1Und Jesus antwortete und redete wiederum in Gleichnissen zu ihnen und sprach:
2Das Reich der Himmel ist einem Könige gleich geworden, der seinem Sohne Hochzeit machte.
3Und er sandte seine Knechte aus, um die Geladenen zur Hochzeit zu rufen; und sie wollten nicht kommen.
4Wiederum sandte er andere Knechte aus und sprach: Saget den Geladenen: Siehe, mein Mahl habe ich bereitet, meine Ochsen und mein Mastvieh sind geschlachtet, und alles ist bereit; kommt zur Hochzeit.
5Sie aber achteten es nicht und gingen hin, der eine auf seinen Acker, der andere an seinen Handel.
6Die übrigen aber ergriffen seine Knechte, mißhandelten und töteten sie.
7Der König aber ward zornig und sandte seine Heere aus, brachte jene Mörder um und steckte ihre Stadt in Brand.
8Dann sagt er zu seinen Knechten: die Hochzeit ist zwar bereit, aber die Geladenen waren nicht würdig;
9so gehet nun hin auf die Kreuzwege der Landstraßen, und so viele immer ihr finden werdet, ladet zur Hochzeit.
10Und jene Knechte gingen aus auf die Landstraßen und brachten alle zusammen, so viele sie fanden, sowohl Böse als Gute. Und die Hochzeit wurde voll von Gästen.
11Als aber der König hereinkam, die Gäste zu besehen, sah er daselbst einen Menschen, der nicht mit einem Hochzeitskleide bekleidet war.
12Und er spricht zu ihm: Freund, wie bist du hier hereingekommen, da du kein Hochzeitskleid anhast? Er aber verstummte.
13Da sprach der König zu den Dienern: Bindet ihm Füße und Hände, [nehmet ihn] und werfet ihn hinaus in die äußere Finsternis: da wird sein das Weinen und das Zähneknirschen.
14Denn viele sind Berufene, wenige aber Auserwählte.
15Dann gingen die Pharisäer hin und hielten Rat, wie sie ihn in der Rede in eine Falle lockten.
16Und sie senden ihre Jünger mit den Herodianern zu ihm und sagen: Lehrer, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und den Weg Gottes in Wahrheit lehrst und dich um niemand kümmerst, denn du siehst nicht auf die Person der Menschen; sage uns nun, was denkst du:
17Ist es erlaubt, dem Kaiser Steuer zu geben, oder nicht?
18Da aber Jesus ihre Bosheit erkannte, sprach er: Was versuchet ihr mich, Heuchler?
19Zeiget mir die Steuermünze. Sie aber überreichten ihm einen Denar.
20Und er spricht zu ihnen: Wessen ist dieses Bild und die Überschrift?
21Sie sagen zu ihm: Des Kaisers. Da spricht er zu ihnen: Gebet denn dem Kaiser, was des Kaisers ist, und Gott, was Gottes ist.
22Und als sie das hörten, verwunderten sie sich und ließen ihn und gingen hinweg.
23An jenem Tage kamen Sadducäer zu ihm, die da sagen, es gebe keine Auferstehung;
24und sie fragten ihn und sprachen: Lehrer, Moses hat gesagt: Wenn jemand stirbt und keine Kinder hat, so soll sein Bruder sein Weib heiraten und soll seinem Bruder Samen erwecken.
25Es waren aber bei uns sieben Brüder. Und der erste verheiratete sich und starb; und weil er keinen Samen hatte, hinterließ er sein Weib seinem Bruder.
26Gleicherweise auch der zweite und der dritte, bis auf den siebten.
27Zuletzt aber von allen starb auch das Weib.
28In der Auferstehung nun, wessen Weib von den sieben wird sie sein? Denn alle hatten sie.
29Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr irret, indem ihr die Schriften nicht kennet, noch die Kraft Gottes;
30denn in der Auferstehung heiraten sie nicht, noch werden sie verheiratet, sondern sie sind wie Engel Gottes im Himmel.
31Was aber die Auferstehung der Toten betrifft, habt ihr nicht gelesen, was zu euch geredet ist von Gott, der da spricht:
32“Ich bin der Gott Abrahams und der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs”? Gott ist nicht ein Gott der Toten, sondern der Lebendigen.
33Und als die Volksmengen es hörten, erstaunten sie über seine Lehre.
34Als aber die Pharisäer hörten, daß er die Sadducäer zum Schweigen gebracht hatte, versammelten sie sich miteinander.
35Und es fragte einer aus ihnen, ein Gesetzgelehrter, und versuchte ihn und sprach:
36Lehrer, welches ist das große Gebot in dem Gesetz?
37Er aber sprach zu ihm: “Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben mit deinem ganzen Herzen und mit deiner ganzen Seele und mit deinem ganzen Verstande”.
38Dieses ist das große und erste Gebot.
39Das zweite aber, ihm gleiche, ist: “Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst”.
40An diesen zwei Geboten hängt das ganze Gesetz und die Propheten.
41Als aber die Pharisäer versammelt waren, fragte sie Jesus und sagte:
42Was dünkt euch von dem Christus? Wessen Sohn ist er? Sie sagen zu ihm: Davids.
43Er spricht zu ihnen: Wie nennt David ihn denn im Geiste Herr, indem er sagt:
44“Der Herr sprach zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis ich deine Feinde lege unter deine Füße”?
45Wenn nun David ihn Herr nennt, wie ist er sein Sohn?
46Und niemand konnte ihm ein Wort antworten, noch wagte jemand von dem Tage an, ihn ferner zu befragen.

1Y RESPONDIENDO Jesús, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:
2El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo;
3Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.
4Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está prevenido: venid á las bodas.
5Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron, uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;
6Y otros, tomando á sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.
7Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.
8Entonces dice á sus siervos: Las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.
9Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.
10Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos: y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.
11Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vió allí un hombre no vestido de boda.
12Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.
13Entonces el rey dijo á los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.
14Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.
15Entonces, idos los Fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.
16Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.
17Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?
18Mas Jesús, entendida la malicia de ellos, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?
19Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.
20Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?
21Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.
22Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron; y dejándole se fueron.
23Aquel día llegaron á él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,
24Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.
25Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.
26De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.
27Y después de todos murió también la mujer.
28En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.
29Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.
30Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.
31Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:
32Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.
33Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.
34Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.
35Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:
36Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?
37Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.
38Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.
39Y el segundo es semejante á éste: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
40De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.
41Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,
42Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.
43El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:
44Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?
45Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?
46Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.

1And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14For many are called, but few are chosen.
15Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
22When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27And last of all the woman died also.
28Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
43He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

2“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,
3and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
4Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’
5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
6and the rest grabbed his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.
9Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’
10Those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
11“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
12and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
13Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
14For many are called, but few chosen.”
15Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
16They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.
17Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
19Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.
20He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
21They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
22When they heard it, they marveled, and left him and went away.
23On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
25Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
26In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
27After them all, the woman died.
28In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
29But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
31But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
32‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

34But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
35One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
37Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38This is the first and great commandment.
39A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,
42saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
43He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
44‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?
45“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
46No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
