Als es aber Morgen geworden war, hielten alle Hohenpriester und Ältesten des Volkes Rat über Jesus, um ihn zum Tod zu bringen.

Y VENIDA la mañana, entraron en consejo todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos del pueblo, contra Jesús, para entregarle á muerte.

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

und sagte: Ich habe gesündigt, indem ich schuldloses Blut überliefert habe. Sie aber sagten: Was geht das uns an? Sieh du zu.

Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

Und er warf die Silberstücke in den Tempel und machte sich davon und ging hin und erhängte sich.

And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Die Hohenpriester aber nahmen die Silberstücke und sprachen: Es ist nicht erlaubt, sie in den Korban zu werfen, weil es Blutgeld ist.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, tomando las piezas de plata, dijeron: No es lícito echarlas en el tesoro de los dones, porque es precio de sangre.

And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

Sie hielten aber Rat und kauften dafür den Acker des Töpfers zum Begräbnis für die Fremden.

Deswegen ist jener Acker Blutacker genannt worden bis auf den heutigen Tag.

Da wurde erfüllt, was durch den Propheten Jeremias geredet ist, der spricht: „Und sie nahmen die 30 Silberstücke, den Preis des Geschätzten, den man geschätzt hatte seitens der Söhne Israels,

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,

und gaben sie für den Acker des Töpfers, wie mir der Herr befohlen hat“.

Jesus aber stand vor dem Statthalter. Und der Statthalter fragte ihn und sprach: Bist du der König der Juden? Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es.

And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

Now Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “So you say.”

Und als er von den Hohenpriestern und den Ältesten angeklagt wurde, antwortete er nichts.

Y siendo acusado por los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y por los ancianos, nada respondió.

And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

Da spricht Pilatus zu ihm: Hörst du nicht, wie vieles sie gegen dich zeugen?

Pilato entonces le dice: ¿No oyes cuántas cosas testifican contra ti?

Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?”

Und er antwortete ihm auch nicht auf ein einziges Wort, so dass der Statthalter sich sehr verwunderte.

Y no le respondió ni una palabra; de tal manera que el presidente se maravillaba mucho.

And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Auf das Fest aber war der Statthalter gewohnt, der Volksmenge einen Gefangenen loszugeben, den sie wollten.

Y en el día de la fiesta acostumbraba el presidente soltar al pueblo un preso, cual quisiesen.

Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

Sie hatten aber damals einen berüchtigten Gefangenen, genannt Barabbas.

Als sie nun versammelt waren, sprach Pilatus zu ihnen: Wen wollt ihr, dass ich euch freilassen soll, Barabbas oder Jesus, der Christus genannt wird?

Y juntos ellos, les dijo Pilato: ¿Cuál queréis que os suelte? ¿á Barrabás, ó á Jesús que se dice el Cristo?

Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

denn er wusste, dass sie ihn aus Neid überliefert hatten.

Porque sabía que por envidia le habían entregado.

For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

Während er aber auf dem Richterstuhl saß, sandte seine Frau zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Habe du nichts zu schaffen mit jenem Gerechten; denn viel habe ich heute im Traum gelitten um seinetwillen.

Y estando él sentado en el tribunal, su mujer envió á él, diciendo: No tengas que ver con aquel justo; porque hoy he padecido muchas cosas en sueños por causa de él.

When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”

Aber die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten überredeten die Volksmengen, dass sie um den Barabbas bäten, Jesus aber umbrächten.

Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos, persuadieron al pueblo que pidiese á Barrabás, y á Jesús matase.

But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.

Der Statthalter aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Welchen von den beiden wollt ihr, dass ich euch freilasse? Sie aber sprachen: Barabbas.

Y respondiendo el presidente les dijo: ¿Cuál de los dos queréis que os suelte? Y ellos dijeron: A Barrabás.

The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”

Pilatus spricht zu ihnen: Was soll ich denn mit Jesus tun, der Christus genannt wird? Sie sagen alle: Er werde gekreuzigt!

Pilato les dijo: ¿Qué pues haré de Jesús que se dice el Cristo? Dícenle todos: Sea crucificado.

Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”

Der Statthalter aber sagte: Was hat er denn Böses getan? Sie aber schrien übermäßig und sagten: Er werde gekreuzigt!

Y el presidente les dijo: Pues ¿qué mal ha hecho? Mas ellos gritaban más, diciendo: Sea crucificado.

And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

But the governor said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, saying, “Let him be crucified!”

Als aber Pilatus sah, dass er nichts ausrichtete, sondern vielmehr ein Tumult entstand, nahm er Wasser, wusch seine Hände vor der Volksmenge und sprach: Ich bin schuldlos an dem Blut dieses Gerechten; seht ihr zu.

Y viendo Pilato que nada adelantaba, antes se hacía más alboroto, tomando agua se lavó las manos delante del pueblo, diciendo: Inocente soy yo de la sangre de este justo: veréislo vosotros.

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”

Und das ganze Volk antwortete und sprach: Sein Blut komme über uns und über unsere Kinder!

Y respondiendo todo el pueblo, dijo: Su sangre sea sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros hijos.

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

All the people answered, “May his blood be on us and on our children!”

Dann ließ er ihnen den Barabbas frei; Jesus aber ließ er geißeln und überlieferte ihn, damit er gekreuzigt würde.

Entonces les soltó á Barrabás: y habiendo azotado á Jesús, le entregó para ser crucificado.

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Then he released Barabbas to them, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

Dann nahmen die Soldaten des Statthalters Jesus mit in das Prätorium und versammelten über ihn die ganze Schar.

Entonces los soldados del presidente llevaron á Jesús al pretorio, y juntaron á él toda la cuadrilla;

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.

And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

Y pusieron sobre su cabeza una corona tejida de espinas, y una caña en su mano derecha; é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le burlaban, diciendo: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos!

And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Und sie spieen ihn an, nahmen das Rohr und schlugen ihm auf das Haupt.

Y escupiendo en él, tomaron la caña, y le herían en la cabeza.

And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

Und als sie ihn verspottet hatten, zogen sie ihm den Mantel aus und zogen ihm seine eigenen Kleider an; und sie führten ihn hin, um ihn zu kreuzigen.

Y después que le hubieron escarnecido, le desnudaron el manto, y le vistieron de sus vestidos, y le llevaron para crucificarle.

And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

Als sie aber hinausgingen, fanden sie einen Menschen von Kyrene, mit Namen Simon; diesen zwangen sie, dass er sein Kreuz trüge.

And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

gaben sie ihm Essig mit Galle vermischt zu trinken; und als er es geschmeckt hatte, wollte er nicht trinken.

They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

Als sie ihn aber gekreuzigt hatten, verteilten sie seine Kleider, indem sie das Los warfen.

Y después que le hubieron crucificado, repartieron sus vestidos, echando suertes: para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta: Se repartieron mis vestidos, y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes.

And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,

Und sie saßen und bewachten ihn dort.

Y sentados le guardaban allí.

And sitting down they watched him there;

and they sat and watched him there.

Und sie befestigten oben über seinem Haupt seine Beschuldigungsschrift: Dieser ist Jesus, der König der Juden.

Y pusieron sobre su cabeza su causa escrita: ESTE ES JESUS EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Dann werden zwei Räuber mit ihm gekreuzigt, einer zur Rechten und einer zur Linken.

Entonces crucificaron con él dos ladrones, uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

Die Vorübergehenden aber lästerten ihn, indem sie ihre Köpfe schüttelten

Y los que pasaban, le decían injurias, meneando sus cabezas,

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads

und sagten: Der du den Tempel abbrichst und in drei Tagen aufbaust, rette dich selbst. Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so steige herab vom Kreuz.

Y diciendo: Tú, el que derribas el templo, y en tres días lo reedificas, sálvate á ti mismo: si eres Hijo de Dios, desciende de la cruz.

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”

Ebenso aber spotteten auch die Hohenpriester samt den Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten und sprachen:

De esta manera también los príncipes de los sacerdotes, escarneciendo con los escribas y los Fariseos y los ancianos, decían:

Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

Likewise the chief priests also mocking with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,

Andere hat er gerettet, sich selbst kann er nicht retten. Er ist Israels König; so steige er jetzt vom Kreuz herab, und wir wollen an ihn glauben.

A otros salvó, á sí mismo no puede salvar: si es el Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, y creeremos en él.

He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

“He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.

Er vertraute auf Gott, der rette ihn jetzt, wenn er ihn begehrt; denn er sagte: Ich bin Gottes Sohn. –

Confió en Dios: líbrele ahora si le quiere: porque ha dicho: Soy Hijo de Dios.

He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

Auf dieselbe Weise schmähten ihn auch die Räuber, die mit ihm gekreuzigt waren.

Lo mismo también le zaherían los ladrones que estaban crucificados con él.

The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.

Aber von der sechsten Stunde an kam eine Finsternis über das ganze Land bis zur neunten Stunde.

Y desde la hora de sexta fueron tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora de nona.

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Um die neunte Stunde aber schrie Jesus auf mit lauter Stimme und sagte: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? Das ist: Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?

Y cerca de la hora de nona, Jesús exclamó con grande voz, diciendo: Eli, Eli, ¿lama sabachtani? Esto es: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Als aber einige der Dastehenden es hörten, sagten sie: Dieser ruft den Elia.

Y algunos de los que estaban allí, oyéndolo, decían: A Elías llama éste.

Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.”

Und sogleich lief einer von ihnen und nahm einen Schwamm, füllte ihn mit Essig und steckte ihn auf ein Rohr und tränkte ihn.

Y luego, corriendo uno de ellos, tomó una esponja, y la hinchió de vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, dábale de beber.

And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.

Die Übrigen aber sagten: Halt, lasst uns sehen, ob Elia kommt, ihn zu retten!

Y los otros decían: Deja, veamos si viene Elías á librarle.

The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

Jesus aber schrie wiederum mit lauter Stimme und gab den Geist auf.

Mas Jesús, habiendo otra vez exclamado con grande voz, dió el espíritu.

Und siehe, der Vorhang des Tempels zerriss in zwei Stücke, von oben bis unten; und die Erde erbebte, und die Felsen zerrissen,

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

und die Grüfte taten sich auf, und viele Leiber der entschlafenen Heiligen wurden auferweckt;

Y abriéronse los sepulcros, y muchos cuerpos de santos que habían dormido, se levantaron;

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

und sie gingen nach seiner Auferweckung aus den Grüften und gingen in die heilige Stadt und erschienen vielen.

Y salidos de los sepulcros, después de su resurrección, vinieron á la santa ciudad, y aparecieron á muchos.

And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.

Als aber der Hauptmann und die mit ihm Jesus bewachten das Erdbeben sahen und das, was geschah, fürchteten sie sich sehr und sprachen: Wahrhaftig, dieser war Gottes Sohn!

Y el centurión, y los que estaban con él guardando á Jesús, visto el terremoto, y las cosas que habían sido hechas, temieron en gran manera, diciendo: Verdaderamente Hijo de Dios era éste.

Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Now the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were terrified, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Es waren aber dort viele Frauen, die von ferne zusahen, die Jesus von Galiläa nachgefolgt waren und ihm gedient hatten.

Y estaban allí muchas mujeres mirando de lejos, las cuales habían seguido de Galilea á Jesús, sirviéndole:

And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.

Unter denen Maria Magdalene war und Maria, Jakobus und Joses Mutter, und die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus.

Entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena, y María la madre de Jacobo y de José, y la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo.

Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.

Als es aber Abend geworden war, kam ein reicher Mann von Arimathia, namens Joseph, der auch selbst ein Jünger Jesu war.

Y como fué la tarde del día, vino un hombre rico de Arimatea, llamado José, el cual también había sido discípulo de Jesús.

When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathaea named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus’ disciple, came.

Dieser ging hin zu Pilatus und bat um den Leib Jesu. Da befahl Pilatus, dass ihm der Leib übergeben würde.

Este llegó á Pilato, y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús: entonces Pilato mandó que se le diese el cuerpo.

He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

This man went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.

Und Joseph nahm den Leib und wickelte ihn in reine, feine Leinwand,
