Mateo 4

Luego Jesús fue enviado por el Espíritu al desierto para ser probado por el diablo.

ENTONCES Jesús fué llevado del Espíritu al desierto, para ser tentado del diablo.

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Y después de estar sin alimento durante cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, tuvo hambre.

Y habiendo ayunado cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, después tuvo hambre.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

Y vino el Maligno y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di la palabra para que estas piedras se conviertan en pan.

Y llegándose á él el tentador, dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se hagan pan.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

Pero él respondió y dijo: Está en las Escrituras: el pan no es la única necesidad del hombre, sino toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.

Mas él respondiendo, dijo: Escrito está: No con solo el pan vivirá el hombre, mas con toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”

Entonces el diablo lo llevó a la ciudad santa; y lo puso en el punto más alto del Templo y le dijo:

Entonces el diablo le pasa á la santa ciudad, y le pone sobre las almenas del templo,

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,

Si eres el Hijo de Dios, tírate abajo. porque está en las Escrituras, A sus ángeles mandará acerca de ti; y, en sus manos te sostendrán arriba, para que tu pie no sea aplastado contra una piedra.

Y le dice: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate abajo; que escrito está: A sus ángeles mandará por ti, y te alzarán en las manos, para que nunca tropieces con tu pie en piedra.

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”

Jesús le dijo: Otra vez está en las Escrituras: No pongas a prueba al Señor tu Dios.

Jesús le dijo: Escrito está además: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”

Otra vez, el diablo lo llevó a una montaña muy alta, y le permitió ver todos los reinos del mundo y la gloria de ellos;

Otra vez le pasa el diablo á un monte muy alto, y le muestra todos los reinos del mundo, y su gloria,

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

Y él le dijo: Todo esto te lo daré, si te inclinas y me adoras.

Y dícele: Todo esto te daré, si postrado me adorares.

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”

Entonces Jesús le dijo: ¡Vete, Satanás! Porque escrito está en las Escrituras, adora al Señor tu Dios, y a él solo servirás.

Entonces Jesús le dice: Vete, Satanás, que escrito está: Al Señor tu Dios adorarás y á él solo servirás.

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”

Entonces el diablo se alejó de él, y los ángeles vinieron y le servían.

El diablo entonces le dejó: y he aquí los ángeles llegaron y le servían.

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.

Cuando llegó a sus oídos que Juan había sido encarcelado, se fue a Galilea;

Mas oyendo Jesús que Juan era preso, se volvió á Galilea;

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.

Y saliendo de Nazaret, vino y habitó en Capernaúm, que está junto al mar, en la tierra de Zabulón y Neftalí.

Y dejando á Nazaret, vino y habitó en Capernaum, ciudad marítima, en los confines de Zabulón y de Nephtalim:

And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

Para que la palabra del profeta Isaías se hiciese realidad,

Para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo:

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

La tierra de Zabulón y la tierra de Neftalí, por el camino del mar, al otro lado del Jordán, Galilea de los Gentiles,

La tierra de Zabulón, y la tierra de Nephtalim, camino de la mar, de la otra parte del Jordán, Galilea de los Gentiles;

The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,

La gente que estaba en la oscuridad vio una gran luz, y a los que estaban en la tierra de la sombra de la muerte Luz les resplandeció.

El pueblo asentado en tinieblas, vió gran luz; y á los sentados en región y sombra de muerte, luz les esclareció.

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

the people who sat in darkness saw a great light; to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.”

Desde entonces, Jesús anduvo predicando y diciendo: Deja que tu corazón se aparte del pecado, porque el reino de los cielos está cerca.

Desde entonces comenzó Jesús á predicar, y á decir: Arrepentíos, que el reino de los cielos se ha acercado.

Y cuando andaba junto al mar de Galilea, vio a dos hermanos, Simón, cuyo otro nombre era Pedro, y Andrés, su hermano, que estaban poniendo una red en el mar; porque ellos eran pescadores.

Y andando Jesús junto á la mar de Galilea, vió á dos hermanos, Simón, que es llamado Pedro, y Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en la mar; porque eran pescadores.

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Y les dijo: Vengan en pos de mí, y los haré pescadores de hombres.

Y díceles: Venid en pos de mí, y os haré pescadores de hombres.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”

Y enseguida soltaron las redes y fueron tras él.

Ellos entonces, dejando luego las redes, le siguieron.

And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

They immediately left their nets and followed him.

Y pasando de allí, vio a otros dos hermanos, Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan, su hermano, en el barco con su padre, que cosían sus redes; y él dijo: Ven.

Y pasando de allí vió otros dos hermanos, Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan su hermano, en el barco con Zebedeo, su padre, que remendaban sus redes; y los llamó.

And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

Y partieron del barco y de su padre, y vinieron en pos de él.

Y andando Jesús por toda Galilea, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, anunciando las buenas nuevas del reino, y sanando a los enfermos de cualquier enfermedad en el pueblo.

Y rodeó Jesús toda Galilea, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Y noticias de él salieron por toda Siria; y le llevaron a todos los que estaban enfermos con diferentes enfermedades y dolores, los que tenían espíritus malignos y los que estaban fuera de sí, y los paralíticos. Y los sanó.

Y corría su fama por toda la Siria; y le trajeron todos los que tenían mal: los tomados de diversas enfermedades y tormentos, y los endemoniados, y lunáticos, y paralíticos, y los sanó.

And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

Y le siguieron un gran número de gente desde Galilea, Decápolis, Jerusalén y Judea, y desde el otro lado del Jordán.

Y le siguieron muchas gentes de Galilea y de Decápolis y de Jerusalem y de Judea y de la otra parte del Jordán.

And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
