PORQUE el reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre, padre de familia, que salió por la mañana á ajustar obreros para su viña.
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

y ajustándose con ellos en un denario por día, los envió a su viña.

And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Saliendo después, casi a las nueve de la mañana se encontró con otros que estaban mano sobre mano en la plaza, y les dijo:

Y ellos fueron. Otras dos veces salió al mediodía y a las tres de la tarde e hizo lo mismo.

And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

Le respondieron: Es que nadie nos ha alquilado. Les dijo: Pues id también vosotros a mi viña.
Dícenle: Porque nadie nos ha ajustado. Díceles: Id también vosotros á la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.
They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
“They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ “He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’
Puesto el sol, dijo el dueño de la viña a su mayordomo: Llama a los trabajadores y págales el jornal, empezando desde los últimos y acabando en los primeros.
Y cuando fué la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo á su mayordomo: Llama á los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.
So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
“When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’
Venidos, pues, los que habían ido cerca de las cinco de la tarde recibieron un denario cada uno.
Y viniendo los que habían ido cerca de la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.
And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
“When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.
Cuando al fin llegaron los primeros, se imaginaron que les darían más. Pero éstos recibieron igualmente cada uno su denario.
Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.
But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

Y al recibirlo murmuraban contra el padre de familia,

And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

diciendo: Estos últimos no han trabajado más que una hora, y los has igualado con nosotros, que hemos soportado el peso del día y del calor.
Diciendo: Estos postreros sólo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales á nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga y el calor del día.
Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’
Mas él, por respuesta, dijo a uno de ellos: Amigo, yo no te hago agravio. ¿No te ajustaste conmigo en un denario?
Y él respondiendo, dijo á uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio; ¿no te concertaste conmigo por un denario?
But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
“But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?
Toma, pues, lo que es tuyo, y vete; yo quiero dar a éste, aunque sea el último, tanto como a ti.
Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete; mas quiero dar á este postrero, como á ti.
Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you.
¿Acaso no puedo yo hacer de lo mío lo que quiero?; ¿o ha de ser tu ojo malo o envidioso, porque yo soy bueno?
¿No me es lícito á mí hacer lo que quiero con lo mío? ó ¿es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’
De esta suerte, los últimos en este mundo serán primeros en el reino de los cielos; y los primeros, últimos. Muchos son los llamados; mas pocos los escogidos.
Así los primeros serán postreros, y los postreros primeros: porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Poniéndose Jesús en camino para Jerusalén , tomó aparte a sus doce discípulos y les dijo:
Y subiendo Jesús á Jerusalem, tomó sus doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:
And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them,
Mirad que vamos a Jerusalén , donde el Hijo del hombre ha de ser entregado a los príncipes, y le condenarán a muerte;
He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los escribas, y le condenarán á muerte;
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,
y le entregarán a los gentiles para que sea escarnecido y azotado y crucificado; mas él resucitará al tercer día.
Y le entregarán á los Gentiles para que le escarnezcan, y azoten, y crucifiquen; mas al tercer día resucitará.
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”
Entonces, la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo, se le acerca con sus dos hijos, y le adora, manifestando querer pedirle alguna gracia.
Entonces se llegó á él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, adorándole, y pidiéndole algo.
Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.
Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Y ella les respondió: Dispón que estos dos hijos míos tengan su asiento en tu reino, uno a tu derecha y otro a tu izquierda.
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Di que se sienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno á tu mano derecha, y el otro á tu izquierda, en tu reino.
And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
He said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.”
Mas Jesús le dio por respuesta: No sabéis lo que os pedís. ¿Podéis beber el cáliz que yo tengo de beber? Y le dijeron: Bien podemos.
Entonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís: ¿podéis beber el vaso que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado? Y ellos le dicen: Podemos.
But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him, “We are able.”
Les replicó: Mi cáliz sí que lo beberéis; pero el asiento a mi diestra o siniestra no me toca concederlo a vosotros, sino que será para aquellos a quienes lo ha destinado mi Padre.
Y él les dice: A la verdad mi vaso beberéis, y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; mas el sentaros á mi mano derecha y á mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino á aquellos para quienes está aparejado de mi Padre.
And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
He said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give, but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
Escuchando esto los otros diez apóstoles, se indignaron contra los dos hermanos.
Y como los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron de los dos hermanos.
And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.
Mas Jesús los convocó a sí, y les dijo: No ignoráis que los príncipes de las naciones avasallan a sus pueblos, y que sus magnates los dominan con imperio.
Entonces Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Sabéis que los príncipes de los Gentiles se enseñorean sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen sobre ellos potestad.
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
But Jesus summoned them, and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
No ha de ser así entre vosotros, sino que quien aspirase a ser mayor entre vosotros, debe ser vuestro criado.
Mas entre vosotros no será así; sino el que quisiere entre vosotros hacerse grande, será vuestro servidor;
But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
Y el que quiera ser entre vosotros el primero, ha de ser vuestro siervo.
Y el que quisiere entre vosotros ser el primero, será vuestro siervo:
And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,
Al modo que el Hijo del hombre no ha venido a ser servido, sino a servir, y a dar su vida para redención de muchos.
Como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Al salir de Jericó , le fue siguiendo una gran multitud;
Entonces saliendo ellos de Jericó, le seguía gran compañía.
And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

y he aquí que dos ciegos, sentados a la orilla del camino, habiendo oído decir que pasaba Jesús , comenzaron a gritar, diciendo: ¡Señor! ¡Hijo de David!, ten lástima de nosotros.
Y he aquí dos ciegos sentados junto al camino, como oyeron que Jesús pasaba, clamaron, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”
Mas las gentes los reñían para que callasen. Ellos, no obstante, alzaban más el grito, diciendo: ¡Señor! ¡Hijo de David!, apiádate de nosotros.
Y la gente les reñía para que callasen; mas ellos clamaban más, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”
Se paró a esto Jesús , y llamándoles, les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que os haga?
Y parándose Jesús, los llamó, y dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
Jesus stood still and called them, and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”
Señor, le respondieron ellos, que se abran nuestros ojos.
Ellos le dicen: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.
They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

Movido Jesús a compasión, tocó sus ojos, y en el mismo instante vieron; y se fueron en pos de él.
Entonces Jesús, teniendo misericordia de ellos, les tocó los ojos, y luego sus ojos recibieron la vista; y le siguieron.
So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
