Ihr seid das Salz der Erde. Wo nun das Salz dumm wird, womit soil man salzen? Es ist zu nichts hinfort nutze, denn daß man es hinausschutte und lasse es die Leute zertreten.

Man zündet auch nicht ein Licht an und setzt es unter einen Scheffel, sondern auf einen Leuchter, so leuchtet es denen alien, die im Hause sind.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Ihr habt gehoret, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht toten; wer aber totet, der soil des Gerichts schuldig sein.
Oísteis que fué dicho á los antiguos: No matarás; mas cualquiera que matare, será culpado del juicio.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’
Ich aber sage euch: Wer mit seinem Bruder zurnet, der ist des Gerichts schuldig; wer aber zu seinem Bruder sagt: Racha! der ist des Rats schuldig; wer aber sagt: Du Narr! der ist des hollischen Feuers schuldig.

Darum wenn du deine Gabe auf dem Altar opferst und wirst allda eindenken, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich habe,
Por tanto, si trajeres tu presente al altar, y allí te acordares de que tu hermano tiene algo contra ti,
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
so laft allda vor dem Altar deine Gabe und gehe zuvor hin und versohne dich mitdeinem Bruder und alsdann komm und opfere deine Gabe.

Concíliate con tu adversario presto, entre tanto que estás con él en el camino; porque no acontezca que el adversario te entregue al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y seas echado en prisión.
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

Ich aber sage euch: Wer ein Weib ansiehet, ihrer zu begehren, der hat schon mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen in seinem Herzen.
Mas yo os digo, que cualquiera que mira á una mujer para codiciarla, ya adulteró con ella en su corazón.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Argert dich aber dein rechtes Auge; so reift es aus und wirfs von dir. Es ist dir besser, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, und nicht der ganze Leib in die Holle geworfen werde.
Por tanto, si tu ojo derecho te fuere ocasión de caer, sácalo, y échalo de ti: que mejor te es que se pierda uno de tus miembros, que no que todo tu cuerpo sea echado al infierno.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.

Es ist auch gesagt: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, der soil ihrgeben einen Scheidebrief.
También fué dicho: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, déle carta de divorcio:

Ich aber sage euch: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet (es sei denn urn Ehebruch), der macht, daß sie die Ehe bricht; und wer eine Abgeschiedene freiet, der bricht die Ehe.
Mas yo os digo, que el que repudiare á su mujer, fuera de causa de fornicación, hace que ella adultere; y el que se casare con la repudiada, comete adulterio.
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.
Ihr habt weiter gehort, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst keinen falschen Eid tun und sollst Gott deinen Eid halten.
Además habéis oído que fué dicho á los antiguos: No te perjurarás; mas pagarás al Señor tus juramentos.
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
“Again you have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’
Ich aber sage euch, daß ihr allerdinge nicht schworen sollt, weder bei dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Stuhl;
Mas yo os digo: No juréis en ninguna manera: ni por el cielo, porque es el trono de Dios;
But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
Ich aber sage euch, daß ihr nicht widerstreben sollt dem Ubel, sondern so dirjemand einen Streich gibt auf deinen rechten Backen, dem biete den andern auch dar.
Mas yo os digo: No resistáis al mal; antes á cualquiera que te hiriere en tu mejilla diestra, vuélvele también la otra;
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Und so jemand mit dir rechten will und deinen Rock nehmen, dem laft auch den Mantel.

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

Und so dich jemand notiget eine Meile, so gehe mit ihm zwo.

Gib dem, der dich bittet, und wende dich nicht von dem, der dir abborgen will.

Ihr habt gehort, daß gesagt ist: Du sollst deinen Nachsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen.
Oísteis que fué dicho: Amarás á tu prójimo, y aborrecerás á tu enemigo.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde, segnet, die euch fluchen, tutwohl denen, die euch hassen, bittet fur die, so euch beleidigen und verfolgen,
Mas yo os digo: Amad á vuestros enemigos, bendecid á los que os maldicen, haced bien á los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen;
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

auf daß ihr Kinder seid eures Vaters im Himmel Denn er laftt seine Sonne aufgehen uber die Bosen und uber die Guten und lasset regnen uber Gerechte und Ungerechte.
Para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos: que hace que su sol salga sobre malos y buenos, y llueve sobre justos é injustos.
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Y si abrazareis á vuestros hermanos solamente, ¿qué hacéis de más? ¿no hacen también así los Gentiles?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
Darum sollt ihr vollkommen sein, gleichwie euer Vater im Himmel vollkommen ist.
Sed, pues, vosotros perfectos, como vuestro Padre que está en los cielos es perfecto.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
