Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

Pero ellos no prestaron atención, y se dedicaron a sus asuntos, uno a su granja, y otro a su oficio.

Entonces dijo a sus siervos: La fiesta está lista, pero los invitados no fueron dignos.

Vayan a las calles principales, y haz que todos los que veas vengan a la fiesta de la novia.
Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Y aquellos siervos salieron a las calles, y juntaron a todos los que se encontraron, malos y buenos; y la fiesta estaba llena de invitados.

And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Entonces el rey dijo a los sirvientes: atenlo con cuerdas alrededor de sus manos y pies, y échenlo fuera en la oscuridad; allí será el llanto y crujir de dientes.

Entonces los fariseos fueron y tuvieron una reunión para ver cómo podrían usar sus palabras para atraparlo.

Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

Danos, entonces, tu opinión sobre esto: ¿es correcto dar impuestos a César, o no?

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Pero Jesús vio su truco y dijo: Oh, hipócritas, ¿por qué tratan de ponerme en el error?
Mas Jesús, entendida la malicia de ellos, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Déjame ver el dinero de los impuestos. Y ellos le dieron un centavo.

Y él les dijo: ¿De quién es esta imagen y nombre?
Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?

He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
Le dijeron: de César. Entonces él les dijo: Da pues a César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.
They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
Al oírlo, se maravillaron y se alejaron de él.
Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron; y dejándole se fueron.
When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

En el mismo día vinieron a él los saduceos, que dicen que no hay resurrección, y le hicieron una pregunta, diciendo:

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si un hombre, en el momento de su muerte no tiene hijos, deje que su hermano se lleve a su esposa y darle una familia para su hermano;
Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.
Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
Y había entre nosotros siete hermanos; y el primero estaba casado y, al morir, sin descendencia, dio su esposa a su hermano;
Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.
Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

Del mismo modo, el segundo y el tercero, hasta el séptimo.

Pero Jesús les dijo a ellos en respuesta: Están en error, no teniendo conocimiento de las Escrituras, o del poder de Dios.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Porque en la resurrección, ni se casarán, ni se darán en casamiento, sino que son como los ángeles en el cielo.
Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Pero sobre la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no saben lo que Dios les dijo en las Escrituras:

Y la gente que lo escuchaba se sorprendió de su enseñanza.
Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.
And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

Pero los fariseos, oyendo cómo había hecho callar las bocas de los saduceos, se juntaron a una;
Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
Y uno de ellos, un maestro de la ley, le hizo una pregunta, lo puso a prueba y le dijo:
Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
Maestro, ¿cuál es la regla principal en la ley?
Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
Y le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente.
Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
Esta es la primera y más grande regla.

Y un segundo es semejante: Ten amor por tu prójimo como por ti mismo.

En estas dos reglas se basan toda la ley y los profetas.
De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
Mientras los fariseos estaban juntos, Jesús les hizo una pregunta, diciendo:
Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,

¿Cuál es tu opinión del Cristo? ¿De quién es hijo? Ellos le dicen: El Hijo de David.
Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
Les dice: ¿Cómo, pues, David en el Espíritu le puso el nombre de Señor, diciendo:

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra, hasta que yo ponga debajo de tus pies a todos los que están contra ti?
Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?
Si David le da el nombre de Señor, ¿cómo es él su hijo?
Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
Y nadie fue capaz de darle una respuesta, y tan grande era su temor de él, que desde ese día nadie le hizo más preguntas.
Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
