Mateo 26

ED avvenne che, quando Gesù ebbe finiti tutti questi ragionamenti, disse a' suoi discepoli:

Y ACONTECIÓ que, como hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo á sus discípulos:

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

Voi sapete che fra due giorni è la pasqua; e il Figliuol dell'uomo sarà dato in mano del magistrato, per essere crocifisso.

Sabéis que dentro de dos días se hace la pascua, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado para ser crucificado.

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

Allora si raunarono i principali sacerdoti, e gli Scribi, e gli anziani del popolo, nella corte del sommo sacerdote, detto Caiafa;

Entonces los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron al patio del pontífice, el cual se llamaba Caifás;

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

e presero insieme consiglio di pigliar Gesù con inganno, e di farlo morire.

Y tuvieron consejo para prender por engaño á Jesús, y matarle.

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him.

Ma dicevano: Non convien farlo nella festa; acciocchè non si faccia tumulto fra il popolo.

Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto en el pueblo.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people.”

ORA, essendo Gesù in Betania, in casa di Simone lebbroso,

Y estando Jesús en Bethania, en casa de Simón el leproso,

era venuta a lui una donna, avendo un alberello d'olio odorifero di gran prezzo; ed ella l'avea sparso sopra il capo di Cristo, mentre era a tavola.

Vino á él una mujer, teniendo un vaso de alabastro de ungüento de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado á la mesa.

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.

E i suoi discepoli, avendo ciò veduto, furono indegnati, dicendo: A che far questa perdita?

Lo cual viendo sus discípulos, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué se pierde esto?

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?

Poichè quest'olio si sarebbe potuto vendere un gran prezzo, e quello darsi a' poveri.

Porque esto se podía vender por gran precio, y darse á los pobres.

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

Ma Gesù, conosciuto ciò, disse loro: Perchè date voi noia a questa donna? poichè ella ha fatta una buona opera inverso me.

Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué dais pena á esta mujer? pues ha hecho conmigo buena obra.

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.

Perciocchè sempre avete i poveri con voi; ma me non mi avete sempre.

Porque siempre tendréis pobres con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.

Poichè costei, versando quest'olio sopra il mio corpo, l'ha fatto per imbalsamarmi.

Porque echando este ungüento sobre mi cuerpo, para sepultarme lo ha hecho.

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

Io vi dico in verità, che dovunque sarà predicato quest'evangelo, in tutto il mondo, si racconterà eziandio ciò che costei ha fatto, in memoria di lei.

De cierto os digo, que donde quiera que este evangelio fuere predicado en todo el mundo, también será dicho para memoria de ella, lo que ésta ha hecho.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”

ALLORA uno de' dodici, detto Giuda Iscariot, andò a' principali sacerdoti, e disse loro:

Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fué á los príncipes de los sacerdotes,

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

Che mi volete dare, ed io ve lo darò nelle mani? Ed essi gli pesarono trenta sicli d'argento.

Y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os lo entregaré? Y ellos le señalaron treinta piezas de plata.

And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

E da quell'ora egli cercava opportunità di tradirlo.

Y desde entonces buscaba oportunidad para entregarle.

And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

OR nel primo giorno degli azzimi, i discepoli vennero a Gesù, dicendogli: Ove vuoi che noi ti apparecchiamo da mangiar la pasqua?

Y el primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos á Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que aderecemos para ti para comer la pascua?

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

Ed egli disse: Andate nella città ad un tale, e ditegli: Il Maestro dice: Il mio tempo è vicino; io farò la pasqua in casa tua, coi miei discepoli.

Y él dijo: Id á la ciudad á cierto hombre, y decidle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca; en tu casa haré la pascua con mis discípulos.

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”

E i discepoli fecero come Gesù avea loro ordinato, ed apparecchiarono la pasqua.

Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y aderezaron la pascua.

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.

E quando fu sera, egli si mise a tavola co' dodici.

Y como fué la tarde del día, se sentó á la mesa con los doce.

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.

E mentre mangiavano, disse: Io vi dico in verità, che un di voi mi tradirà.

Y comiendo ellos, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

Ed essendone eglino grandemente attristati, ciascun di loro prese a dirgli: Son io desso, Signore?

Y entristecidos ellos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos á decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”

Ed egli, rispondendo, disse: Colui che intinge con la mano meco nel piatto mi tradirà.

Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ése me ha de entregar.

And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.

Il Figliuol dell'uomo certo se ne va, secondo ch'è scritto di lui; ma, guai a quell'uomo per lo quale il Figliuol dell'uomo è tradito! meglio sarebbe stato per lui di non esser mai nato.

A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está escrito de él; mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera al tal hombre no haber nacido.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

E Giuda che lo tradiva prese a dire: Maestro, son io desso? Egli gli disse: Tu l'hai detto.

Entonces respondiendo Judas, que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Dícele: Tú lo has dicho.

Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”

Ora, mentre mangiavano, Gesù, preso il pane, e fatta la benedizione, lo ruppe, e lo diede a' discepoli, e disse: Prendete, mangiate; quest'è il mio corpo.

Y comiendo ellos, tomó Jesús el pan, y bendijo, y lo partió, y dió á sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomad, comed: esto es mi cuerpo.

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”

Poi, preso il calice, e rendute le grazie, lo diede loro, dicendo: Bevetene tutti.

Y tomando el vaso, y hechas gracias, les dió, diciendo: Bebed de él todos;

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,

Perciocchè quest'è il mio sangue, ch'è il sangue del nuovo patto, il quale è sparso per molti, in remission de' peccati.

Porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, la cual es derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

Or io vi dico, che da ora io non berrò più di questo frutto della vigna, fino a quel giorno che io lo berrò nuovo con voi nel regno del Padre mio.

Y os digo, que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día, cuando lo tengo de beber nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

E DOPO ch'ebbero cantato l'inno, se ne uscirono al monte degli Ulivi.

Y habiendo cantado el himno, salieron al monte de las Olivas.

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Allora Gesù disse loro: Voi tutti sarete scandalezzati in me questa notte; perciocchè egli è scritto: Io percoterò il Pastore, e le pecore della greggia saranno disperse.

Entonces Jesús les dice: Todos vosotros seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al Pastor, y las ovejas de la manada serán dispersas.

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Ma, dopo che io sarò risuscitato, andrò dinanzi a voi in Galilea.

Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”

Ma Pietro, rispondendo, gli disse: Avvegnachè tutti sieno scandalezzati in te, io non sarò giammai scandalezzato.

Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados en ti, yo nunca seré escandalizado.

Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”

Gesù gli disse: Io ti dico in verità, che questa stessa notte, innanzi che il gallo canti, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte.

Jesús le dice: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

Pietro gli disse: Benchè mi convenisse morir teco, non però ti rinnegherò. Il simigliante dissero eziandio tutti i discepoli.

Dícele Pedro: Aunque me sea menester morir contigo, no te negaré. Y todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo.

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.

ALLORA Gesù venne con loro in una villa, detta Ghetsemane, e disse a' discepoli: Sedete qui, finchè io sia andato là, ed abbia orato.

Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos á la aldea que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, hasta que vaya allí y ore.

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”

E preso seco Pietro, e i due figliuoli di Zebedeo, cominciò ad esser contristato, e gravemente angosciato.

Y tomando á Pedro, y á los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó á entristecerse y á angustiarse en gran manera.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

Allora egli disse loro: L'anima mia è occupata di tristizia infino alla morte; dimorate qui, e vegliate meco.

Entonces Jesús les dice: Mi alma está muy triste hasta la muerte; quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo.

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”

E andato un poco innanzi, si gettò sopra la sua faccia, orando, e dicendo: Padre mio, se egli è possibile, trapassi da me questo calice; ma pure, non come io voglio, ma come tu vuoi.

Y yéndose un poco más adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando, y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí este vaso; empero no como yo quiero, sino como tú.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

Poi venne a' discepoli, e li trovò che dormivano, e disse a Pietro: Così non avete potuto vegliar pure un'ora meco?

Y vino á sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo á Pedro: ¿Así no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?

Vegliate, ed orate, che non entriate in tentazione; perciocchè lo spirito è pronto, ma la carne è debole.

Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad está presto, mas la carne enferma.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Di nuovo, la seconda volta, egli andò, ed orò, dicendo: Padre mio, se egli non è possibile che questo calice trapassi da me, che io nol beva, la tua volontà sia fatta.

Otra vez fué, segunda vez, y oró diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede este vaso pasar de mí sin que yo lo beba, hágase tu voluntad.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”

Poi, essendo di nuovo venuto, li trovò che dormivano; perciocchè i loro occhi erano aggravati.

Y vino, y los halló otra vez durmiendo; porque los ojos de ellos estaban agravados.

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

E, lasciatili, andò di nuovo, ed orò la terza volta, dicendo le medesime parole.

Y dejándolos fuése de nuevo, y oró tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras.

And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

Allora egli venne a' suoi discepoli, e disse loro: Dormite pure da ora innanzi, e riposatevi; ecco, l'ora è giunta, e il Figliuol dell'uomo è dato nelle mani dei peccatori.

Entonces vino á sus discípulos y díceles: Dormid ya, y descansad: he aquí ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores.

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Levatevi, andiamo; ecco, colui che mi tradisce è vicino.

Levantaos, vamos: he aquí ha llegado el que me ha entregado.

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

E MENTRE egli parlava ancora, ecco, Giuda, uno de' dodici, venne, e con lui un grande stuolo, con ispade, ed aste, mandato da' principali sacerdoti, e dagli anziani del popolo.

Y hablando aún él, he aquí Judas, uno de los doce, vino, y con él mucha gente con espadas y con palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los ancianos del pueblo.

And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

Or colui che lo tradiva avea loro dato un segnale, dicendo: Colui il quale io avrò baciato è desso; pigliatelo.

Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle.

Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”

E in quello stante, accostatosi a Gesù, gli disse: Bene stii, Maestro; e baciollo.

Y luego que llegó á Jesús, dijo: Salve, Maestro. Y le besó.

And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

Immediately he came to Jesus, and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.

E Gesù gli disse: Amico, a che far sei tu qui? Allora coloro, accostatisi a Gesù, gli posero le mani addosso, e lo presero.

Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, ¿á qué vienes? Entonces llegaron, y echaron mano á Jesús, y le prendieron.

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Jesus said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Ed ecco, un di coloro ch' erano con Gesù, distesa la mano, trasse fuori la spada, e percosse il servitore del sommo sacerdote, e gli spiccò l'orecchio.

Y he aquí, uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, é hiriendo á un siervo del pontífice, le quitó la oreja.

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.

Behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Allora Gesù gli disse: Riponi la tua spada nel suo luogo; perciocchè tutti coloro che avranno presa la spada, periranno per la spada.

Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve tu espada á su lugar; porque todos los que tomaren espada, á espada perecerán.

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.

Pensi tu forse che io non potessi ora pregare il Padre mio, il qual mi manderebbe subito più di dodici legioni d'angeli?

¿Acaso piensas que no puedo ahora orar á mi Padre, y él me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles?

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

Come dunque sarebbero adempiute le Scritture, le quali dicono che conviene che così avvenga?

¿Cómo, pues, se cumplirían las Escrituras, que así conviene que sea hecho?

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”

In quella stessa ora Gesù disse alle turbe: Voi siete usciti con ispade e con aste, come contro a un ladrone, per prendermi; io tuttodì sedeva appresso di voi, insegnando nel tempio; e voi non mi avete preso.

En aquella hora dijo Jesús á las gentes: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á prenderme? Cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis.

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.

Ma tutto ciò è avvenuto, acciocchè le Scritture de' profeti fossero adempiute. Allora tutti i discepoli, lasciatolo, se ne fuggirono.

Mas todo esto se hace, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos huyeron, dejándole.

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

OR coloro che aveano preso Gesù lo menarono a Caiafa, sommo sacerdote, ove gli Scribi e gli anziani erano raunati.

Y ellos, prendido Jesús, le llevaron á Caifás pontífice, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban juntos.

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.

E Pietro lo seguitava da lungi infino alla corte del sommo sacerdote; ed entrato dentro, si pose a seder co' sergenti, per veder la fine.

Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del pontífice; y entrando dentro, estábase sentado con los criados, para ver el fin.

But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

But Peter followed him from a distance to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.

Or i principali sacerdoti, e gli anziani, e tutto il concistoro, cercavano qualche falsa testimonianza contro a Gesù, per farlo morire;

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos, y todo el consejo, buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle á la muerte;

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death,

ma non ne trovarono alcuna; eziandio dopo che molti falsi testimoni si furono fatti avanti, non ne trovavano però, alcuna; ma, alla fine, vennero due falsi testimoni;

Y no lo hallaron, aunque muchos testigos falsos se llegaban; mas á la postre vinieron dos testigos falsos,

But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward

i quali dissero: Costui ha detto: Io posso disfare il tempio di Dio, e infra tre giorni riedificarlo.

Que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y en tres días reedificarlo.

And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”

Allora il sommo sacerdote, levatosi, gli disse: Non rispondi tu nulla? che testimoniano costoro contro a te?

Y levantándose el pontífice, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿qué testifican éstos contra ti?

And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”

Ma Gesù taceva. E il sommo sacerdote replicò, e gli disse: Io ti scongiuro per l'Iddio vivente, che tu ci dica se tu sei il Cristo, il Figliuol di Dio.

Mas Jesús callaba. Respondiendo el pontífice, le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas si eres tú el Cristo, Hijo de Dios.

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Gesù gli disse: Tu l'hai detto. Anzi io vi dico, che da ora innanzi voi vedrete il Figliuol dell'uomo sedere alla destra della Potenza, e venir sopra le nuvole del cielo.

Jesús le dijo: Tú lo has dicho: y aun os digo, que desde ahora habéis de ver al Hijo del hombre sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y que viene en las nubes del cielo.

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Jesus said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”

Allora il sommo sacerdote stracciò i suoi vestimenti, dicendo: Egli ha bestemmiato; che abbiamo noi più bisogno di testimoni? ecco, ora voi avete udita la sua bestemmia.

Entonces el pontífice rasgó sus vestidos, diciendo: Blasfemado ha: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora habéis oído su blasfemia.

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.

Che vi par egli? Ed essi, rispondendo, dissero: Egli è reo di morte.

¿Qué os parece? Y respondiendo ellos, dijeron: Culpado es de muerte.

What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”

Allora gli sputarono nel viso, e gli diedero delle guanciate; ed altri gli diedero delle bacchettate,

Entonces le escupieron en el rostro, y le dieron de bofetadas; y otros le herían con mojicones,

Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,

dicendo: O Cristo, indovinaci chi ti ha percosso.

Diciendo: Profetízanos tú, Cristo, quién es el que te ha herido.

Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”

OR Pietro sedeva di fuori nella corte; ed una fanticella si accostò a lui, dicendo: Anche tu eri con Gesù il Galileo.

Y Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el patio: y se llegó á él una criada, diciendo: Y tú con Jesús el Galileo estabas.

Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!”

Ma egli lo negò davanti a tutti, dicendo: Io non so ciò che tu ti dici.

Mas él negó delante de todos, diciendo: No sé lo que dices.

But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

E, come egli fu uscito fuori all'antiporto, un'altra lo vide, e disse a coloro ch' erano quivi: Anche costui era con Gesù il Nazareo.

Y saliendo él á la puerta, le vió otra, y dijo á los que estaban allí: También éste estaba con Jesús Nazareno.

And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

Ma egli di nuovo lo negò con giuramento, dicendo: Io non conosco quell'uomo.

Y negó otra vez con juramento: No conozco al hombre.

And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”

E poco appresso, quelli ch'erano presenti, accostatisi, dissero a Pietro: Di vero anche tu sei di quelli; perciocchè la tua favella ti fa manifesto.

Y un poco después llegaron los que estaban por allí, y dijeron á Pedro: Verdaderamente también tú eres de ellos, porque aun tu habla te hace manifiesto.

And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”

Allora egli cominciò a maledirsi, ed a giurare, dicendo: Io non conosco quell'uomo. E in quello stante il gallo cantò.

Entonces comenzó á hacer imprecaciones, y á jurar, diciendo: No conozco al hombre. Y el gallo cantó luego.

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.

Allora Pietro si ricordò della parola di Gesù, il quale gli avea detto: Innanzi che il gallo canti, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte. Ed egli uscì, e pianse amaramente.

Y se acordó Pedro de las palabras de Jesús, que le dijo: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliéndose fuera, lloró amargamente.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Then he went out and wept bitterly.
