1“Porque el reino de los cielos es como un terrateniente que salió temprano por la mañana para contratar trabajadores para su viña.
2Él decidió pagar un denario por día a los trabajadores, y los envió a trabajar en ella.
3Cerca de las 9 a.m. salió y vio a otros que estaban sin trabajar en la plaza del mercado.
4“‘Vayan y trabajen en la viña también, y yo les pagaré lo justo’, les dijo. Entonces ellos se fueron a trabajar.
5Entre el medio día y las 3 p.m. salió e hizo lo mismo.
6A las 5 p.m. salió y encontró a otros que estaban allí. ‘¿Por qué están por ahí todo el día sin hacer nada?’ les preguntó.
7‘Porque nadie nos ha contratado’, respondieron ellos. ‘Vayan y trabajen en la viña también’, les dijo.
8“Cuando llegó la noche, el propietario de la viña le dijo a su administrador: ‘Llama a los trabajadores y págales sus salarios. Comienza con los trabajadores que fueron contratados al final y luego continúa con los que fueron contratados al principio’.
9Cuando entraron los que fueron contratados a las 5 p.m., cada uno recibió un denario.
10Así que cuando entraron los que fueron contratados al principio, ellos pensaron que recibirían más, pero también recibieron un denario.
11Cuando recibieron su pago, se quejaron del propietario.
12‘Los que fueron contratados al final solo trabajaron una hora, y les pagaste lo mismo que a nosotros que trabajamos todo el día en medio del calor abrasante,’ refunfuñaban.
13“El propietario le respondió a uno de ellos: ‘Amigo, no he sido injusto contigo. ¿No estuviste de acuerdo conmigo en trabajar por un denario?
14Toma tu pago y vete. Lo mismo que te pagué a ti, lo quiero pagar a los que fueron contratados al final.
15¿Acaso no puedo decidir qué hacer con mi propio dinero? ¿Por qué deberías mirarme con desprecio por querer hacer un bien?’
16De esta manera, los últimos serán los primeros, y los primeros serán los últimos”.
17Cuando iba de camino hacia Jerusalén, Jesús llevó consigo a los doce discípulos aparte mientras caminaban y les dijo:
18“Miren, vamos hacia Jerusalén, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros religiosos. Ellos lo condenarán a muerte
19y lo entregarán a los gentiles para que se burlen de él, lo azoten y lo crucifiquen. Pero el tercer día será levantado de entre los muertos”.
20Entonces la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo vino a Jesús con sus dos hijos. Se arrodilló delante de él para hacerle una petición.
21“¿Qué es lo que me pides?” le dijo Jesús. “Por favor, aparta a mis hijos para que se sienten a tu lado en tu reino, uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda”, le pidió ella.
22“No sabes lo que estás pidiendo”, le dijo Jesús. “¿Pueden ustedes beber la copa que yo estoy a punto de beber?” . “Sí podemos”, le dijeron.
23“Sin duda alguna ustedes beberán de mi copa”, les dijo, “pero el privilegio de sentarse a mi derecha y a mi izquierda no me corresponde darlo a mi. Mi Padre es el que decide quién será”.
24Cuando los otros diez discípulos escucharon lo que ellos habían pedido, se molestaron con los dos hermanos.
25Jesús los llamó y les dijo: “Ustedes saben que los gobernantes extranjeros se enseñorean sobre sus pueblos, y los líderes poderosos los oprimen.
26No será así para ustedes. Cualquiera entre ustedes que quiera ser el más importante, será siervo de todos.
27Cualquiera entre ustedes que quiera ser el primero, será como un esclavo.
28De la misma manera, el Hijo del hombre no vino a que le sirvan, sino a servir, y a dar su vida como rescate para muchos”.
29Cuando se fueron de Jericó, una gran multitud siguió a Jesús.
30Dos hombres ciegos estaban sentados junto al camino. Y cuando escucharon que Jesús iba pasando por allí, clamaron: “¡Ten misericordia de nosotros, Señor, hijo de David!”
31Y la multitud les decía que se callaran, pero ellos gritaban aún más fuerte: “¡Ten misericordia de nosotros, Señor, hijo de David!”
32Entonces Jesús se detuvo. Los llamó, preguntándoles: “¿Qué quieren que haga por ustedes?”
33“Señor, por favor, haz que podamos ver”, respondieron ellos.
34Jesús tuvo compasión de ellos y tocó sus ojos. Ellos pudieron ver de inmediato, y le siguieron.

1PORQUE el reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre, padre de familia, que salió por la mañana á ajustar obreros para su viña.
2Y habiéndose concertado con los obreros en un denario al día, los envió á su viña.
3Y saliendo cerca de la hora de las tres, vió otros que estaban en la plaza ociosos;
4Y les dijo: Id también vosotros á mi viña, y os daré lo que fuere justo. Y ellos fueron.
5Salió otra vez cerca de las horas sexta y nona, é hizo lo mismo.
6Y saliendo cerca de la hora undécima, halló otros que estaban ociosos; y díceles: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día ociosos?
7Dícenle: Porque nadie nos ha ajustado. Díceles: Id también vosotros á la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.
8Y cuando fué la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo á su mayordomo: Llama á los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.
9Y viniendo los que habían ido cerca de la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.
10Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.
11Y tomándolo, murmuraban contra el padre de la familia,
12Diciendo: Estos postreros sólo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales á nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga y el calor del día.
13Y él respondiendo, dijo á uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio; ¿no te concertaste conmigo por un denario?
14Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete; mas quiero dar á este postrero, como á ti.
15¿No me es lícito á mí hacer lo que quiero con lo mío? ó ¿es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?
16Así los primeros serán postreros, y los postreros primeros: porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.
17Y subiendo Jesús á Jerusalem, tomó sus doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:
18He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los escribas, y le condenarán á muerte;
19Y le entregarán á los Gentiles para que le escarnezcan, y azoten, y crucifiquen; mas al tercer día resucitará.
20Entonces se llegó á él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, adorándole, y pidiéndole algo.
21Y él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Di que se sienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno á tu mano derecha, y el otro á tu izquierda, en tu reino.
22Entonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís: ¿podéis beber el vaso que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado? Y ellos le dicen: Podemos.
23Y él les dice: A la verdad mi vaso beberéis, y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; mas el sentaros á mi mano derecha y á mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino á aquellos para quienes está aparejado de mi Padre.
24Y como los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron de los dos hermanos.
25Entonces Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Sabéis que los príncipes de los Gentiles se enseñorean sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen sobre ellos potestad.
26Mas entre vosotros no será así; sino el que quisiere entre vosotros hacerse grande, será vuestro servidor;
27Y el que quisiere entre vosotros ser el primero, será vuestro siervo:
28Como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
29Entonces saliendo ellos de Jericó, le seguía gran compañía.
30Y he aquí dos ciegos sentados junto al camino, como oyeron que Jesús pasaba, clamaron, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
31Y la gente les reñía para que callasen; mas ellos clamaban más, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.
32Y parándose Jesús, los llamó, y dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?
33Ellos le dicen: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.
34Entonces Jesús, teniendo misericordia de ellos, les tocó los ojos, y luego sus ojos recibieron la vista; y le siguieron.

1For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
8So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
14Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
17And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,
18Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
21And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
29And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

1“For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
2When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3He went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.
4He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went their way.
5Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.
6About the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle. He said to them, ‘Why do you stand here all day idle?’
7“They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ “He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’
8“When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’
9“When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.
10When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius.
11When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,
12saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’
13“But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?
14Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you.
15Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’
16So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”
17As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them,
18“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,
19and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”
20Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.
21He said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom.”
22But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him, “We are able.”
23He said to them, “You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give, but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
24When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.
25But Jesus summoned them, and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
26It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
27Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,
28even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
29As they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”
31The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, “Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!”
32Jesus stood still and called them, and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?”
33They told him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”
34Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.
