1Este libro es el registro de Jesús el Mesías, Hijo de David, Hijo de Abraham, comenzando con el linaje de su familia:
2Abraham fue el padre de Isaac; e Isaac el padre de Jacob; y Jacob el padre de Judá y de sus hermanos;
3y Judá fue el Padre de Fares y Zarah (su madre fue Tamar); y Fares fue el padre de Esrom; y Esrom el padre de Ram;
4y Ram fue el padre de Aminadab; y Aminadab el padre de Nasón; y Nasón el padre de Salmón;
5y Salmón el padre de Booz (su madre fue Rahab); y Booz el padre de Obed (su madre fue Rut); y Obed el padre de Isaí;
6e Isaí el padre del Rey David. David fue el padre de Salomón (su madre había sido la esposa de Urías);
7y Salomón el padre de Roboam; y Roboam el padre de Abías; y Abías el padre de Asa;
8y Asa fue el padre de Josafat; y Josafat el padre de Joram; y Joram el padre de Uzías;
9y Uzías fue el padre de Jotam; y Jotam el padre de Acaz; y Acaz el padre de Ezequías;
10y Ezequías el padre de Manasés; y Manasés el padre de Amón; y Amón el padre de Josías;
11y Josías el padre de Joaquín y de sus hermanos, durante el tiempo del exilio a Babilonia.
12Después del exilio a Babilonia, Joacím fue el padre de Salatiel; y Salatiel el padre de Zorobabel;
13y Zorobabel el padre de Abiud; y Abiud fue el padre de Eliaquim; y Eliaquim el padre de Azor;
14y Azor el padre de Sadoc; y Sadoc el padre de Aquim; y Aquim el padre de Eliud;
15y Eliud fue el padre de Eleazar; y Eleazar el padre de Matán; y Matán el padre de Jacob;
16y Jacob fue el padre de José, quien fue el esposo de María, de quien nació Jesus, el que es llamado el Mesías.
17Así que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David suman catorce; desde David hasta el exilio de babilonia, catorce; y desde el exilio de Babilonia hasta el Mesías, catorce.
18Así fue como ocurrió el nacimiento de Jesús el Mesías: su madre, María, estaba comprometida con José, pero antes de que durmieran juntos ella quedó embarazada por obra del Espíritu Santo.
19José, su prometido, era un buen hombre y no quería avergonzarla públicamente, de modo que decidió romper el compromiso de manera discreta.
20Mientras José pensaba en todo esto, un ángel del Señor se le apareció en un sueño y le dijo: “José, hijo de David, no temas casarte con María porque ella está embarazada por obra del Espíritu Santo.
21Ella tendrá un hijo y tú le llamarás Jesús, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados”.
22Y todo esto ocurrió para cumplir lo que el Señor dijo a través del profeta:
23“Una virgen quedará embarazada y tendrá un hijo. Y le llamarán Emanuel”, que significa “Dios con nosotros”.
24José se despertó e hizo lo que el ángel del Señor le dijo que hiciera.
25José se casó con María, pero no durmió con ella hasta después que tuvo un hijo, a quien llamó Jesús.

14Y Azor engendró á Sadoc: y Sadoc engendró á Achîm: y Achîm engendró á Eliud:

16Y Jacob engendró á José, marido de María, de la cual nació Jesús, el cual es llamado el Cristo.
17De manera que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones: y desde David hasta la transmigración de Babilonia, catorce generaciones: y desde la transmigración de Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones.
18Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fué así: Que siendo María su madre desposada con José, antes que se juntasen, se halló haber concebido del Espíritu Santo.
19Y José su marido, como era justo, y no quisiese infamarla, quiso dejarla secretamente.
20Y pensando él en esto, he aquí el ángel del Señor le aparece en sueños, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas de recibir á María tu mujer, porque lo que en ella es engendrado, del Espíritu Santo es.
21Y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESUS, porque él salvará á su pueblo de sus pecados.
22Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el Señor, por el profeta que dijo:
23He aquí la virgen concebirá y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Emmanuel, que declarado, es: Con nosotros Dios.
24Y despertando José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y recibió á su mujer.
25Y no la conoció hasta que parió á su hijo primogénito: y llamó su nombre JESUS.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

2Abraham became the father of Isaac. Isaac became the father of Jacob. Jacob became the father of Judah and his brothers.
3Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron. Hezron became the father of Ram.
4Ram became the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon. Nahshon became the father of Salmon.
5Salmon became the father of Boaz by Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed by Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse.
6Jesse became the father of King David. David the king became the father of Solomon by her who had been Uriah’s wife.
7Solomon became the father of Rehoboam. Rehoboam became the father of Abijah. Abijah became the father of Asa.
8Asa became the father of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat became the father of Joram. Joram became the father of Uzziah.

12After the exile to Babylon, Jechoniah became the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel became the father of Zerubbabel.
13Zerubbabel became the father of Abiud. Abiud became the father of Eliakim. Eliakim became the father of Azor.
14Azor became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Achim. Achim became the father of Eliud.
15Eliud became the father of Eleazar. Eleazar became the father of Matthan. Matthan became the father of Jacob.
16Jacob became the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon to the Christ, fourteen generations.
18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
19Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
20But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
22Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
24Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;
25and didn’t know her sexually until she had given birth to her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.
