Mateo 3

In jenen Tagen trat aber Johannes der Täufer öffentlich auf und predigte in der Wüste von Judäa:

Y EN aquellos días vino Juan el Bautista predicando en el desierto de Judea,

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,

»Tut Buße, denn das Himmelreich ist nahe herbeigekommen!«

Y diciendo: Arrepentíos, que el reino de los cielos se ha acercado.

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”

Dieser (Johannes) ist nämlich der Mann, auf den sich das Wort des Propheten Jesaja bezieht, der da sagt: »Eine Stimme ruft laut in der Wüste: ›Bereitet den Weg des Herrn! Macht gerade seine Pfade!‹«

Porque éste es aquel del cual fué dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo: Voz de uno que clama en el desierto: Aparejad el camino del Señor, enderezad sus veredas.

For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”

Johannes selbst aber trug ein Gewand von Kamelhaaren und einen Ledergurt um seine Hüften; seine Nahrung bestand in Heuschrecken und wildem Honig.

Y tenía Juan su vestido de pelos de camellos, y una cinta de cuero alrededor de sus lomos; y su comida era langostas y miel silvestre.

And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

Da zog denn Jerusalem und ganz Judäa und die ganze Gegend am Jordan zu ihm hinaus

Entonces salía á él Jerusalem, y toda Judea, y toda la provincia de alrededor del Jordán;

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.

und ließen sich im Jordanfluß von ihm taufen, indem sie ihre Sünden offen bekannten.

Y eran bautizados de él en el Jordán, confesando sus pecados.

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

They were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

Als er aber einmal viele Pharisäer und Sadduzäer zu seiner Taufe kommen sah, sagte er zu ihnen: »Ihr Schlangenbrut! Wer hat euch auf den Gedanken gebracht, dem drohenden Zorngericht zu entfliehen?

Y viendo él muchos de los Fariseos y de los Saduceos, que venían á su bautismo, decíales: Generación de víboras, ¿quién os ha enseñado á huir de la ira que vendrá?

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

So schafft denn Früchte, die der Buße würdig sind,

Haced pues frutos dignos de arrepentimiento,

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!

und laßt euch nicht in den Sinn kommen, bei euch zu sagen: ›Wir haben ja Abraham zum Vater.‹ Denn ich sage euch: Gott vermag dem Abraham aus den Steinen hier Kinder zu erwecken.

Y no penséis decir dentro de vosotros: A Abraham tenemos por padre: porque yo os digo, que puede Dios despertar hijos á Abraham aun de estas piedras.

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Don’t think to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Schon ist aber den Bäumen die Axt an die Wurzel gelegt, und jeder Baum, der nicht gute Früchte bringt, wird abgehauen und ins Feuer geworfen.

Ahora, ya también la segur está puesta á la raíz de los árboles; y todo árbol que no hace buen fruto, es cortado y echado en el fuego.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.

Ich taufe euch nur mit Wasser zur Buße; der aber nach mir kommt, ist stärker als ich, und ich bin nicht gut genug, ihm seine Schuhe abzunehmen: der wird euch mit heiligem Geist und mit Feuer taufen.

Yo á la verdad os bautizo en agua para arrepentimiento; mas el que viene tras mí, más poderoso es que yo; los zapatos del cual yo no soy digno de llevar; él os bautizará en Espíritu Santo y en fuego.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

“I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.

Er hat die Worfschaufel in seiner Hand und wird seine Tenne gründlich reinigen; seinen Weizen wird er in die Scheuer sammeln, die Spreu aber mit unlöschbarem Feuer verbrennen.«

Su aventador en su mano está, y aventará su era: y allegará su trigo en el alfolí, y quemará la paja en fuego que nunca se apagará.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”

Damals kam Jesus von Galiläa her an den Jordan zu Johannes, um sich (auch) von ihm taufen zu lassen.

Entonces Jesús vino de Galilea á Juan al Jordán, para ser bautizado de él.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.

Der wollte ihm aber nicht zu Willen sein und sagte: »Ich müßte von dir getauft werden, und du kommst zu mir?«

Mas Juan lo resistía mucho, diciendo: Yo he menester ser bautizado de ti, ¿y tú vienes á mí?

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

But John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?”

Doch Jesus gab ihm zur Antwort: »Laß es für diesmal geschehen, denn so gebührt es uns, alle Gerechtigkeit zu erfüllen.« Da gab Johannes ihm nach.

Empero respondiendo Jesús le dijo: Deja ahora; porque así nos conviene cumplir toda justicia. Entonces le dejó.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.

Als Jesus aber getauft und soeben aus dem Wasser gestiegen war, siehe, da taten sich ihm die Himmel auf, und er (Johannes oder Jesus) sah den Geist Gottes wie eine Taube herabschweben und auf ihn kommen.

Y Jesús, después que fué bautizado, subió luego del agua; y he aquí los cielos le fueron abiertos, y vió al Espíritu de Dios que descendía como paloma, y venía sobre él.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.

Und siehe, eine Stimme erscholl aus den Himmeln: »Dieser ist mein geliebter Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden habe!«

Y he aquí una voz de los cielos que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tengo contentamiento.

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
