sus pecados.
22Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el Señor, por el profeta que dijo:
23He aquí la virgen concebirá y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Emmanuel, que declarado, es: Con nosotros Dios.
24Y despertando José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y recibió á su mujer.
25Y no la conoció hasta que parió á su hijo primogénito: y llamó su nombre JESUS.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

3Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron. Hezron became the father of Ram.
4Ram became the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon. Nahshon became the father of Salmon.
5Salmon became the father of Boaz by Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed by Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse.
6Jesse became the father of King David. David the king became the father of Solomon by her who had been Uriah’s wife.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
19Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
20But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
22Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
24Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;
25and didn’t know her sexually until she had given birth to her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.
