Mateo 22

Jesus contou diversas parábolas para mostrar com o que se parece o Reino dos céus, dizendo:

Y RESPONDIENDO Jesús, les volvió á hablar en parábolas, diciendo:

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

“O Reino dos céus pode ser ilustrado com a história de um rei que preparou um grande banquete de casamento para o seu filho.

El reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre rey, que hizo bodas á su hijo;

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,

Muitas pessoas foram convidadas pelos seus servos, e quando o banquete estava pronto, ele mandou mensageiros para avisar a cada um que estava na hora de ir. Mas todos recusaram o convite!

Y envió sus siervos para que llamasen los llamados á las bodas; mas no quisieron venir.

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

“Então mandou outros criados e disse: ‘Digam aos convidados que preparei o banquete: meus bois e meus novilhos gordos foram abatidos, e tudo está pronto. Venham depressa para o banquete do casamento!’

Volvió á enviar otros siervos, diciendo: Decid á los llamados: He aquí, mi comida he aparejado; mis toros y animales engordados son muertos, y todo está prevenido: venid á las bodas.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’

“Mas os que ele havia convidado não lhes deram atenção e foram tratar dos seus negócios, um para a sua fazenda, outro para o seu armazém;

Mas ellos no se cuidaron, y se fueron, uno á su labranza, y otro á sus negocios;

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

outros bateram nos servos, os maltrataram e os mataram.

Y otros, tomando á sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron.

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

Então o rei, irado, mandou o seu exército, destruiu os assassinos e pôs fogo na cidade deles.

Y el rey, oyendo esto, se enojó; y enviando sus ejércitos, destruyó á aquellos homicidas, y puso fuego á su ciudad.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

“Então disse aos seus servos: ‘O banquete do casamento está pronto, mas os que eu convidei não são dignos dessa honra.

Entonces dice á sus siervos: Las bodas á la verdad están aparejadas; mas los que eran llamados no eran dignos.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

Saiam pelas esquinas e convidem todos os que vocês acharem’.

Id pues á las salidas de los caminos, y llamad á las bodas á cuantos hallareis.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’

Assim fizeram os servos; trouxeram todos os que puderam achar, tanto os bons como os maus; e o salão do banquete de casamento ficou cheio de convidados.

Y saliendo los siervos por los caminos, juntaron á todos los que hallaron, juntamente malos y buenos: y las bodas fueron llenas de convidados.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

“Mas quando o rei entrou para conhecer os convidados, notou um homem que não estava usando a roupa de casamento.

Y entró el rey para ver los convidados, y vió allí un hombre no vestido de boda.

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,

‘Amigo’, perguntou ele, ‘como é possível você estar aqui sem a roupa de casamento?’ E o homem não teve resposta.

Y le dijo: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí no teniendo vestido de boda? Mas él cerró la boca.

And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

“Então o rei disse aos seus auxiliares: ‘Amarrem suas mãos e pés, e joguem esse homem na escuridão, onde haverá choro e ranger de dentes’.

Entonces el rey dijo á los que servían: Atado de pies y de manos tomadle, y echadle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

“Porque muitos são chamados, mas poucos são escolhidos”.

Porque muchos son llamados, y pocos escogidos.

For many are called, but few are chosen.

Então os fariseus se reuniram para tentar achar um jeito de apanhar Jesus dizendo alguma coisa errada que servisse de motivo para o prenderem.

Entonces, idos los Fariseos, consultaron cómo le tomarían en alguna palabra.

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

Decidiram enviar alguns de seus discípulos juntamente com os herodianos para fazer-lhe esta pergunta: “Mestre, nós sabemos que o Senhor é sincero e íntegro e ensina o caminho de Deus conforme a verdade sem se preocupar com as influências e opinião dos outros e nem julga pela aparência.

Y envían á él los discípulos de ellos, con los Herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres amador de la verdad, y que enseñas con verdad el camino de Dios, y que no te curas de nadie, porque no tienes acepción de persona de hombres.

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.

Agora, diga-nos: Está certo pagarmos impostos a César ou não?”

Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no?

Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

Jesus, contudo, percebeu a má intenção deles e perguntou: “Seus hipócritas! A quem vocês estão querendo fazer de tolo com suas perguntas astutas?

Mas Jesús, entendida la malicia de ellos, les dice: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

Vamos, mostrem-me uma moeda usada para pagar impostos”. Eles puseram na mão dele uma moeda pequena.

Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario.

Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.

“De quem é o retrato desenhado nela?”, perguntou Jesus. “E de quem é este nome abaixo do retrato?”

Entonces les dice: ¿Cúya es esta figura, y lo que está encima escrito?

And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

“De César”, responderam. “Então”, disse ele, “deem a César o que é dele, e deem a Deus tudo quanto pertence a Deus”.

Dícenle: De César. Y díceles: Pagad pues á César lo que es de César, y á Dios lo que es de Dios.

They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

A resposta dele surpreendeu e confundiu a todos, e eles foram embora.

Y oyendo esto, se maravillaron; y dejándole se fueron.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

When they heard it, they marveled, and left him and went away.

Mas naquele mesmo dia alguns dos saduceus, que dizem que não há ressurreição, vieram a ele e perguntaram:

Aquel día llegaron á él los Saduceos, que dicen no haber resurrección, y le preguntaron,

The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

“Senhor, Moisés disse que se um homem morresse sem filhos, seu irmão deveria casar-se com a viúva e dar-lhe descendência.

Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muriere sin hijos, su hermano se casará con su mujer, y despertará simiente á su hermano.

Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’

Ora, tivemos entre nós uma família de sete irmãos. O primeiro destes homens casou-se e logo morreu, sem filhos, e assim sua viúva se tornou esposa do segundo irmão.

Fueron pues, entre nosotros siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió; y no teniendo generación, dejó su mujer á su hermano.

Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.

Esse irmão também morreu sem filhos, e a esposa passou para o irmão seguinte, e assim por diante, até que ela veio a ser esposa de todos eles.

De la misma manera también el segundo, y el tercero, hasta los siete.

Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

E depois ela também morreu.

Y después de todos murió también la mujer.

And last of all the woman died also.

After them all, the woman died.

Então, de quem ela será esposa na ressurreição, porque foi esposa de todos os sete?”

En la resurrección pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será ella mujer? porque todos la tuvieron.

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Jesus respondeu: “O erro de vocês é causado pela sua ignorância das Escrituras e do poder de Deus!

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Erráis ignorando las Escrituras, y el poder de Dios.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

Na ressurreição, as pessoas não se casam, nem são dadas em casamento; cada um será como os anjos do céu.

Porque en la resurrección, ni los hombres tomarán mujeres, ni las mujeres maridos; mas son como los ángeles de Dios en el cielo.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.

E quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, vocês nunca leram as Escrituras? Não compreendem o que Deus disse a vocês:

Y de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no habéis leído lo que os es dicho por Dios, que dice:

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

‘Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaque e o Deus de Jacó’? Ora, Deus não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos”.

Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos.

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

O povo estava muito impressionado com as suas respostas.

Y oyendo esto las gentes, estaban atónitas de su doctrina.

And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

Mas os fariseus, quando souberam que ele tinha derrotado os saduceus com sua resposta, pensaram numa nova pergunta para apresentar a ele.

Entonces los Fariseos, oyendo que había cerrado la boca á los Saduceos, se juntaron á una.

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

Um deles, um mestre da lei, o pôs à prova com a seguinte pergunta:

Y preguntó uno de ellos, intérprete de la ley, tentándole y diciendo:

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

“Mestre, qual é o mandamento mais importante da Lei de Moisés?”

Maestro, ¿cuál es el mandamiento grande en la ley?

Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

Jesus respondeu: “ ‘Ame ao Senhor seu Deus de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua mente e de toda a sua alma’.

Y Jesús le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Esse é o primeiro e maior mandamento.

Este es el primero y el grande mandamiento.

This is the first and great commandment.

E o segundo em importância é parecido: ‘Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo’.

Y el segundo es semejante á éste: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Toda a Lei e os Profetas dependem desses dois mandamentos”.

De estos dos mandamientos depende toda la ley y los profetas.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Então, rodeado pelos fariseus, ele fez uma pergunta a eles:

Y estando juntos los Fariseos, Jesús les preguntó,

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

“O que vocês pensam do Messias? De quem ele é filho?” “É filho de Davi”, responderam eles.

Diciendo: ¿Qué os parece del Cristo? ¿de quién es Hijo? Dícenle: De David.

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

“Então por que Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito Santo, chama-o de ‘Senhor’?”, perguntou Jesus. “Pois Davi disse:

El les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en Espíritu le llama Señor, diciendo:

He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

‘Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: Sente-se à minha direita, até que eu ponha os seus inimigos debaixo dos seus pés’.

Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, entre tanto que pongo tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies?

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?

“Visto que Davi chamou-o de ‘Senhor’, como pode ele ser filho de Davi?”

Pues si David le llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo?

If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

Eles não puderam responder mais nada. E depois disso ninguém mais tinha coragem de fazer alguma nova pergunta.

Y nadie le podía responder palabra; ni osó alguno desde aquel día preguntarle más.

And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
