Puis quand le matin fut venu, tous les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Anciens du peuple tinrent conseil contre Jésus pour le faire mourir.

Y VENIDA la mañana, entraron en consejo todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos del pueblo, contra Jesús, para entregarle á muerte.

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

Et l’ayant lié, ils l’amenèrent et le livrèrent à Ponce Pilate, qui était le Gouverneur.

Alors Judas qui l’avait trahi, voyant qu’il était condamné, se repentit, et reporta les trente pièces d’argent aux principaux Sacrificateurs et aux Anciens,

Entonces Judas, el que le había entregado, viendo que era condenado, volvió arrepentido las treinta piezas de plata á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y á los ancianos,

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

En leur disant : j’ai péché en trahissant le sang innocent ; mais ils lui dirent : que nous importe ? tu y aviseras.

Diciendo: Yo he pecado entregando la sangre inocente. Mas ellos dijeron: ¿Qué se nos da á nosotros? Viéraslo tú.

Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

saying, “I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You see to it.”

Et après avoir jeté les pièces d’argent dans le Temple, il se retira, et s’en étant allé il s’étrangla.

Y arrojando las piezas de plata en el templo, partióse; y fué, y se ahorcó.

And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Mais les principaux Sacrificateurs ayant pris les pièces d’argent, dirent : il n’est pas permis de les mettre dans le trésor ; car c’est un prix de sang.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, tomando las piezas de plata, dijeron: No es lícito echarlas en el tesoro de los dones, porque es precio de sangre.

And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.”

Et après qu’ils eurent consulté entre eux, ils en achetèrent le champ d’un potier, pour la sépulture des étrangers.

Mas habido consejo, compraron con ellas el campo del alfarero, por sepultura para los extranjeros.

And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

C’est pourquoi ce champ-là a été appelé jusqu’à aujourd’hui, le champ du sang.

Por lo cual fué llamado aquel campo, Campo de sangre, hasta el día de hoy.

Alors fut accompli ce dont il avait été parlé par Jérémie le Prophète, disant : et ils ont pris trente pièces d’argent, le prix de celui qui a été apprécié, lequel ceux d’entre les enfants d’Israël ont apprécié ;

Entonces se cumplió lo que fué dicho por el profeta Jeremías, que dijo: Y tomaron las treinta piezas de plata, precio del apreciado, que fué apreciado por los hijos de Israel;

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

Et ils les ont données pour en acheter le champ d’un potier, selon ce que le Seigneur m’avait ordonné.

Y las dieron para el campo del alfarero, como me ordenó el Señor.

And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.

Or Jésus fut présenté devant le Gouverneur, et le Gouverneur l’interrogea, disant : es-tu le Roi des Juifs ? Jésus lui répondit : tu le dis.

Y Jesús estuvo delante del presidente; y el presidente le preguntó, diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos? Y Jesús le dijo: Tú lo dices.

And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

Now Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “So you say.”

Et étant accusé par les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Anciens, il ne répondait rien.

Y siendo acusado por los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y por los ancianos, nada respondió.

And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

Alors Pilate lui dit : n’entends-tu pas combien ils portent de témoignages contre toi ?

Pilato entonces le dice: ¿No oyes cuántas cosas testifican contra ti?

Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?”

Mais il ne lui répondit pas un mot sur quoi que ce fût ; de sorte que le Gouverneur s’en étonnait extrêmement.

Y no le respondió ni una palabra; de tal manera que el presidente se maravillaba mucho.

And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Or le Gouverneur avait accoutumé de relâcher au peuple le jour de la Fête un prisonnier, quel que ce fût qu’on demandât.

Y en el día de la fiesta acostumbraba el presidente soltar al pueblo un preso, cual quisiesen.

Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner whom they desired.

Et il y avait alors un prisonnier fameux, nommé Barabbas.

Y tenían entonces un preso famoso que se llamaba Barrabás.

Quand donc ils furent assemblés, Pilate leur dit : lequel voulez-vous que je vous relâche ? Barabbas, ou Jésus qu’on appelle Christ ?

Y juntos ellos, les dijo Pilato: ¿Cuál queréis que os suelte? ¿á Barrabás, ó á Jesús que se dice el Cristo?

Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

Car il savait bien qu’ils l’avaient livré par envie.

Porque sabía que por envidia le habían entregado.

For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

Et comme il était assis au siége judicial, sa femme envoya lui dire : n’entre point dans l’affaire de ce juste, car j’ai aujourd’hui beaucoup souffert à son sujet en songeant.

Y estando él sentado en el tribunal, su mujer envió á él, diciendo: No tengas que ver con aquel justo; porque hoy he padecido muchas cosas en sueños por causa de él.

When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”

Et les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Anciens persuadèrent à la multitude du peuple de demander Barabbas, et de faire périr Jésus.

Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos, persuadieron al pueblo que pidiese á Barrabás, y á Jesús matase.

But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.

Et le Gouverneur prenant la parole leur dit : Lequel des deux voulez-vous que je vous relâche ? Ils dirent : Barabbas.

Y respondiendo el presidente les dijo: ¿Cuál de los dos queréis que os suelte? Y ellos dijeron: A Barrabás.

The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”

Pilate leur dit : que ferai-je donc de Jésus qu’on appelle Christ ? Ils lui dirent tous : qu ’il soit crucifié !

Pilato les dijo: ¿Qué pues haré de Jesús que se dice el Cristo? Dícenle todos: Sea crucificado.

Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”

Et le Gouverneur leur dit : mais quel mal a-t-il fait ? et ils crièrent encore plus fort, en disant : qu’il soit crucifié !

Y el presidente les dijo: Pues ¿qué mal ha hecho? Mas ellos gritaban más, diciendo: Sea crucificado.

And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

But the governor said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, saying, “Let him be crucified!”

Alors Pilate voyant qu’il ne gagnait rien, mais que le tumulte s’augmentait, prit de l’eau, et lava ses mains devant le peuple, en disant : je suis innocent du sang de ce juste, vous y penserez.

Y viendo Pilato que nada adelantaba, antes se hacía más alboroto, tomando agua se lavó las manos delante del pueblo, diciendo: Inocente soy yo de la sangre de este justo: veréislo vosotros.

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”

Et tout le peuple répondant, dit : Que son sang soit sur nous, et sur nos enfants !

Y respondiendo todo el pueblo, dijo: Su sangre sea sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros hijos.

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

All the people answered, “May his blood be on us and on our children!”

Alors il leur relâcha Barabbas ; et après avoir fait fouetter Jésus, il le leur livra pour être crucifié.

Entonces les soltó á Barrabás: y habiendo azotado á Jesús, le entregó para ser crucificado.

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Then he released Barabbas to them, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

Et les soldats du Gouverneur amenèrent Jésus au Prétoire, et assemblèrent devant lui toute la cohorte.

Entonces los soldados del presidente llevaron á Jesús al pretorio, y juntaron á él toda la cuadrilla;

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.

Et après l’avoir dépouillé, ils mirent sur lui un manteau d’écarlate.

Y desnudándole, le echaron encima un manto de grana;

And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

Et ayant fait une couronne d’épines entrelacées, ils la mirent sur sa tête, avec un roseau dans sa main droite ; puis s’agenouillant devant lui, ils se moquaient de lui, en disant : nous te saluons, Roi des Juifs !

Y pusieron sobre su cabeza una corona tejida de espinas, y una caña en su mano derecha; é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le burlaban, diciendo: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos!

And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Et après avoir craché contre lui, ils prirent le roseau, et ils en frappaient sa tête.

Y escupiendo en él, tomaron la caña, y le herían en la cabeza.

And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.

Et après s’être moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent le manteau, et le vêtirent de ses vêtements, et l’amenèrent pour le crucifier.

Y después que le hubieron escarnecido, le desnudaron el manto, y le vistieron de sus vestidos, y le llevaron para crucificarle.

And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

Et comme ils sortaient, ils rencontrèrent un Cyrénéen, nommé Simon, lequel ils contraignirent de porter la croix de Jésus.

Y saliendo, hallaron á un Cireneo, que se llamaba Simón: á éste cargaron para que llevase su cruz.

And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

Et étant arrivés au lieu appelé Golgotha, c’est-à-dire, le lieu du Crâne,

And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

Ils lui donnèrent à boire du vinaigre mêlé avec du fiel ; mais quand il en eut goûté, il n’en voulut point boire.

Le dieron á beber vinagre mezclado con hiel; y gustando, no quiso beberlo.

They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

Et après l’avoir crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, en les jetant au sort, afin que ce qui avait été dit par un Prophète, fût accompli : ils ont partagé entre eux mes vêtements, et ont jeté ma robe au sort.

Y después que le hubieron crucificado, repartieron sus vestidos, echando suertes: para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta: Se repartieron mis vestidos, y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes.

And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,

Puis s’étant assis, ils le gardaient là.

Y sentados le guardaban allí.

And sitting down they watched him there;

and they sat and watched him there.

Ils mirent aussi au-dessus de sa tête un écriteau, où la cause de sa condamnation était marquée en ces mots : CELUI-CI EST JÉSUS LE ROI DES JUIFS.

Y pusieron sobre su cabeza su causa escrita: ESTE ES JESUS EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Et deux brigands furent crucifiés avec lui, l’un à sa droite, et l’autre à sa gauche.

Entonces crucificaron con él dos ladrones, uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.

Et ceux qui passaient par là, lui disaient des outrages, en branlant la tête,

Y los que pasaban, le decían injurias, meneando sus cabezas,

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads

Et disant : toi qui détruis le Temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même ; si tu es le Fils de Dieu, descends de la croix.

Y diciendo: Tú, el que derribas el templo, y en tres días lo reedificas, sálvate á ti mismo: si eres Hijo de Dios, desciende de la cruz.

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”

Pareillement aussi les principaux Sacrificateurs avec les Scribes et les Anciens, se moquant, disaient :

De esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes, escarneciendo con los escribas y los Fariseos y los ancianos, decían:

Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

Likewise the chief priests also mocking with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,

Il a sauvé les autres, il ne se peut sauver lui-même : s’il est le Roi d’Israël, qu’il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui.

A otros salvó, á sí mismo no puede salvar: si es el Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, y creeremos en él.

He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

“He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.

Il se confie en Dieu ; mais si Dieu l’aime, qu’il le délivre maintenant, car il a dit : je suis le Fils de Dieu.

Confió en Dios: líbrele ahora si le quiere: porque ha dicho: Soy Hijo de Dios.

He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

Les brigands aussi qui étaient crucifiés avec lui, lui reprochaient la même chose.

Lo mismo también le zaherían los ladrones que estaban crucificados con él.

The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.

Or depuis six heures il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays, jusqu’à neuf heures.

Y desde la hora de sexta fueron tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Et environ les neuf heures Jésus s’écria à haute voix, en disant : Eli, Eli, lamma sabachthani ? c’est-à-dire, Mon Dieu ! mon Dieu ! pourquoi m’as-tu abandonné ?

Y cerca de la hora de nona, Jesús exclamó con grande voz, diciendo: Eli, Eli, ¿lama sabachtani? Esto es: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là présents, ayant entendu cela, disaient : il appelle Elie.

Y algunos de los que estaban allí, oyéndolo, decían: A Elías llama éste.

Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.”

Et aussitôt un d’entre eux courut, et prit une éponge, et l’ayant remplie de vinaigre, la mit au bout d’un roseau, et lui en donna à boire.

Y luego, corriendo uno de ellos, tomó una esponja, y la hinchió de vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, dábale de beber.

And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.

Mais les autres disaient : laisse, voyons si Elie viendra le sauver.

Y los otros decían: Deja, veamos si viene Elías á librarle.

The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

The rest said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”

Alors Jésus ayant crié encore à haute voix, rendit l’esprit.

Mas Jesús, habiendo otra vez exclamado con grande voz, dió el espíritu.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Et voici, le voile du Temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu’en bas ; et la terre trembla, et les pierres se fendirent.

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

Et les sépulcres s’ouvrirent, et plusieurs corps des Saints, qui étaient morts ressuscitèrent.

Y abriéronse los sepulcros, y muchos cuerpos de santos que habían dormido, se levantaron;

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

Et étant sortis des sépulcres après sa résurrection, ils entrèrent dans la sainte Citée, et se montrèrent à plusieurs.

Y salidos de los sepulcros, después de su resurrección, vinieron á la santa ciudad, y aparecieron á muchos.

And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.

Or le Centenier, et ceux qui avec lui gardaient Jésus, ayant vu le tremblement de terre, et tout ce qui venait d’arriver, eurent une fort grande peur, et dirent : certainement celui-ci était le Fils de Dieu.

Y el centurión, y los que estaban con él guardando á Jesús, visto el terremoto, y las cosas que habían sido hechas, temieron en gran manera, diciendo: Verdaderamente Hijo de Dios era éste.

Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Now the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were terrified, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Il y avait là aussi plusieurs femmes qui regardaient de loin, et qui avaient suivi Jésus depuis la Galilée, en le servant.

Y estaban allí muchas mujeres mirando de lejos, las cuales habían seguido de Galilea á Jesús, sirviéndole:

And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.

Entre lesquelles étaient Marie-Magdeleine ; et Marie mère de Jacques et de Joses ; et la mère des fils de Zébédée.

Entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo y de José, y la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo.

Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.

Et le soir étant venu, un homme riche d’Arimathée, nommé Joseph, qui même avait été Disciple de Jésus,

Y como fué la tarde del día, vino un hombre rico de Arimatea, llamado José, el cual también había sido discípulo de Jesús.

When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathaea named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus’ disciple, came.

Vint à Pilate, et demanda le corps de Jésus ; et en même temps Pilate commanda que le corps fût rendu.

Este llegó á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús: entonces Pilato mandó que se le diese el cuerpo.

He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

This man went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.

Ainsi Joseph prit le corps, et l’enveloppa d’un linceul net ;

Y tomando José el cuerpo, lo envolvió en una sábana limpia,

And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
