Mateo 26

Y sucedió que después de haber concluido Jesús todos estos razonamientos, dijo a sus discípulos:

Y ACONTECIÓ que, como hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo á sus discípulos:

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

Bien sabéis que de aquí a dos días debe celebrarse la Pascua , y que el Hijo del hombre será entregado a muerte de cruz.

Sabéis que dentro de dos días se hace la pascua, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado para ser crucificado.

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

Al mismo tiempo se juntaron los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los magistrados del pueblo en el palacio del sumo sacerdote, que se llamaba Caifás;

Entonces los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron al patio del pontífice, el cual se llamaba Caifás;

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

y tuvieron consejo para hallar medio cómo apoderarse con maña de Jesús , y hacerle morir.

Y tuvieron consejo para prender por engaño á Jesús, y matarle.

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him.

Y de miedo de que se alborotara el pueblo, decían: No conviene que se haga esto durante la fiesta.

Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto en el pueblo.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people.”

Estando Jesús en Betania, en casa de Simón el leproso,

se acercó a él una mujer con un vaso de alabastro, lleno de perfume o ungüento de gran precio, y le derramó sobre la cabeza de Jesús , el cual estaba a la mesa.

Vino á él una mujer, teniendo un vaso de alabastro de ungüento de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado á la mesa.

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

Algunos de los discípulos, al ver esto, lo tomaron a mal, diciendo: ¿A qué fin ese desperdicio,

Lo cual viendo sus discípulos, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué se pierde esto?

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?

cuando se pudo vender esto en mucho precio, y darse a los pobres?

Porque esto se podía vender por gran precio, y darse á los pobres.

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

Lo cual oyendo Jesús , les dijo: ¿Por qué molestáis a esta mujer, y reprobáis lo que hace, siendo buena, como es, la obra que ha hecho conmigo?

Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué dais pena á esta mujer? pues ha hecho conmigo buena obra.

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.

Pues a los pobres los tenéis siempre a mano; mas a mí no me tenéis siempre.

Porque siempre tendréis pobres con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tendréis.

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.

Y derramando ella sobre mi cuerpo este bálsamo lo ha hecho para disponer de antemano mi sepultura.

Porque echando este ungüento sobre mi cuerpo, para sepultarme lo ha hecho.

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

En verdad os digo, que doquiera que se predique este mensaje de salvación, que lo será en todo el mundo, se celebrará también en memoria suya lo que acaba de hacer.

De cierto os digo, que donde quiera que este evangelio fuere predicado en todo el mundo, también será dicho para memoria de ella, lo que ésta ha hecho.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”

Entonces Judas Iscariote, uno de los doce, fue a verse con los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y les dijo:

Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fué á los príncipes de los sacerdotes,

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

¿Qué queréis darme, y yo le pondré en vuestras manos? Y convinieron con él en treinta monedas de plata.

Y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os lo entregaré? Y ellos le señalaron treinta piezas de plata.

And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

Y desde entonces andaba buscando el momento favorable para hacer la traición.

El primer día de los ázimos, acudieron los discípulos a Jesús y le preguntaron: ¿Dónde quieres que te dispongamos la cena de la Pascua ?

Y el primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos á Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que aderecemos para ti para comer la pascua?

Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

Jesús les respondió: Id a la ciudad en casa de tal persona, y dadle este recado: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo se acerca; voy a celebrar en tu casa la Pascua con mis discípulos.

Y él dijo: Id á la ciudad á cierto hombre, y decidle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca; en tu casa haré la pascua con mis discípulos.

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”

Hicieron, pues, los discípulos lo que Jesús les ordenó, y prepararon lo necesario para la Pascua .

Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y aderezaron la pascua.

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.

Al caer de la tarde, se puso a la mesa con sus doce discípulos.

Y como fué la tarde del día, se sentó á la mesa con los doce.

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.

Y mientras comían dijo: En verdad os digo que uno de vosotros me hará traición.

Y comiendo ellos, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

Y ellos, afligidos sobremanera, empezaron cada uno a preguntar: ¡Señor!, ¿soy acaso yo?

Y entristecidos ellos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos á decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”

Y él en respuesta dijo: El que mete conmigo su mano en el plato para mojar el pan, ése es el traidor.

Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ése me ha de entregar.

And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.

En cuanto al Hijo del hombre, él se marcha, conforme está escrito de él; pero ¡ay de aquel por quien el Hijo del hombre será entregado; mejor le fuera si no hubiese jamás nacido!

A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está escrito de él; mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera al tal hombre no haber nacido.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

Y tomando la palabra Judas, que era el que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy quizá yo, Maestro? Y le respondió Jesús : Tú lo has dicho.

Entonces respondiendo Judas, que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Dícele: Tú lo has dicho.

Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”

Mientras estaban cenando, tomó Jesús el pan y lo bendijo y partió y se los dio a sus discípulos diciendo: Tomad y comed, éste es mi cuerpo.

Y comiendo ellos, tomó Jesús el pan, y bendijo, y lo partió, y dió á sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomad, comed: esto es mi cuerpo.

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”

Y tomando el cáliz dio gracias, le bendijo, y se los dio, diciendo: Bebed todos de él:

Y tomando el vaso, y hechas gracias, les dió, diciendo: Bebed de él todos;

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

Porque ésta es mi sangre, que será el sello del nuevo testamento , la cual será derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.

Porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, la cual es derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

Y os declaro que no beberé ya más desde ahora de este fruto de la vid, hasta el día en que beba con vosotros el nuevo cáliz de delicias en el reino de mi Padre.

Y os digo, que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día, cuando lo tengo de beber nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

Y dicho el himno de acción de gracias, salieron hacia el monte de los Olivos.

Y habiendo cantado el himno, salieron al monte de las Olivas.

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Entonces les dijo Jesús : Todos vosotros padeceréis escándalo por ocasión de mí esta noche, y me abandonaréis. Por cuanto está escrito: Heriré al Pastor, y se descarriarán las ovejas del rebaño.

Entonces Jesús les dice: Todos vosotros seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al Pastor, y las ovejas de la manada serán dispersas.

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Mas resucitando, yo iré delante de vosotros a Galilea, donde volveré a reuniros.

Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros á Galilea.

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”

Pedro, respondiendo, le dijo: Aun cuando todos se escandalizaren por tu causa, nunca jamás me escandalizaré yo, ni te abandonaré.

Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados en ti, yo nunca seré escandalizado.

Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”

Le replicó Jesús : Pues yo te aseguro con toda verdad, que esta misma noche, antes que cante el gallo, me has de negar tres veces.

Jesús le dice: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

A lo que dijo Pedro: Aunque me sea forzoso morir contigo, yo no te negaré. Eso mismo protestaron todos los discípulos.

Dícele Pedro: Aunque me sea menester morir contigo, no te negaré. Y todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo.

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.

Entretanto llegó Jesús con ellos a una granja llamada Getsemaní, y les dijo: Sentaos aquí mientras yo voy más allá y hago oración.

Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos á la aldea que se llama Gethsemaní, y dice á sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, hasta que vaya allí y ore.

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”

Y llevándose consigo a Pedro y a los dos hijos de Zebedeo, Santiago y Juan, empezó a entristecerse y angustiarse;

Y tomando á Pedro, y á los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó á entristecerse y á angustiarse en gran manera.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

y les dijo entonces: Mi alma siente angustias mortales; aguardad aquí y velad conmigo.

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”

Y adelantándose algunos pasos, se postró en tierra, caído sobre su rostro, orando y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, no me hagas beber este cáliz; pero, no obstante, no se haga lo que yo quiero, sino lo que tú.

Y yéndose un poco más adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando, y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí este vaso; empero no como yo quiero, sino como tú.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

Volvió después a sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo a Pedro: ¿Es posible que no hayáis podido velar una hora conmigo?

Y vino á sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo á Pedro: ¿Así no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?

Velad y orad para no caer en la tentación. Que si bien el espíritu está pronto, la carne es flaca.

Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu á la verdad está presto, mas la carne enferma.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Se volvió de nuevo por segunda vez, y oró diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede pasar este cáliz sin que yo lo beba, hágase tu voluntad.

Otra vez fué, segunda vez, y oró diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede este vaso pasar de mí sin que yo lo beba, hágase tu voluntad.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”

Dio después otra vuelta, y los encontró dormidos, porque sus ojos estaban cargados de sueño.

Y vino, y los halló otra vez durmiendo; porque los ojos de ellos estaban agravados.

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

Y dejándolos, se retiró aún a orar por tercera vez, repitiendo las mismas palabras.

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Levantaos, vamos de aquí, ya llega aquel que me ha de entregar.

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”

Aún no había acabado de decir esto, cuando llegó Judas, uno de los doce, seguido de gentes armadas con espadas y con palos, que venían enviadas por los príncipes y sacerdotes y ancianos o senadores del pueblo.

Y hablando aún él, he aquí Judas, uno de los doce, vino, y con él mucha gente con espadas y con palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los ancianos del pueblo.

And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

El traidor les había dado esta seña: Aquel a quien yo besare, ése es: prendedlo.

Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquél es: prendedle.

Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”

Arrimándose, pues, luego a Jesús , dijo: ¡Dios te guarde, Maestro!, y lo besó:

Y luego que llegó á Jesús, dijo: Salve, Maestro. Y le besó.

And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

Immediately he came to Jesus, and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.

Le dijo Jesús : ¡Oh, amigo! ¿a qué has venido aquí? se acercaron entonces los demás y echaron mano a Jesús , y le prendieron.

Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, ¿á qué vienes? Entonces llegaron, y echaron mano á Jesús, y le prendieron.

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Jesus said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Y he aquí que uno de los que estaban con Jesús , tirando de la espada, hirió a un enviado del príncipe de los sacerdotes, cortándole una oreja.

Y he aquí, uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, é hiriendo á un siervo del pontífice, le quitó la oreja.

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.

Behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Entonces Jesús le dijo: Vuelve tu espada a la vaina, porque todos los que se sirvieren de la espada por su propia autoridad, a espada morirán.

Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve tu espada á su lugar; porque todos los que tomaren espada, á espada perecerán.

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.

¿Piensas que no puedo acudir a mi Padre, y pondrá en el momento a mi disposición más de doce legiones de ángeles?

¿Acaso piensas que no puedo ahora orar á mi Padre, y él me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles?

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

Mas ¿cómo se cumplirán las Escrituras, según las cuales conviene que suceda así?

¿Cómo, pues, se cumplirían las Escrituras, que así conviene que sea hecho?

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”

En aquella hora dijo Jesús a aquel tropel de gentes: Como contra un ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos a prenderme; cada día estaba sentado entre vosotros enseñándoos en el templo, y nunca me prendisteis;

En aquella hora dijo Jesús á las gentes: ¿Como á ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos á prenderme? Cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis.

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.

verdad es que todo esto ha sucedido para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos, abandonándole, huyeron.

Mas todo esto se hace, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos huyeron, dejándole.

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

Y los que prendieron a Jesús lo condujeron a casa de Caifás, que era sumo sacerdote en aquel año, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban congregados.

Y ellos, prendido Jesús, le llevaron á Caifás pontífice, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban juntos.

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.

Y Pedro le iba siguiendo de lejos hasta llegar al palacio del sumo sacerdote. Y habiendo entrado, estaba sentado con los sirvientes para ver el paradero de todo esto.

Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del pontífice; y entrando dentro, estábase sentado con los criados, para ver el fin.

But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

But Peter followed him from a distance to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.

Los príncipes, pues, de los sacerdotes, y todo el concilio andaban buscando algún falso testimonio contra Jesús para condenarlo a muerte.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos, y todo el consejo, buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle á la muerte;

Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death,

Y no lo hallaban suficiente para esto como quiera que muchos falsos testimonios se hubiesen presentado. Por último aparecieron dos falsos testigos,

Y no lo hallaron, aunque muchos testigos falsos se llegaban; mas á la postre vinieron dos testigos falsos,

But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward

y dijeron: Este dijo: Yo puedo destruir el templo de Dios y reedificarlo en tres días.

Que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y en tres días reedificarlo.

And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”

Entonces, poniéndose en pie el sumo sacerdote, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada a lo que atestiguan contra ti?

Y levantándose el pontífice, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿qué testifican éstos contra ti?

And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”

Pero Jesús permanecía en silencio. Y le dijo el sumo sacerdote: Yo te conjuro de parte de Dios vivo que nos digas si tú eres el Cristo o Mesías, el Hijo de Dios.

Mas Jesús callaba. Respondiendo el pontífice, le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas si eres tú el Cristo, Hijo de Dios.

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Le respondió Jesús : Tú lo has dicho. Y aun os declaro, que veréis después a este Hijo del hombre, que tenéis delante, sentado a la diestra de la majestad de Dios, venir sobre las nubes del cielo.

Jesús le dijo: Tú lo has dicho: y aun os digo, que desde ahora habéis de ver al Hijo del hombre sentado á la diestra de la potencia de Dios, y que viene en las nubes del cielo.

Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Jesus said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”

A tal respuesta, el sumo sacerdote rasgó sus vestiduras, diciendo: Ha blasfemado; ¿qué necesidad tenemos ya de testigos? Vosotros mismos acabáis de oír la blasfemia.

Entonces el pontífice rasgó sus vestidos, diciendo: Blasfemado ha: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora habéis oído su blasfemia.

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.

¿Qué os parece? A lo que respondieron ellos diciendo: Reo es de muerte.

¿Qué os parece? Y respondiendo ellos, dijeron: Culpado es de muerte.

What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”

Luego empezaron a escupirle en la cara y a maltratarle a golpes; y otros, después de haberle vendado los ojos, le daban bofetadas,

Entonces le escupieron en el rostro, y le dieron de bofetadas; y otros le herían con mojicones,

Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,

diciendo: Cristo , profetízanos, adivina ¿quién es el que te ha herido?

Diciendo: Profetízanos tú, Cristo, quién es el que te ha herido.

Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”

Mientras tanto Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el atrio; y arrimándose a él una criada, le dijo: También tú andabas con Jesús el galileo.

Y Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el patio: y se llegó á él una criada, diciendo: Y tú con Jesús el Galileo estabas.

Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!”

Pero él lo negó en presencia de todos, diciendo: Yo no sé de qué hablas.

Mas él negó delante de todos, diciendo: No sé lo que dices.

But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Y saliendo él al pórtico, le miró otra criada, y dijo a los que allí estaban: Este también se hallaba con Jesús , el de Nazaret.

Y saliendo él á la puerta, le vió otra, y dijo á los que estaban allí: También éste estaba con Jesús Nazareno.

And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

Y lo negó por segunda vez, afirmando con juramento: No conozco a ese hombre.

Y negó otra vez con juramento: No conozco al hombre.

And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”

Poco después se acercaron los que estaban allí, y dijeron a Pedro: Seguramente eres tú también de ellos, porque tu misma habla de galileo te descubre.

Y un poco después llegaron los que estaban por allí, y dijeron á Pedro: Verdaderamente también tú eres de ellos, porque aun tu habla te hace manifiesto.

And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”

Entonces empezó a echarse sobre sí imprecaciones y a jurar que no había conocido a tal hombre. Y al momento cantó el gallo.

Entonces comenzó á hacer imprecaciones, y á jurar, diciendo: No conozco al hombre. Y el gallo cantó luego.

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.

Con lo que se acordó Pedro de lo que Jesús le había dicho: Antes que cantar el gallo renegarás de mí tres veces. Y saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente.

Y se acordó Pedro de las palabras de Jesús, que le dijo: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliéndose fuera, lloró amargamente.

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Then he went out and wept bitterly.
